Abstract

Abtract This research was conducted to reveal and describe the efforts done to preserve Talempong Pacik traditional art in Koto XI Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The object of the research was Talempong Pacik traditional art in Koto XI Tarusan. Talempong Pacik was chosen as the object of the research as this traditional art is almost exinct. This was a qualitatif research. The data were gathered through interview, obsevation and documentation. The instrument of the research was the reseacher herself as the key instrument. The data were selected, presented and verified. The result of the research indicated that there were some efforts were done by the people in Koto XI Tarusan to preserve Talempong Pacik. The efforts were done by establishing an art group, recruiting new members, and carring out regular training once a week in Koto XI Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research was to describe the form of Reog Ponorogo in Tujuh Belas Agustus event in Desa Parit I/II Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Riau. The researcher did a field observation when the show was held in the afternoon. There were 8 people involved in the show, 6 people as the instrument players, 1 person as the singo barong player and I person as the topeng bujang player. The properties used were barongan dadak merak, kuda kepang, topeng bujang ganong. The music instruments were the gamelan such as kenong, gong, ketipung, kendang, slomfret. As the gamelan goes wilder, the singo barong will be more active in doing some attractions.   Kata kunci : Bentuk, Penyajian, Reog, Ponorogo,Sidodadi

Abstract

Sijobang Art formerly acted as an introduction to Kaba ( news ) , stories and information presented in an art show . Media used in the performing arts is sijobang flick lighters in a manner that serves as a regulator of the rhythm . Music is not only an audio work is in production with a musical instrument that is in production . Even though a match can be a medium of entertainment for the people but as the development of the arts basijobang start using media kucapi   ( lute ) . work " Stimul Of Tradition" is born from the color matches and harp sound that is processed into a musical composition and packaged in different ways .

Abstract

AbstrakThis reseach aims at finding out and describe about “Gendang Serunai” in wedding ceremonies at Sungai Guntung, Indragiri Hilir. This qualitative research applied the descriptive analysis method.  The object was the performing art of “Gendang Serunai”.  Data were obtained from library study, observation, interview, and documentation.  They were later analyzed qualitatively.The research result shows that “Gendang Serunaiis performed as a collaboretive ensamble of Gendang Serunai, and Gong.  It is also accompanied with ythe performances of martial art and the “Inai Dance”.  During the performance, the players of Gendang sit face to face.  The Serunai player sits at the back of ythe Gendang Jantan player and the Gong player sits at the back of the Gendang Betina players.  There are two processions of “Gendang Serunai” in wedding ceremonies.  The first in as an opening performance with the martial are while the second one is as the main performance with gthe dance.  “Gendang Serunai” is usually performed at wedding and welcoming ceremonies. Keywords: Bentuk Presentation Form, Drums, Wedding Ceremonies

Abstract

Abstract The research described how the society of Anding appreciated the performance of organ tunggal rather than tradisional arts in order to celebrate their wedding. To consider the phenomenon more, the research was based on the appreciation theory given by Aminudin 2000:34, that appreciate was derived from latin word apreciatio which means appreciating. After observation and interview done to several informants it was concluded that people liked to have organ tunggal better in their wedding celebration due to 1) the difference in the payment, tradisional art compared to organ tunggal 2) the dance of the singers (female singers) 3) economic aspect.   Kata kunci: Apresiasi, masyarakat Anding, Organ Tunggal, Pesta Pernikahan Abstract The research described how the society of Anding appreciated the performance of organ tunggal rather than tradisional arts in order to celebrate their wedding. Abstract

Abstract This piece of music was created as the response to the phenomena of moral and ethics change of Minangkabau people through voice media. This was done by considering the concept of producing rhythm and melody which were expressed in several expression media wich then interpreted the meaning of Bakodek Jo nan Singkek. Abstract

Abstract There are types and variation of musical arts, one of them is traditional musical instrument Talempong Pacik which still exists in the pageant of wedding ceremony in Nagari Koto Anau. Talempong pacik is a type of percussion musical instrument which belongs to the traditional ensemble music of Minangkabau. This study is aimed at describing and finding the functions of Talempong pacik in the bridal pageant in the wedding ceremony. This is a qualitative research by using descriptive methods, describing the phenomena among the variables of data in form of words or images. The object of this research is Talempong Pacik musical instruments performed in the wedding ceremony. This research analyzes the functions of these instruments in the pageant procession of wedding ceremony in Nagari Koto Anau. Talempong Pacik in the pageant functions as (1) a means of entertainment for the community in terms of entertainment which gives specific meanings and messages in Minangkabau view. (2) a means of communication and information in the weeding procession in Nagari Koto Anau. This music is able to convey the message about the activity being performed and the message can be understood by the people who watched and listened to. Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to analyze the alu katentong rhythm in Nagari Padang Laweh, Tanah Datar Regency. This analysis was conducted in order to clarify the rhythm of Alu Katentong art songs. Alu katentong has various rhythms. From the various rhythms, analysis was done to see some rhythms that had the same pattern with each other. The results of the study showed that there were some similarities between the rhythm of one alu and other alu that contained in the same or different songs. This study proved that, there were 7 different types of rhythms in different songs and with different names. Beside the rhythm, the various beep tone from 3 different types of wood also became the identity of alu katentong. Keywords: Analysis and Rhythm.

Abstract

Abstract   This study was aimed at describing the preservation of traditional music of Gandang Sarunai in Nagari Sako Pasia Talang Alam Sarambi Sungai Pagu. This was a quatitative research which used descriptive analysis approach. The instruments of the research were camera, note-book and list of interview. The data was collected through observation, interview and photography. It then was classified into primary and secondary data. The result of the study indicated thet the preservation of traditional music of Gandang Sarunai in Nagari sako Utara Pasia Talang was done in non-formal way; learning throughy observing or watching the show, and legating the skill hereditarily or through art groups. There were three phases done in acquiring the skills of playing Gandang Sarunai through and so were in art groups. In society, Gandang Sarunai was performed in the ceremony of Pengangkatan Penghulu, wedding party, building Rumah Gadang, and welcoming the noble guests. Gandang Sarunai also had four function which were as emotional expression, entertainment, esthetics, and communication. Keywords : Art, gandang sarunai, penggunaan, pelestarian, fungsi

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The data collection started from data existing in the field - from the results of observations, interviews, field notes, and study documentation. Then, the data were analyzed by using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research is based on Alan P. Merriam's (1964: 219-226) theory about 10 musical functions.The results of this study indicate that Kompangan Art is used in various traditional events.  It firstly used in a wedding party. Along with the development of time, Kompangan Art is also used in child shaving and circumcision events as an entertainment for the guests who come to the event. The art of Kompangan music plays an important role for the community, especially in marriage parties. It is due to the fact that it is played as the groom's pageant music. From these uses, the reactions that occur in community activities can be seen. It relates to the function through the feelings that humans feel when they see and hear the art. The functions found are the function of (1) emotional expression; (2) Entertainment; (3) Communication; and (4) the continuity of cultural norms.
