Abstract

The development of learning media, especially learning evaluation media, during the Covid-19 pandemic brought new directions in the learning process. Based on the results of the needs analysis, most teachers at the Attaqwa 08 Karang Tengah Foundation are proficient in using zoom and google forms to organize the learning process. However, problems arised when 73.3% of teachers still use printed books, 42% use PowerPoint, 10% take videos from YouTube, and only 10% make videos to explain learning materials. As many as 63% of teachers want application-based, smartphone-based, or online-based learning development training, especially learning evaluation applications. The Mentimeter platform is a solution that can be offered to these teachers. Mentimeter offers convenience in making learning evaluations with a variety of attractive displays with very diverse animations. The training program was carried out for 2 days with workshop and mentoring methods and was attended by 50 participants. The results of the activity showed that participants gained new insights that were useful in enhancing creative and innovative learning.

Abstract

This research aims to design a model of animated video-based Arabic language teaching materials that are integrated with 6C skills to face challenges in the 21st-century era. This research used a mixed approach using the Research & Development method. This research used the Borg and Gall model as an analysis procedure. This research was carried out in the 2022-2023 academic year at the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Jakarta State University. The participants were teachers, experts (Arabic language materials, curriculum), and students. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, documents, interviews, and tests. Data analysis techniques used qualitative data from assessment experts and peer reviewers. Data was presented through statistical descriptions using percentages and means. The quantitative data was taken from the test result in the model's large trial test to determine the product's worthiness. It was done to determine the student's achievement in Arabic speaking skills. It used the t-test. The research results showed that students need classroom teaching materials to learn to speak Arabic, which involves the development of digital technology, namely animated videos. The topics used in the Arabic-speaking teaching material model were related to the achievement of 6C skills, which are relevant to character education values and appear in learning instructions. The content of teaching materials was also combined with reading skills as a source of information for students in carrying out speaking practice in class. Various forms of speaking practice refer to the concept of an oral test. Meanwhile, the use of animated videos is in the instructions for carrying out exercises so that students can use the videos as a reference for speaking practice. These findings also provided an understanding of the demands for the quality of educators' digital competence in designing class materials.

Abstract

Background: Publikasi ilmiah sebagai proses lanjut dari keterampilan penulisan karya ilmiah merupakan tuntutan bagi guru dalam rangka pengembangan kompetensi profesionalnya. Perkembangan sistem publikasi ilmiah yang berbasis digital dan Open Journal System (OJS) tidak bisa dihindari dan harus dikuasai. Hasil survei awal terhadap guru bahasa Arab yang tergabung dalam MGMP bahasa Arab Provinsi Banten masih banyak yang belum memahami seluk beluk OJS. Berdasarkan hal ini, kegiatan pengabdian kepada mereka perlu dilaksanakan agar guru memperoleh pemahaman dan pelatihan bagaimana memanfaatkan OJS bagi publikasi hasil karya ilmiah mereka. Metode: Keikutsertaan para guru dilaksanakan dengan kegiata pelatihan dalam waktu satu hari. Metode yang digunakan adalah workshop dan pendampingan pengenalan OJS. Kegiatan workshop bertujuan untuk mengenalkan sistem publikasi karya ilmiah terbaru, kemudian didemonstrasikan bagaimana mengunggah karya ilmiah dalam suatu OJS. Hasil: Kegiatan pengabdian ini menghasilkan: 1) 85% guru memperoleh wawasan baru terkait sistem publikasi karya ilmiah berbasis OJS, 2) memberikan pendampingan dan pengalaman baru bagi guru dalam memanfaatkan OJS sebagai sistem manajemen publikasi karya ilmiah. Kesimpulan: Melalui workshop ini 85% guru-guru bahasa Arab di MGMP Bahasa Arab Provinsi Banten memiliki pemahaman dan keterampilan memanfaatkan OJS untuk menunjang publikasi karya ilmiah dan salam rangka mendorong peningkatan kompetensi profesional mereka.

Abstract

al-Madīḥ al-nabawī has traditionally been regarded as an expression of love for the Prophet Muhammad, encompassing accounts of his birth, miracles, praises, prayers, and hopes. However, recently, al-madīḥ al-nabawī has not only aimed to praise the Prophet but has also been transformed to serve the purpose of constructing specific discourses. Nahj al-Burdah by ‘Abd al-Ḥamīd, which includes praises of the Prophet, is suspected of containing the agenda of puritanism and criticism of religious practices deemed inconsistent with the Qur’an and Sunnah. This paper aims to uncover the discourse of puritanization in Nahj al-Burdah through Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis approach. The research reveals that Nahj al-Burdah contains puritanical discourse against excessive praise of the Prophet. This is demonstrated through the textual dimension containing ideological words and the discourse practice where the text is produced in the context of the Wahhabi reform movement to support what it believes as the purification of Islamic teachings and distributed by media and newspapers in Saudi Arabia to shape readers’ understanding of the importance of following the teachings of the salaf al-ṣāliḥ. Meanwhile, from a sociocultural practice perspective, Nahj al-Burdah serves as an effective tool for promoting puritanical discourse and reinforcing religious and political authority in Saudi Arabia during that period. al-Madīḥ al-nabawī selama ini hanya dianggap sebagai bentuk ekspresi kecintaan terhadap Nabi Muhammad yang memuat sejarah kelahiran, mukjizat, pujian, doa dan harapan. Namun, belakangan, al-madīḥ al-nabawī tidak saja bertujuan memuji Nabi tetapi juga ditransformasi untuk kepentingan membangun wacana tertentu. Nahj al-Burdah karya ‘Abd al-Ḥamīd yang memuat pujian kepada Nabi ditengarai memuat kepentingan wacana puritanisme dan kritik terhadap praktik keagamaan yang dianggapnya tidak sesuai dengan al-Qur’an dan Sunnah. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengungkap wacana puritanisasi dalam Nahj al-Burdah melalui pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis Norman Fairclough. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Nahj al-Burdah memuat wacana puritanisme terhadap pujian yang berlebihan kepada Nabi. Ini ditunjukkan melalui dimensi teks yang memuat kata-kata ideologis, discourse practice di mana teks diproduksi dalam konteks gerakan reformasi Wahhabi untuk mendukung pemurnian ajaran Islam dengan didistribusikan oleh media-media dan surat kabar di Saudi Arabia untuk dapat membentuk pemahaman pembaca tentang pentingnya mengikuti ajaran salaf al-ṣāliḥ. Sementara dari sociocultural practice, Nahj al-Burdah menjadi alat yang efektif dalam mempromosikan wacana puritanisme dan memperkuat otoritas religius serta politik di Arab Saudi pada masa itu.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the ability of teachers in Bekasi, which is one of the FBS fostered areas, to apply the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. The outputs of this activity are: 1. Teachers in Bekasi who became participants received training on the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. 2. Teachers in Bekasi who participated in the training can apply the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model in classroom learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for a digital guide to halal tourism in Arabic language based on Indonesian culture in Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Lombok Barat, and Gorontalo. The primary objectives are to provide practical and quick information about halal tourism, enhance domestic and international visits, and promote the unique cultural heritage of these three regions. The research adopts the Borg and Gall development model. The identification of the guide's needs utilizes data from documentation and questionnaires filled out by tourists, hotel managers, village administrators, tourism department officials, and travel companies. The study concludes that a digital Arabic-language halal tourism guide needs to be developed in terms of content (halal facilities, recreational activities, types of tourism), culture (information on local culture and permissible practices), and technology (application-based design for convenient access to tourism information).

Abstract

Kerja sama yang saling membangun antara Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Universitas Negeri Jakarta (PBA UNJ) dengan Yayasan Attaqwa 08 Karang Tengah Bekasi dalam rangka peningkatan wawasan guru-guru tentang pengembangan pembelajaran mutakhir telah berlangsung dalam 3 tahun terakhir. Hal ini sebagai upaya berkelanjutan yang dilakukan oleh PBA UNJ sebagai respon para guru sebagai peserta atas pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat tahun lalu. Tim peneliti memfokuskan pada pendalaman metode pembelajaran kooperatif dengan tipe CIRC. Metode CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) merupakan sebuah solusi yang dapat ditawarkan kepada guru-guru tersebut. Metode CIRC menawarkan sebuah pembelajaran terintegrasi antara membaca dan menulis. Pembelajaran dengan metode CIRC ini bisa dikembangkan dalam bentuk pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif dan efektif bagi siswa menghasilkan sebuah tulisan. Pendekatan terhadap mitra dilakukan dengan pendekatan personal dan institusional guna mendapatkan data yang akurat mengenai kondisi pembelajaran. Partisipasi mitra dilaksanakan dengan program pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dalam waktu 1-2 hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan adalah workshop dan pendampingan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menambah keterampilan guru memanfaatkan media penunjang proses pembelajaran, 2) menyikapi kondisi pembelajaran di masa pandemi dengan memberikan pelatihan pemanfaatan TIK dalam pengajaran, 3) menjalin kerja sama dan hubungan yang baik antara PBA Universitas Negeri Jakarta dengan sekolah mitra..

Abstract

The Arabic language, particularly naḥw (syntax), is considered highly important to the Malay people, including those in Jambi. However, the study of naḥw in the manuscripts available in Jambi remains very limited. This article explores the study of naḥw in Jambi by mapping naḥw manuscripts housed in the Siginjei Museum and the Gentala Arsy Museum in Jambi. This research employs a facsimile text edition approach to the naḥw manuscripts with registration numbers 2505, 2539, 2514, 2540, and 2160. The findings reveal that the naḥw manuscripts in the collections of the Siginjei and Gentala Arsy Museums in Jambi have a strong connection with naḥw studies in the Middle East. The naḥw manuscripts in Jambi are not works of Jambi scholars (ulama), but were brought by ulama from outside Jambi, especially from Mecca, such as Sayyid ‘Abdullāh Dahlān who arrived in 1923, Shaykh Sa‘īd Yamanī in 1924, and others who taught at Madrasah Nurul Iman. Additionally, there are manuscripts that were brought from Palembang to Jambi. The naḥw manuscripts in Jambi generally contain and record the content of al-‘Awāmil al-Mi’ah by ‘Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī. However, the book is not used as a naḥw textbook in the pesantren in Jambi. Ilmu bahasa Arab, naḥw khususnya, dianggap sangat penting bagi orang Melayu, termasuk Jambi. Namun kajian ilmu nahwu dalam manuskrip yang ada di Jambi masih sangat minim. Artikel ini menelusuri kajian naḥw di Jambi melalui pemetaan manuskrip Nahwu yang ada di Museum Siginjei dan Museum Gentala Arsy Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan edisi teks faksimili terhadap manuskrip naḥw dengan nomor registrasi 2505, 2539, 2514, 2540, and 2160 dan melakukan wawancara dengan sejumlah pengurus pondok pesantren. Dari hasil penelusuran diketahui bahwa manuskrip naḥw koleksi Museum Siginjei dan Gentala Arsy Jambi memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan kajian naḥw Timur Tengah. Manuskrip naḥw yang ada di Jambi bukan merupakan karya ulama Jambi, melainkan dibawa oleh ulama dari luar Jambi, khususnya dari Mekkah, seperti Sayyid ‘Abdullāh Dahlān yang datang pada tahun 1923, Shaykh Sa‘īd Yamanī pada tahun 1924, dan lainnya yang mengajar di Madrasah Nurul Iman. Selain itu, ada juga manuskrip yang dibawa dari Palembang ke Jambi. Manuskrip naḥw di Jambi umumnya banyak memuat dan mencatatkan isi dari kitab al-‘Awāmil al-Mi’ah karya ‘Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī. Namun, kitab tersebut tidak digunakan sebagai kitab nahwu di pesantren-pesantren yang ada di Jambi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of students who have difficulty writing Arabic in Islamic Junior High School students and the need to apply learning methods that are in accordance with the expected competencies. This study aims to determine the influence of the Teams Games Tournament learning method on students' Arabic writing ability. This study is an experimental research with a quasi-experimental design type of experimental group design consisting of 31 students and a control group consisting of 27 students. The sampling technique was carried out by cluster sampling. The data analysis technique used to determine the effect of the independent variable on the bound variable is the t-test. The results showed that t count = 2.52 with a significance of 0.007 lower than 0.05. Thus, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Team Game Tournament method on Arabic writing skills in Islamic Junior High School 25 Jakarta students.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain a clear description of the kinds of human values and nationalism contained in Ibrahim Tuqan's poetry. This research uses a descriptive method through content analysis. This research is focused on the values of humanity and nationalism contained in Ibrahim Tuqan's poetry. The research instrument was the researchers themselves assisted by three classification tables. The first table contains the analysis column of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic study which consists of icons, indexes, and symbols. Then the second table contains an analysis of human values in Ibrahim Tuqan's poetry. Then the third table contains an analysis of the values of nationalism in Ibrahim Tuqan's poetry.
