Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis sanagt diperlukan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika saat ini. Adapun kesulitan yang dihadapi dalam dunia pendidikan saat ini yaitu perkembangan teknologi juga menuntut adanya integrasi teknologi dalam pembelejaran matematika. Riset ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran matematika siswa di SMA N 4 Tanjung Jabung Barat dengan adanya pengembangan E-LKPD berbasis STEM berbantuan video animasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode yang dipakai dalam riset ini yakni metode Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Uji kualitas E-LKPD menunjukan hasil validasi materi sebesar 82,5% tergolong “sangat valid” dengan validasi desain sebesar 92,7% tergolong “sangat valid”. Prresentase hasil uji praktikalitas guru yaitu 85% tergolong “sangat praktis” dan persentase praktikalitas siswa yakni sebesar 92,1% dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Presentase keefektifan melalui respon siswa yaitu sebesar 86,2% tergolong “sangat efektif” dengan nilai gain sebesar 59,8% tergolong “sedang”. Oleh karena itu, hasil dari riset ini menunjukkan bahwasanya E-LKPD yang dibuat memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif serta layak untuk dipakai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan profil kesulitan belajar matematika dan kecenderungan diskalkulia yang dialami siswa kelas III dan IV SD N 216/IV Kota Jambi, serta faktor faktor yang menyebabkan kesuliatan belajar pada siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD N 216/IV Kota Jambi pada Maret 2024. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes kesulitan belajar dan kecendrungan diskalkulia dan wawancara kepada siswa (sebagai data utama) dan wawancara kepada guru wali kelas (sebagai data pendukung). Setelah dilakukan tes dan wawancara tersebut, data dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas III dan IV SD N 216/IV Kota Jambi masih mengalami kesulitan belajar dan mengalami kecenderungan diskalkulia. Dari 6 orang siswa yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian diketahui, 5 siswa diantaranya memenuhi indikator diskalkulia. Adapun faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar adalah faktor internal yang terdiri dari rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran dan faktor eksternal yang terdiri dari penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi dan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang hanya menggunakan buku pedoman pembelajaran dan papan tulis sebagai alat dan media pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze knowledge construction process on the 8th grade of junior high school through mathematical problem solving based on ethnomathematics for several students with high, medium, and low problem solving abilities. We employ qualitative method to reveal the subject’s knowledge construction process. Data collection in this study was carried out by giving problem solving ability test, knowledge construction process test and interviewing 3 research subjects, one student was selected from each level of problem solving ability. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. This research describes that students with high problem solving abilities in all four steps of problem solving use assimilation thinking process. Students thinking process whose problem-solving abilities is medium use assimilation thinking process in understanding the problem, creating a solution, and carrying out the plan, while reviewing the answers they use accommodation thinking process. In addition, students with low problem solving abilities in understanding the problem, use assimilation and accommodation thinking processes, in creating a solution, they use the assimilation thinking process, and use accommodation thinking process in carrying out the plan, while reviewing the answers there is imperfect accommodation thinking process

Abstract

The mathematical problem-solving ability of junior high school students is still low, requiring contextual and innovative learning methods. This study aims to improve the problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 10 Kota Jambi in statistics through Problem Based Learning (PBL) supported by Wegos media and TikTok videos. A quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design was applied. The sample consisted of an experimental class using PBL with Wegos and TikTok and a control class using conventional methods. Data were obtained from pretests and posttests, analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, Mann-Whitney test, and Effect Size. The results showed a significant difference, with the experimental class achieving moderate improvement and a large effect size. As a result, PBL supported by Wegos and TikTok is effective in improving students’ mathematical problemsolving skills.

Abstract

The low level of students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in solving abstract mathematics problems highlights the need for active and collaborative learning. The Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model combined with Hands On Mathematics emphasizes direct student engagement.This study aimed to improve HOTS on exponents and logarithms in grade X at SMAN 4 Kota Jambi using STAD with Hands-On Mathematics. A true experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group involved three groups: experimental class I (STAD with Hands-On Mathematics), experimental class II (STAD), and a control class (Direct Instruction). Descriptive analysis showed an increase in average HOTS scores: 77.86 become 82.00 (class I), 73.67 become 75.33 (class II), and 68.11 become 71.56 (control). Normality and homogeneity tests confirmed assumptions were met. ANOVA indicated significant differences among groups (F = 10.233, p < 0.001). Post hoc Tukey tests revealed significant differences between class I and II (p = 0.016) and class I and control (p < 0.001), while class II and control showed no significant difference (p = 0.327). The study demonstrates that STAD with Hands-On Mathematics is effective in enhancing students’ HOTS in mathematics.
