Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in two-year-old babies due to chronic malnutrition. A short height characterizes babies experiencing stunting compared to other babies their age. One of the districts in Aceh Province with high stunting cases is Simuelue, with a prevalence reaching 35.7% in 2017. Various factors influence stunting, including nutrition and food quality. This service activity aims to increase public knowledge about the diversification of processed fish products and increase interest in eating fish, contributing to reducing stunting. The activity was carried out in two stages. The first is a campaign to enjoy eating fish using the socialization method. The campaign begins with socializing material about the benefits of eating fish, and introducing the types of fish. This activity ended with distributing processed fish meat products, namely nuggets. The second stage is the diversification of processing products using the workshop method. The workshop begins with explaining the steps for making a product, and then participants are divided into groups and make the product with their group. At each stage of the activity, a pre-test and post-test are given. The post-test results showed that understanding of product diversification and popularity increased after this activity.

Abstract

Most of Indonesia's territory is geographically located in the coastal area. One of the areas located in the coastal area is the city of Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency. The coastal area of Meulaboh often experiences tidal flooding, especially the coastal area of Gampong Pasir and has a quite severe impact compared to other areas on the coast of Meulaboh. Based on this background, this study aims to identify community adaptation to the tidal flood event based on community responses in the coastal area and identify efforts to mitigate the impact of tidal floods that have been carried out by the community and the government. The analytical methods used are descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, as well as cross-tabulation analysis related to community adaptation variables, which include community characteristics, the impact of tidal floods on the residential environment, identification of tidal flood conditions and efforts to mitigate the impact of tidal floods, carried out by the community and the government. The results showed that the people of the coastal area of Meulaboh were able to make efforts to deal with tidal floods in the form of repairing road networks, residential houses, drainage channels, places of worship (mosques), village offices, and clean water and sanitation systems. The government's efforts to deal with tidal floods are carried out by making barriers to protect the coast through tetrapod. These results are important to take future action to deal with tidal floods.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the possibility of implementing the KdV equations for policymaking in vulnerable communities. It is crucial as Indonesia is located between two continents and two large oceans, significantly influencing marine phenomena, such as the frequent occurrence of extreme waves. Additionally, seismic activity can cause earthquakes with the potential to trigger tsunamis. Therefore, continuous research on extreme waves and tsunamis is required. This research provides a semi-analytical solution to the KdV equation using disturbance parameters, carried out from the first to the seventh order, to generate maximum waves. In this study, the modified KdV equation considers the bichromatic wave input , 2 wavenumber expansion equations using perturbation theory and Taylor series, and η expansion using perturbation theory to produce a seventh-order solution. This solution differs from third-order and fifth-order solutions in the context of higher-order influences, with the peak distance found to be closer than the initial point. It may indicate that the higher-order effects of the solution influence the maximum peak of the wave. The results of this research contribute to a progressive step in helping communities vulnerable to extreme waves and tsunamis.

Abstract

Abstract The problem of the water availability has become a global issue so that it needs a tool for water management such as the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT). This study aims to measure how far the uses and developments of the SWAT model in the Krueng Aceh watershed. This paper reviewed applications of SWAT Model in Krueng Aceh Watershed. The developments data were obtained from five publications. This study has limitations in assessing the performance of the SWAT developed in the Krueng Aceh watershed/sub-watershed because not all publications report on the calibration or validation process. From the search results, there is one modeling application that performs the calibration process with statistical parameters on a daily scale and the other three papers on monthly data. The availability of observation data has not had a long time series makes researchers face limitations in improving the model performances. Keywords: SWAT, Hydrological Model, Water, Soil  Abstrak Masalah ketersediaan air telah menjadi isu global sehingga diperlukan suatu alat untuk pengelolaan air seperti Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT).

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country where the livelihood of the majority of the population is farming. Geographically, Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has enormous natural potential, both in the marine and agricultural fields. The agricultural sector is a sector that has an important role in improving the welfare of the entire population of Indonesia. Rice fields in Blang Beurandang Village still rely on irrigation from using rainwater to meet irrigation water needs. To increase rice yields, an irrigation network is needed that can flow water to the rice fields. It is necessary to conduct a feasibility study on the irrigation to be built so that it can be calculated from an economic point of view whether the project is feasible or not. This feasibility study is equipped with an analysis using the first method; Net Present Value (NPV), the second is the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) analysis, the third is the Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and the fourth is the Break Event Point (BEP). The results of this study are the value of the investment cost of the construction project or the initial capital of the irrigation canal which is IDR. 2,088,058,500, and the value of the operational and maintenance costs is IDR. 9,578,250 per year. The results obtained that NPV was IDR. 30,614,330, BCR was 1.01%, IRR was 5.88% 5% and BEP occurred in the 22nd year and the 7th month. Based on the calculation results obtained from these four methods, it shows that the irrigation channel construction project has met the eligibility requirements and the project can be implemented or built. This means that the construction of irrigation networks in the village is feasible.
