Abstract

The study has been conducted to determine the structure of horn beetle populations (Orycetes rhinoceros) In Palm Oil Plantation Village Community Kenantan - Riau Kampar regency, held in June-September 2011. Determination of purposive sampling stations were done by considering the age of oil palm trees found in the study site. Samples taken Orycetes rhinoceros with three ways, namely, using mist nets, ferotrap, and direct sampling. Parameters measured include: biological parameters of abundance, age structure, and biomass. While the physical-chemical parameters of temperature, humidity, and wind speed. The results showed that the population abundance at the station I found the pupa 43 tail, tail imago1 73, and 60 head while imago2 abundance at station II, the pupa 30 tails, 61 imago1 imago2 tails and 40 tails, the highest abundance occurred in August and abundance lowest occurred in June, the age structure is most commonly found in the age structure of the imago1 stadia breeding period and the highest biomass of biomass on imago1 stadia.Keywords: Coleoptera, Orycetes rhinoceros.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Has conducted a descriptive study aims to provide an overview of the scientific attitude of students on the course in the Aquatic Ecology Studies Program Riau University Biology Education Academic Year 2014/2015. The samples were students of Biology Education FKIP Riau University who took a course Aquatic Ecology Academic Year 2014/2015 amounted to 99 people. Parameter research is the scientific attitude indicators: an attitude of curiosity, collaboration, conscientious, honest, critical and responsible attitude. Data was collected using observation sheets, scientific attitude in the four meetings in the course Aquatic Ecology. The results showed that the attitude of scientific curiosity at every meeting is 74.12 - 77.69% to the category of good, conscientious attitude to every meeting is 72.47 - 80.30% with the good category, the attitude of responsibility is 73.23 - 77.78% good category, cooperative attitude of students is 75.51 - 89.65% excellent category, a critical stance is 73.23 - 77.53% categorized as good and honest attitude of students at each meeting is 73.23 - 76.52% with the good category. It can be concluded that the scientific attitude of students with the good category. Keywords : Scientific Attitude, Aquatic Ecology

Abstract

Abstract: Research has been carried out which aims to determine the types and benefits of yard plants in Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan and to design a pocket book on the types and uses of yard plants by the community in Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan for high school biology learning. The research was conducted in the community yard of Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan and the PMIPA FKIP UNRI laboratory from March to April 2022. Research data collection was carried out through a preliminary study to the field to determine the state and enviromental conditions in the research location, direct observation to each resident’s house that was used as the research location, interviews with residents, and identification of yard plants. The result of the study were used to design a Biology pocket book for high school students. This handbook is designed for biodiversity materials. The design of the pocket book was carried out in April 2022 until the data collection stage. There are two stages of pocket book design research, namely the analysis stage and the design stage. The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis and subject material analysis. The design steg includes making lesson plans and designing a pocket book. The conclusions obtained from the results of an inventory of the types and benefits of yard plants by the Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan community as a pocket book design for high school biology learning are the types of plants found around the residents’ yards, namely 20 types of ornamental plants, 5 types of medicinal plants, 23 types of fruit plants, 6 types of spice plants, and 7 types of vegetable plants. In addition, a pocket book design is producet that can be used as an additional reference for Biology learning, especially biodiversity material.Key Words: Yard Plants, Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan, Pocket Book

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning for biology subjects during the covid-19 pandemic. Descriptive research was conducted at the Integrated Agricultural Vocational School of Riau Province in May-June 2022. The population in this study were all students of class X agritans, the determination of the sample was carried out by purposive sampling, the sample in this study was class X agritan 1 and agritan 3 as many as 64 students. The instruments used in data collection were closed questionnaires to students and interviews to teachers. The questionnaire used is an adoption questionnaire. The results showed that the effectiveness of online learning for biology subjects on the indicators of learning tools with a percentage of 47.57% was quite effective.Key Words: Effectiveness, Online Learning, Biology Lessons

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to design a Pocket Book Of Plants Spermatophyta in high school biology learning Class X Plantae material as one of the learning resources in the form of pocket books. This research was conducted at the Faculty of teacher training and Education, University of Riau in September-December 2021. The foundation in the stages of designing this pocket book is the curriculum analysis stage and the pocket book design stage. The curriculum analysis phase is carried out by reviewing the 2013 curriculum and analyzing learning materials. Pocket book design phase is done by designing the syllabus and lesson plan first then do the pocket book design, where the pocket book design consists of cover, preface, table of contents, curriculum level, usage guide, Introduction, contents, and bibliography. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative where the method used is the survey method. Based on the analysis of the potential there are as many as 26 species of plants spermatophyta in the Arboretum of Riau University that can be used as a pocket book design on the material plantae in biology learning Class X SMA.Key Words : Pocket Book, Learning Media, Spermatophyta Plants

Abstract

Abstract: HOTS-based assessment is one of the demands of the 2013 curriculum. Students are expected to have high reasoning abilities by getting used to solving questions that are also HOTS in nature. However, the results of observations made in schools, HOTS questions are still rarely used by teachers in the process of assessing learning outcomes. This development research aims to produce a quality higher order thinking skill (HOTS) based test instrument. This research method is a research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model developed by Dick and Carry which consists of five stages, namely analyze, design, development, implement and evaluated. However, this research was carried out only until the development stage. Data was collected by means of interviews, validation and limited trials. The results of this study were 16 quality HOTS questions based on aspects of validation, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power and distracting function, namely 6 practice questions and 10 daily test questions. This is because only the 16 questions match the HOTS test criteria, namely 1) High validity with a total of 25 questions, namely material validity greater than 3.73, construction validity greater than 3.70 and language validity greater than 3. ,72. 2) High reliability, which is 0.73 for practice questions and 0.84 for daily test questions. 3) Has a moderate to difficult level of difficulty. 4) The discriminatory power of the questions is already good. 5) The distractors are all functioning properly.Key Words: Higher Order Thinking Skill, Tes Instrument.

Abstract

Abstract: Tree branching architectural model material as teaching material Booklet of plant classification material for high school level. Research has been carried out to record the diversity of architectural models of tree branching in the Green Open Space (Green Open Space) of Pekanbaru City Forest in January 2022. This research uses a survey method to directly identify all tree species found in Pekanbaru City Forest Green Open Space, documentation, and identification indirectly by referring to the book by F. Halle & R.A.A. Oldeman, with the title: An Essay On The Architecture and Dynamics of Growth of Tropical Trees. The objects in this study are the main branching of the main branch, the nature of its growth, the direction of branch growth, and the place where the flowers appear. This research booklet is designed for plant classification material. The design of the booklet was carried out in February 2022. There are two stages of making booklet teaching materials, namely the analysis stage and the design stage. The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis and subject matter analysis. The design stage includes making lesson plans and designing booklets. The results showed that there were 11 types of tree branching architectural models or 47.82% of the 23 existing tree architectural models. The 11 types of architectural models consist of 34 species of trees in the open space of the Pekanbaru City Forest, namely Aubreville, Corner, Koriba, Leeuwenberg, Massaart. McClure, Prevost, Rauh, Roux, Scarrone, and Troll. In addition, booklet teaching materials are produced that can be used as additional references for Biology learning, especially Plant Classification materials.Key Words: Tree branching architectural model, Green Open Space, Bookle.

Abstract

Abstract: Distance Learning (PJJ) is a form of learning that can be used as a solution during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the distance learning process (PJJ) students have learning difficulties. Therefore, this study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties and the factors that cause students' learning difficulties, one of which is the material of the circulatory system. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research using written test questions and questionnaires conducted at SMA N 1 Bandar Sei Kijang. The object of this research is the students of class XII MIPA, totaling 50 students. The results of this study indicate that the learning difficulties of class XII students of SMA N 1 Bandar Sei Kijang on the material of the circulatory system during the Distance Learning (PJJ) process in general are still quite difficult with an average percentage of 52,2% the criteria are quite difficult. While the factors that cause learning difficulties in general, the average percentage is 73,0%, the criteria are quite difficult. However, the factors that cause learning difficulties for students are more dominant in the family environment, namely 77,2% of difficult criteria and in the school environment of 82,5% of difficult criteria. This shows that the students of class XII MIPA SMA N 1 Bandar Sei Kijang on the material of the circulatory system during the Distance Learning process (PJJ) still have many difficulties in learning..Key Words: Circulatory System, Learning Difficulties, Distance Learning (PJJ)

Abstract

Abstract: The challenges of 21st century learning require the learning process to be more active. Conventional learning methods are still widely used in various learning so that student interaction in learning is still very low. One of the abilities that students must have in this 21st century learning is scientific literacy skills, namely the ability of students to use scientific knowledge, identify problems and draw conclusions based on scientific evidence in making decisions. The results of the PISA study show that the scientific literacy of Indonesian students is in the "low" category. The low scientific literacy of students is caused by several factors in the education system, such as teachers, students and the family environment. This study aims to determine students' scientific literacy skills and the factors that cause students' scientific literacy skills on the material of environmental change. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu in the semester of the 2020/2021 academic years. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with research instruments in the form of tests and questionnaires with research subjects 58 students of SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu. The results of this study indicate that students' scientific literacy skills are in the low category (59,82%). This can be seen from the knowledge aspect (62,64%), context aspect (59,95%), and competence aspect (69,01%). Factors that cause the low scientific literacy skills of students on the material of environmental change are self-factor with a percentage of 66,66%, namely interest in learning, learning motivation, study habits, and students' understanding of the material, family environmental factors with a percentage of 69,82%, namely the lack of parental guidance, and school environment factors with a percentage of 71,60%, namely the way teachers teach.Key Words: Science Literacy, Material of Environmental Change

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the types of medicinal plants by inventorying and identifying medicinal plants that are used as traditional medicine by the people of Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research is a qualitative research. Data on the types of medicinal plants in Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency were obtained through interviews and direct observation at the research location. The data collection instrument was in the form of an interview guide sheet. This research was conducted in Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau for two weeks in early October. Sampling was carried out in 3 countries, namely; The horrors of Benai, Siberakun, Simandolak. The results of the research regarding the inventory of traditional medicinal plant species in Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency found as many as 43 types of medicinal plants that were successfully identified which belonged to 27 plant families and will later be used to design a pocket book that can be used as a Biology learning resource.Keywords: Benai District, Biology Learning, Medicinal Plants
