Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan perangkap serangga yang dirancang menggunakan sumber daya dari solar cell pada materi listrik dinamis terhadap literasi sains siswa. Literasi sains mengajarkan siswa dalam memahami konsep-konsep sains di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah pre eksperimen dengan desain pre-test post-test control group design, di mana subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas IX. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes literasi sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan perangkap serangga yang dirancang dengan solar cell berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains siswa pada materi listrik dinamis. Terdapat peningkatan literasi sains yang diamati setelah perlakuan. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran dapat menjadi alternatif yang menarik dan efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa pada materi listrik dinamis.

Abstract

Dalam studi literatur ini, dilakukan eksplorasi terhadap pemanfaatan situs OLabs sebagai alternatif dalam penyelenggaraan praktikum IPA secara daring. Menggunakan metode kajian pustaka, data dari berbagai sumber dievaluasi untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai penggunaan platform ini. Temuan dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa OLabs menyediakan beragam simulasi IPA dan eksperimen virtual yang dapat diakses dengan fleksibel oleh para siswa. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat beberapa tantangan yang perlu diatasi, seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi dan kesiapan para guru dalam mengadopsi teknologi tersebut. Dengan adanya evaluasi secara terus-menerus dan pembaruan yang diselenggarakan, OLabs memiliki potensi untuk menjadi solusi yang efektif dalam pembelajaran IPA daring, yang pada gilirannya dapat meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di era digital saat ini.

Abstract

In recent years the need for digital technology in various fields is in great demand, including in education fields. This is due to digital technology which makes it easier for students to understand the material and increase learning interest. To increase students' understanding and interest in learning about dynamic electrical material, the Interactive Tutorial Method Animation (ITMA) was developed using Adobe Flash Professional CS6. This research was conducted at the SMA (Senior High School) Laboratory at Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. This model refers to the elaboration research procedure by Borg and Gall. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument which contained: validation, response, and assessment sheets. Qualitative assessment data from 7 experts on ITMA quality were used as a reference for initial product revisions. Then the qualitative data of student responses were determined using the Guttman statement scale. Ideal percentage and agreement were used to analyze the data of preliminary and main fields, respectively. The results of the experts' evaluation showed very good results, each of which was 92.8% for the material aspect, 91.6% for the media aspect, and 95.2% for the learning aspect. The final product of ITMA received a good response from students with a 96% approval rate. Therefore, it is suggested that the development of ITMA has increased students interest in dynamic electricity subject.

Abstract

Damage to peatlands causes greenhouse emissions which contribute to climate change. Climate change has impacted many aspects of human life. Mitigation of climate change must be carried out by all parties. Education is one aspect of mitigating climate change. Universities can be an example in developing programs or activities based on climate change mitigation. This PKM activity was carried out in Habarin Hurung Village, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan in March 2022. This activity aimed to increase middle school students' understanding of peatlands and climate change. The PKM activity of learning cheerfully about the science of peatland conservation was carried out using a quasi-experimental research method with a one-group pretest-posttest design without a comparison group. The effectiveness of activities to increase the peatland environmental literacy of middle school students can be seen from hypothesis testing using a paired sample of 2 different tests assisted by SPSS 25. This activity produces posters made by secondary school students with the theme of peatlands and climate change. PKM activities to learn cheerfully about the science of peatland conservation effectively increase students' environmental and climate change literacy. The contents of the poster showed that students have been able to connect peatlands and global warming. Students' knowledge about peatlands and global warming is expected to foster environmentally caring behaviour. Similar activities should be carried out sustainably and with a wider community reach. Climate change mitigation activities can be carried out jointly by universities, schools and the community.Kerusakan lahan gambut menyebabkan emisi rumah kaca dan secara global akan menyebabkan perubahan iklim. Perubahan iklim telah berdampak pada banyak aspek kehidupan manusia. Mitigasi terhadap perubahan iklim harus dilakukan oleh semua pihak. Pendidikan menjadi salah satu aspek dalam mitigasi perubahan iklim. Universitas dapat menjadi contoh dalam pengembangan program atau kegiatan berbasis mitigasi perubahan iklim. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan di Desa Habarin Hurung, Kota Palangka Raya, Kalimantan Tengah pada bulan Maret 2022. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa sekolah menengah tentang lahan gambut dan perubahan iklim. Kegiatan PKM belajar ceria sain konservasi lahan gambut dilakukan dengan metode penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pre test-post test design tanpa kelompok pembanding. Efektivitas kegiatan untuk meningkatkan literasi lingkungan lahan gambut siswa sekolah menengah dilihat dari uji hipotesis dengan uji beda paired sample 2 test berbantuan SPSS 25.  Kegiatan ini menghasilkan produk berupa poster yang dibuat siswa sekolah menengah dengan tema lahan gambut dan perubahan iklim. Kegiatan PKM belajar ceria sain konservasi lahan gambut efektif meningkatkan literasi perubahan iklim siswa. Isi poster menunjukkan bahwa siswa telah mampu menghubungkan lahan gambut dan pemanasan global. Pengetahuan siswa tentang lahan gambut dan pemanasan global diharapkan menumbuhkan perilaku peduli lingkungan. Kegiatan serupa sebaiknya dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan dengan jangkauan masyarakat yang lebih luas. Aktivitas mitigasi perubahan iklim dapat dilakukan bersama oleh universitas, sekolah, dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Design and Development of an Automation Device for Free-Fall Motion Experiments Based on a Web-Remote Laboratory. This study aims to develop an automated free-fall experiment device integrated with a web-remote laboratory system. The web-remote laboratory is a real laboratory that can be controlled and displays results remotely through an internet connection. The research follows the Design and Development Research (DDR) methodology, which encompasses several stages: problem identification, objective formulation, system design and development, system testing, evaluation, and refinement. A domain hosting service was employed to deploy the web server, providing greater flexibility and ease in developing control interfaces compared to applications such as Blynk and ThingSpeak. The design and development process addressed both hardware-mechatronic and software components. The software was implemented on the microcontroller and the webserver to enable seamless integration. Testing was conducted in two phases, which informed product evaluation and subsequent refinements. The resulting device supports automation, features fully functional mechatronic systems, ensures optimized sensor sensitivity, facilitates user-friendly control via a web browser, and provides accurate calculations of gravitational acceleration during free-fall experiments. Despite its strengths, the ESP8266 microcontroller was suboptimal for applications requiring high sensitivity. Additionally, the web interface lacked multi-user support. These limitations present opportunities for further development and optimization of the device. Overall, the findings of this study provide a practical and innovative solution to enhance student engagement in laboratory activities, particularly in educational settings with limited access to physical laboratory equipment.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students' low understanding of alternating current concepts, with 68% of students experiencing difficulties and an average daily test score of only 65, below the minimum completion criteria of 75. The study aimed to develop and test the validity of a vertical axis windmill learning media in enhancing students' understanding of alternating current concepts at MA Darul Ulum Palangka Raya. The Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) was used in media development, with validation conducted by media experts using assessment instruments for appearance and attractiveness aspects. Data analysis employed percentage techniques to determine media feasibility levels. Results showed satisfactory validity levels, with appearance aspects reaching 87.5% (highly valid) and attractiveness aspects at 75.0% (valid). This learning media proved suitable for physics education, featuring the ability to demonstrate alternating current generation principles practically and interactively through a vertical axis windmill system equipped with mini generators and digital oscilloscopes.

Abstract

Education needs to enhance creative thinking skills, which are crucial in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, traditional teacher-centered learning strategies have proven ineffective in fostering these skills, especially in challenging subjects like physics. The use of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has been shown to improve students' creative thinking skills in physics education. This study aims to explore the impact of PjBL on students' creative thinking skills across various indicators in physics education by synthesizing findings from related research. The study employs a meta-analysis method, collecting empirical data using Google Scholar through Harzing’s Publish or Perish 8 and Mendeley reference management software. The search yielded 28 articles from 2014-2024, with 13 articles meeting the inclusion criteria and providing sufficient data to calculate effect size. The results show an effect size of 1.03 (high). The effect size interpretation indicates that PjBL has an 84% impact on students' creative thinking skills. Additionally, 19 research articles observed creative thinking indicators influenced by PjBL, with elaboration being the highest and flexibility the lowest. It is concluded that the application of the PjBL model significantly affects students' creative thinking skills in physics education.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of producing an E-module based on Active Learning on physics subjects for class XI SMA. This research was conducted in 7 high schools in Palangka Raya City with the total number of respondents being 186 students. The research method used is the development of ADDIE with the stages including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The analysis of the data used in this study is based on the results of the recapitulation of the feasibility test scores obtained from media expert validators and material expert validators. The results of the recapitulation of the feasibility test scores obtained from media experts amounted to 92.07% with a very decent category. While the results of the recapitulation of the feasibility test scores obtained from material experts are 91.85% in the very feasible category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Active Learning-based E-module in Physics class XI SMA is very feasible to be used as one of the learning media for students.

Abstract

Education is one of the factors that prepare societies to handle climate change. Humanity must step up efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions and prepare humanity for future crises. The development and validation the SLP of the SIP-SPP course is an effort to mitigate climate change through physics learning. The Plomp development design with three main stages: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment to produces valid, practical, and effective semester learning plan products. The characteristics of the resulting semester learning plan product are the learning objective of adopting the thirteenth SDGs is climate change mitigation, adopting EfSD competencies are CPS, assessment learning objectives with environmental literacy questionnaires and CPS performance observation rubrics in groups, learning activities based on peatland-smart projects, learning content heat and thermodynamics, peatlands, climate change, and region. SLP is valid and reliable according to experts and practitioners, practical and easy to use, and can improve the CPS of prospective physics teacher students. SLP of SIP-SPP needs to be developed and validated to make it easier for lecturers and science lecturers, especially physics, to adopt SDGs and EfSD in learning. Environmental literacy of prospective teacher students will be a mitigation of climate change.

Abstract

Pelajaran yang sangat begitu penting diajarkan dalam semua tingkatan tataran pendidikan adalah mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Di dalamnya terdapat empat keterampilan yang harus dikembangkan guru kepada peserta didiknya. Adapun empat keterampilan tersebut yaitu keterampilan menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis. Dalam hal ini kemampuan membacalah suatu keterampilan yang sangat diperlukan. Penelitian ini beranjak dari sebuah permasalahan yang ditemukan dilapangan dimana masih terdapat peserta didik yang kurang begitu menguasai dalam kemampuan membaca. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa SDN 1 Rubung Buyung yang terpilih dari hasil pretest. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian lapangan yang mana hasilnya berupa penjelasan secara deskriptif dari subyek yang diteliti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat sebuah pengaruh metode multisensori yang diberikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca peserta didik kelas awal. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat sebuah peningkatan kemampuan membaca walaupun tidak begitu signifikan tetapi hal ini menjadi sebuah hal yang positif bagi peserta didik Kata Kunci: kemampuan Membaca, Metode Mutisensori
