Abstract

In Indonesia, of all infant deaths, 57% die at <1 month of age, where every 6 minutes 1 baby dies. The causes of death of newborn babies in Indonesia are low birth weight babies, asphyxia, birth trauma, neonatal tetanus, congenital abnormalities and other infections. Neonatal asphyxia is a condition where a newborn cannot breathe spontaneously and regularly, which can reduce oxygen and further increase carbon dioxide levels, which can have bad consequences in later life. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between Low Birth Weight (LBW) Babies and the incidence of Neonatal Asphyxia at the Fatiha Clinic in 2022. This research design uses quantitative research methods with a case control approach. Case samples were taken using total sampling technique and control samples using simple random sampling. This research was carried out at the Fatiha clinic. The research population of all babies in the Fatiha clinic was 174 babies. There were 33 babies who experienced neonatal asphyxia and 141 babies who did not experience neonatal asphyxia. The research used a secondary data check list sheet. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the chi square test. These results show that there is a relationship between low birth weight babies and the incidence of neonatal asphyxia. The P value for low birth weight babies is 0.000 < 0.05. The advice in this research is that pregnant women are expected to be diligent in carrying out pregnancy checks so that complications are detected early during pregnancy and can anticipate or prevent things that may occur during pregnancy until delivery

Abstract

According to WHO, the world infant mortality rate (IMR) is still quite high, namely 54 per 1000 live births. Causes of death include LBW (38.94%), neonatal asphyxia (27.97%), infections including neonatal sepsis (5.68%), pneumonia 5.68%) and congenital abnormalities. Low birth weight is a condition when a baby is born with a body weight of less than 2500 grams. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parity and the incidence of low birth weight babies at the Fatiha Clinic in 2022. This research design uses quantitative research methods with a case control approach. Case samples were taken using total sampling technique and control samples using simple random sampling. The research was carried out at the Fatiha Clinic. The research population of all newborns at the Fatiha Clinic was 174 newborns. There were 35 newborns who experienced Low Birth Weight and 139 babies who did not experience Low Birth Weight. The research uses a secondary data checklist sheet. Univariate and Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Squere test. These results show that there is a relationship between parity and the incidence of low birth weight babies, with a p value of 0.000 <0.05. For this reason, the clinic frequently provides health education to the public regarding the importance of paying attention to parity factors in planning pregnancy.

Abstract

One of the causes of infant death is due to Low Birth Weight (BBLR). WHO defines babies with a birth weight of less than 2500 grams as low weight, where this condition is at risk of neonatal, post-natal death and higher morbidity than babies born with normal weight. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between preeclampsia and anemia in pregnant women with the incidence of Low Birth Weight at Bangkinang Hospital in 2023. This type of research is quantitative research using a retrospective case control approach research design. The population in this study is all newborn data in 2022 as many as 474 babies. The sample in this study used a ratio of 1: 1, namely 62 with case samples (infants who experienced low birthweight) and 62 with control samples (infants who did not experience low birthweight). The data collection tool in this study used Checklist sheets Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between preeclampsia in pregnant women with the incidence of low weight with p value (0.003) and there was a relationship between anemia in pregnant women and the incidence of low weight with p value (0.004). It is hoped that mothers can prepare themselves better to prevent low birth weight by maintaining good nutrition during pregnancy and checking pregnancy regularly with health workers as a form of introspection. Health workers should be able to improve public education and health checks such as Hb and maternal blood pressure so that mothers can better maintain their pregnancies to anticipate low birth weight events.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) is one of the nutritional problems experienced by pregnant women. Pregnant women with CED will have negative effects both on themselves and the fetus they are carrying. In 2020, reported that the prevalence of CED in global pregnancies was 35-75%, WHO also recorded that 40% of maternal deaths in developing countries were related to CED with the highest prevalence. Risk factors for mothers experiencing CED during pregnancy are risks and complications for the mother, including anemia, bleeding, not gaining weight normally, infectious diseases. This research aims to determine knowledge about the incidence of CED in pregnant women in the Air Tiris Health Center Work Area in 2023. This type of research is quantitative research using an analytical survey method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all pregnant women at the Air Tiris Health Center in 2023, totaling 723 people using a random sampling technique of 257 people. Data collection uses a master table. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test. The results of the univariate analysis showed that 111 (42.7%) mothers had less knowledge. The results of the Chi Square test show a relationship between knowledge and the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women (p value = 0.001) at the Air Tiris Health Center in 2023. The suggestion of this research is to minimize the incidence of CED and improve health services even better by providing counseling to pregnant women to prevent CED during pregnancy. It is hoped that health workers will use the results of this research as a reference in creating programs to increase education by health workers for mothers regarding good maternal knowledge during pregnancy

Abstract

The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is the first indicator in determining a child's health status as a reflection of the health status and basic needs of society. One of the causes of high infant mortality rates is low birth weight (LBW). Low Birth Weight (LBW) is a low birth weight baby born with a body weight of less than 2500 grams. LBW is a health problem that needs to be treated seriously because LBW contributes to neonatal death. Babies with low birth weight are 20 times more likely to die than normal babies. The aim of the research is to analyze the relationship between happy pregnancies and the incidence of low body weight (LBW) at Bangkinang District Hospital in 2022. The type of research is analytical research with a case control design. The research was conducted in August 2023 with a total of 62 respondents (babies who experienced low birth weight) and 62 controls (babies who did not experience low birth weight) using random sampling techniques. Data collection uses a checklist sheet. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test. The results of univariate analysis showed that 52 respondents (46.5%) had uneventful pregnancies. The results of the Chi Square test show a relationship between LBW pregnancies and the incidence of low birth weight (LBW) (p value = 0.002) at Bangkinang District Hospital in 2022. The suggestion of this research is to minimize the incidence of LBW and improve health services even better by providing counseling to pregnant women to prevent the occurrence of LBW in newborn babies
