Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of paragraph reasoning found in national newspapers to be used as a guide for students in writing texts valid and quality exposition in terms of reasoning. These include, a) the structure of reasoning in opinion texts, b) variations of reasoning in opinion texts, and c) the benefits of reasoning in opinion texts as teaching materials for writing exposition texts. This research design uses a qualitative method with a narrative study. Opinion texts used as data sources in this study are opinion texts published in the newspapers Kompas, Media Indonesia and Sindo.. The results of this study are, a) the structure of reasoning contained in each of these newspapers, which consists of establishment, proof, and conclusion; b) the variations of reasoning found in the three newspapers include Sindo having 33 deductive reasoning, 16 inductive reasoning, 4 inerative reasoning, and 3 mixed reasoning; Kompas which has 40 paragraphs with deductive reasoning, 11 inductive reasoning patterns, 4 mixed reasoning patterns, and 1 inerative paragraph reasoning pattern; and Media Indonesia which has a total of 44 deductive reasoning patterns, 10 inductive reasoning paragraph patterns, 4 paragraphs with mixed reasoning patterns, and 4 paragraphs with inerative reasoning patterns c) reasoning in opinion texts in national newspapers can be used as a supplement to exposition text teaching materials in learning Indonesian at the senior high school level in class X in KD 4.4.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a product as an e-module for writing news texts with the concept of differentiation. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and initial tests of news text writing ability. The data sources were teachers and students of grade XI grade XI high school. Based on the needs analysis data, the e-module was designed and developed, then validated by material experts, learning experts, media experts, and expert practitioners. The data analysis technique used quantitative and qualitative analysis. Expert validation showed that this product was "very feasible" to be used as teaching material for writing news texts with an average assessment percentage reaching 96%. The results showed that the news text writing e-module designed with the concept of differentiation proved to be effective in improving the ability of grade XI students to write news texts. This is evidenced by the significant improvement of the initial and final test results of the ability to write news texts with a significance value of <0.001 through the Wilcoxon test. The research product also received positive responses from users both in terms of students and teachers with achievement of 93% and 91% feasibility percentages respectively. It can be concluded that the news text writing e-module designed with the concept of differentiation meets the needs and expectations of users and can be used to improve the ability to write news texts for high school students.

Abstract

A policy comes into existence that does not have a strong basis in the formation process and can trigger controversy and debate among the public. Social media, with its hashtag feature, has become a platform for people from all walks of life to voice their opinions. This research aims to reveal the meaning contained in Instagram posts with the hashtag #EmergencyAlert. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which refers to the theory of social semiotics proposed by Theo van Leeruwen. This research analyzes four main elements of social semiotics, namely discourse, genre, style, and modality. Data collection in this study was done by collecting and documenting Instagram content, then categorizing the content based on the #EmergencyAlert hashtag according to the number of interactions received. The results of this research were then developed into new semiotic resources to enrich future studies. The findings of this analysis show that posters shared on Instagram with the hashtag #EmergencyAlert have deep signification related to maintaining the integrity of democracy in Indonesia. The violation of people's sovereignty is understood as a protest action marked by the Blue Garuda Emergency Alert to the Government, which is shown by posting a poster in blue with the symbol of the garuda bird, accompanied by a call to the public to participate and monitor the government.

Abstract

This research was conducted by utilizing Norman Fairclough's concept of critical discourse. In this research, data collection method is done by collecting parts of texts which allegedly contain aspects of texts, discourses, and socio-cultural practices. In Indonesia society, LGBT is viewed as an illness which should not exist. However, there are still some parties who attempt to be a spokesman for LGBT group, for instance on Pinterpolitik Instagram account and Pinterpolitik website. So, this research aims to investigate how Pinterpolitik Online Media presents minority issues, particularly LGBT group, as the part of this media’s alignment towards LGBT equity, especially in the field of human rights and politics. The editor created an ideology through this report that minority inclusion, such as LGBTgroup, is not a key concern in Indonesia's cabinet. Then, the editor also stated that society should now be free of unfavorable attitudes against LGBT persons. Pinterpolitik is bold to express something against Indonesian beliefs and culture on equality in the context of Indonesian politics. Keywords: Critical Discourse, Online Media, LGBT, Pinterpolitik

Abstract

The current problem is that many students still have difficulty in writing. Observation results also found problems regarding the low ability of students to write posters because they do not want to learn. The purpose of this study was to determine the Scaffolding Model to help phase D students make posters with content related to the regional creative economy. The research method used was quasi-experimental. The population in this study was 175 people. The research sample was 50 people using purposive sampling, with criteria based on the lowest student learning scores from the population. Data collection methods include interviews and tests. The instruments used were interview guidelines, test and assessment sheets, student needs questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique used inferential statistical analysis with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the Scaffolding Model had a significant difference compared to the collaboration model. The Scaffolding Model had a significant impact on students' poster writing learning outcomes, while the collaboration model had a moderate impact. Students responded positively to the Scaffolding Model, indicating that they found the Scaffolding Model interesting and easy to follow, increased their enthusiasm, and trained their ability to think actively and creatively. It was concluded that the Scaffolding Model was effectively used in poster writing learning to improve poster writing skills for phase D students. The implication of the research is that the application of the Scaffolding Model can be used to improve writing skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi banyaknya kasus kesalahpahaman yang terjadi di media sosial karena ketidakcakapan seseorang dalam berbahasa. Oleh karena itu, perlu diperhatikan penggunaan bahasa pada media sosial terutama di kalangan kreator konten sebagai role model para pengguna sosial media. Oleh karena itu peneliti memilih video YouTube beberapa pembuat konten yaitu Najwa Shihab, Merry Riana, Khalid Basalamah, dan Raditya Dika untuk diteliti kesantunan berbahasanya menggunakan teori Leech dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 6 maksim pematuhan dan pelanggaran kesantunan berbahasa yang dilakukan oleh penutur dan mitra tutur. Para kreator telah berusaha memilih kosa kata yang pantas dituturkan dan mengemasnya menjadi konten yang informatif sesuai bidangnya masing-masing, serta menghibur bagi para penonton. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat diimplikasikan sebagai strategi dalam memilih bahasa, kosa kata, kalimat, cara bertutur untuk menyampaikan pendapat atau pertanyaan, nada bicara, dan kelancaran dalam berbicara, sehingga komunikasi yang sedang dibangun dapat dilakukan dengan baik antara penutur dan mitra tutur.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di sekolah menuntut pembaruan pendekatan yang tidak hanya menekankan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga menggali kedalaman berpikir, kesadaran diri, dan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna. Pendekatan deep learning yang memadukan pembelajaran mindful, meaningful, dan joyful menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut. Namun, pemahaman dan penerimaan guru terhadap pendekatan ini masih menjadi pertanyaan terbuka. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kapasitas guru bahasa Indonesia dalam menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis deep learning. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara daring dan luring dalam bentuk pelatihan serta diskusi reflektif kepada forum MGMP Bahasa Indonesia SMP di Kabupaten Sleman. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa guru merespons positif pendekatan ini dan mulai merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih reflektif dan kontekstual. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi pendekatan deep learning mampu membangun kesadaran pedagogis guru sekaligus meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang lebih berpusat pada siswa dan berdampak jangka panjang. Kegiatan serupa perlu dilanjutkan secara berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat kapasitas guru dalam menghadirkan pembelajaran yang humanis dan transformatif.
