Abstract

Proper early childhood nutrition or a lack thereof is paramount in Indonesia because stunting—their most common outcome—can become both physically and mentally irreversible. Parents all too often find difficulty in the accurate and consistent monitoring of their children's nutritional status, which can prevent early identification of deficiencies. This study presents the Multisensor-Based Non-Contact Anthropometric System, a mobile application designed to monitor nutritional status of under-five children using multisensory images. The research had five phases, which are based on a modified ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Parent questionnaires highlighted key nutritional concerns, as well barriers to growth due stunting during the Analysis phase. Design- to lay down the objectives and create educational content inside of the app. In Phase 3, Production; the app was developed and then reviewed by experts in content accuracy as well as media design and instructional strategies. During the implementation phase, in Malang City were given Pretest and Postest to 15 parents as a tester of this APP about testing practically and effectively. Results showed that there were significant improvements in parental knowledge and skills to monitor child nutrition status for stunting, with average expert validation scores of 92.6% (range:75 –100) on media design, 86.25% (67–97) on material content as well as instructional design 87.28%(70 -96). The MB-NCAS app is a valid, reliable and feasible dietary assessment instrument for nutritional monitoring among preschool children. Nonetheless, the lack of tech capabilities in some geographically and/or financially constrained regions is a barrier to wider utilisation. Future research should investigate the generalizability of this app in various settings and work toward increasing technological access to maximize migrant health.

Abstract

The lack of teachers' ability to apply the Pancasila character can contribute to the fading of Pancasila culture abroad, especially for the families of Indonesian Immigrant Workers in Malaysia. This research aims to explore the understanding of the character of Pancasila among parents in the Indonesian-Malaysian literacy context. A quantitative research approach was used with a sample of 80 educators from the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School and learning centers in Malaysia. The research instrument consists of a questionnaire with 15 items for the Teacher Empowerment Program variable and 14 items for Teacher Knowledge. Data analysis uses simple linear regression with validity, reliability, normality, heteroscedasticity, t test, and coefficient tests, which are processed using SPSS software. The research results found that the training program had a positive effect on teachers' knowledge about the character of Pancasila. The Teacher Empowerment Based Course Program has had a significant impact on teachers' understanding of the Indonesian-Malaysian Literacy Based Pancasila Character. After attending a course based on teacher empowerment, there was a significant increase in teachers' knowledge about the character of Pancasila based on Indonesian-Malaysian language literacy. This teacher empowerment-based course program provides educators with the opportunity to gain knowledge about Indonesian-Malaysian literacy. They can apply this knowledge through innovative and effective teaching methods. Future research could investigate further potential benefits beyond increasing teachers' knowledge after participating in this program.

Abstract

The preschool period is an important phase of child development, which includes cognitive aspects, especially in terms of growth and creative thinking, but many teachers still use conventional learning strategies. This study aimed to investigate effective teacher strategies for improving creative thinking in preschool children in a multiliteracy-based learning environment. The research method used a qualitative approach with a multisite case study research involving a kindergarten school. The informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique involving nine informants, including teachers, assistant teachers, and school principals. The research findings show that implementing the strategy steps can create a dynamic and creative learning environment that supports literacy development in various contexts. Factors such as competent teachers, access to resources, and management of barriers shape an effective multi-literacy environment. The positive impact motivates students to continue thinking creatively and exploratively. The multiliteracies approach enhances preschoolers' creativity through purposeful strategies, teacher collaboration, resource support, and the use of diverse media, which empowers literacy in education. Abstract
