Abstract

This case study showed the description about aplication of Levin Conservation Model for children with oxygenation impaired in hospital. The aims of Levin Conservation Model is to optimalized client’s adaptation who has the problem with oxygenation in the environment to reach the wholeness health. The primary nursing diagnose cached was the in efective airway breathing and impaired airway changes. Nursing intervention which was given are positioning the client in order to maximalized retraction of lung and optimalizating oxygen’s supply into the whole-body system, monitoring oxygenation status, giving health education and supporting system of family to the client.

Abstract

Illness and hospitalization are stressors that cause anxiety in children. The non-pharmacological management such as coloring pictures and play puzzle can be an alternative to reduce the anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in anxiety scores in hospitalized preschool children before and after coloring pictures and play puzzles. This study used a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent comparison group pretest-posttest design, with 30 respondents sepatarated in two groups. Data collected using questionnaires. The results showed that there were significant differences in anxiety scores decreased in both groups (p=0.010/<α), and coloring pictures reduce more anxiety scores compared with puzzle play (mean difference=5.93points). The conclusion of this resesearch showed that both coloring pictures and play puzzle therapy can reduce anxiety scores. Play therapy coloring pictures better than the puzzle play therapy in reducing anxiety scores. It is recommended to health care institutions to improve health care for children again by giving therapeutic preschool coloring pictures to play especially on a regular basis to reduce anxiety in preschool children.

Abstract

Taking care of the infants becomes a separate stressor especially if the infants is born with premature and infants who have low birth weight. Many problems arise, if the infants is not treated as it should lead to disability and even death. However, there are some mothers who successfully care for premature and low birth weight infants in the house. Mothers who successfully treat premature babies and low birth weight at home is a situation that is very interesting to learn, because with the new gain experience premature and low birth weight, the mother has been able to take good care. The purpose of this research is in the picture get it mother's experience in caring for premature and low birth weight infants in the house. This study used a qualitative research design with a phenomenological study. Participants of this study were mothers who have had premature and low birth weight infants in the treated at home part of Puskesmas Ambacang. Intake of participants conducted purposive sampling technique, with the number 5 . Themes were identified from the interview are as many as 5 ( five ). These themes are: (1) Characteristics of premature and low birth weight infants , ( 2 ) the mother 's response to premature birth and low birth weight ( 3 ) Treatment of premature and low birth weight infants in the house, ( 4 ) Support the mother in caring for premature and low birth weight infants,(5)Hope maternal health services.

Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological condition that is full of fear that something can be happen. In the third trimester a pregnant women was experiencing anxiety to face the labour in the future. Anxiety can have an impact on physically and psychologically in both the mother, the fetus and the labour procces. Non pharmacological management such as murotal therapy. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the murotal therapy on anxiety level to face the labour. The design of this reseach was quasy experiment by using one group pretest-post test approach. The subjects were 12 of pregnant women in the third trimester in Andalas Padang Publik Health Care. Taking the sampling was purposive technique. Data was collected by questionnaire and data collection was conducted from Mei 4 to Mei 18, 2013. Analyzing the data was using wilcoxon and the result of this study showed significant effect on anxiety level of pregnant women in the third trimester to face the labour with p = 0,007 (p <0,05). The effect of murotal therapy to anxiety can reduce of pregnant women in the third trimester to face the labour. It is recommended to health care institution to provide alternative therapy such as murotal therapy to reduce anxiety.

Abstract

Self concept can be influenced by any changes of physical health, the maturation, the growth, and the sociocultural process. The dental and mouth health is one of the most common health problem of adolescent. The dental and mouthcleanliness, one of the self cleanliness, is influenced the component of self concept. This studywas designed to describe the correlation between mouth health and self concept of adolescent in junior high school number 7 Pariaman using the correlation with cross sectionaldesign. The sampling technique used wastheproportionate stratified random sampling that consists of 80 participants. The data were analyzed by using the spearman correlation test. For the results of study, 66,3% adolescentwas with unhealthy tooth and mouth, 72,5% had the positive self concept. The result of computer analysis shown the mouth health is associated to self concept of adolescent in junior high school number 7 Pariaman toward positive, moderate correlation strength, and significant (r= 0,408; p= 0,000). From the result, it can be suggested that healthy service institution must make a policy about the checking of tooth and mouth healthy periodically, providing information and the impact of tooth and mouth healthy by visiting school directly.

Abstract

Hospitalization is a stressful experience for both children and their family. This will influence the effectiveness of treatment that is conducted on children and has an impact on the healing process of children. This research aimed to identify the anxiety responses of parents over the hospitalization of children. The design was descriptive analytic with cross-sectional study approach. This research was carried out in pediatrics wards of DR. M.Djamil Hospital from June to October 2018. A total of 133 parents/caregivers participated in this research. Data were collected using the Short STAI (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory) questionnaire and a questionnaire about factors that related to parents' anxiety. Data were analyzed by using the Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the parents' anxiety score was 18.02 with a standard deviation of 3.69., the lowest score was 7 and the highest was 24. There was a relationship between the duration of stay, previous treatment experience, and condition of children with parents' anxiety. It is expected that nurses can identify stress or parents anxiety by conducting a comprehensive assessment.

Abstract

Anxiety and fear due to being hospitalized are still significant problems in nursing services. One of the nursing actions that can minimize stress due to being hospitalized is by playing. This study was aimed to identify the effect of play therapy on hospitalization anxiety among children. The research design was a Quasi-experimental with a sample size of 27 children aged 3-6 years who were hospitalized at public hospital in Padang. The intervention was playing therapy with three different types of games for three days; each game was held for 20-30 minutes. On the first day, the children played constructively using Lego; on the second day, the children were given pictures and colored pencils, and then the children were asked to color. Meanwhile, on the third day, the children played paper folding. During play activities, children were accompanied by parents. The instrument used was a questionnaire about parents' perceptions of the response to anxiety in children aged 1-6 years. The statistical test used is the t-test. The average score of hospitalization anxiety in children aged 3-6 years before the intervention was 32.22, with a standard deviation of 5.68, the lowest score was 18, and the highest was 43. Hospitalization anxiety in children decreased after the intervention, where the average anxiety score was 22.59 with a standard 6.64 deviation, with the lowest score of 51 and the highest score of 41. The results showed that there were significant differences in anxiety scores before and after play therapy. It can be concluded that play therapy can be considered as supportive therapy to overcome hospitalization anxiety in children.

Abstract

Social Institution Bina Grahita Harapan Ibu (PSBGHI) is the only social institution in West Sumatra Province who provide social services and rehabilitation for people with mental disabilities. Persons with disabilities who are in the shelter are from various districts / cities in West Sumatra which amounted to 100 people. This orphanage is located in Kalumbuk, Padang City with an area of 5,007 m2. Since the implementation of regional autonomy, PSBGHI employees totaling 44 people either civil servants and honorarium received minimally training, seminars, even a refresher material. Partners in this IbM classified into 2 groups: 1) group of civil power as many as 24 people, with educational background is not a disability, and 2) a group of honorary staff of 20 people. Problems formulated partners namely the lack of knowledge about reproduction and sexuality in the development of persons with disabilities, reproductive problems / sexuality of persons with disabilities, and to tackle the problem. Results showed an increase understanding of sexuality and handling of sexuality problems encountered in children with disabilities. Therefore, the provision of material and playback video in the form of seminar is one alternative that can be given.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was describing the effect of health education at knowledge and attitude of the mother, and incidence of hyperbilirubinemia at the newborn. The research was quasi experimental with pretest posttest design. The samples were 30 post-partum and divided into two group, control and intervention group. Samples selected with non-probability sampling-consecutive sampling. The result showed that postpartum knowledge and attitude was increased after intervention. Incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in intervention group is higher than control group (p=0,651). The research recommended that health education should be given since antenatal period.

Abstract

The Influence of Guided Imagination Relaxation Techniques (Guided Imagery) toward Fulfillment of Sleeping in School-Age Children in RSUD Prof. Dr. Ma. Hanafiah SM Batusangkar Sleep disorders are often experienced by children during their hospitalization. Sleep disturbance in a long time will affect a person's physical psychological condition and can cause the length of the healing process. Guided imagery relaxation techniques is a relaxation technique that uses all the senses through audio provided. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of guided imagery relaxation techniques to fulfill the needs of school-age children to sleep. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest posttest. The sampling technique used purposive sampling the consists of 14 respondents experiencing sleep disorders. The results of this studies using Wilcoxon statistical test showed the influence of guided imagery relaxation techniques to fulfill the needs of school-age children to sleep. With an average increase in sleep duration was 8.42, p = 0.000 and 0.474 standard deviation. It should be given a guided imagery relaxation techniques, either directly or using media such as mp3 audio in a health service in improving the sleep needs of inpatient children.
