Abstract

Mathematical representation is essential as the gateway to mastering mathematical literacy. This literature study aims to determine the growth of students' mathematical representation abilities in the last three years. This literature study presents a literature review on the development of mathematical representations, including media, strategies, and measurement instruments to serve as the basis for future mathematical representations. The literature study method used is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review), utilizing a review procedure that refers to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework in the period 2020 to 2022 because the growth in literature studies on mathematical representations is very significant and latest. Data were collected by reviewing 24 Scopus-indexed articles and proceedings from the Scopus database. The study's results reveal that from the 24 selected literature, it can be interpreted if the mathematical representation ability can be improved and fulfills the indicators of mathematical representation itself by providing innovation in media, strategies, and instruments in learning mathematics. The innovations provided can be in the form of technology integration (Geogebra), no longer conventional strategies (RME strategy), and instrument indicators of the representation itself. Thus the ability of students' mathematical representations is no longer included in the low category in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Malnutrition and obesity are health problems that often occur in society due to an imbalance in the intake of nutrients consumed. Community service with balanced healthy menu counseling activities aims to prevent health problems of malnutrition and obesity that are rife in the community. The method used in this community service activity is an informative - participatory method with the technique of delivering training materials on general guidelines for balanced nutrition. Balanced menu counseling activities were given to 30 PAUD teachers in the West Tulang Bawang area. Post test results of participants who were able to answer all the questions given were 32%. This shows that there is a significant increase in the knowledge of PAUD teachers.

Abstract

This research aimed to assess the readiness of Indonesian pre-service science teachers by examining their perceptions of impending challenges, desired competencies, and anticipated instructional methodologies in preparing for the challenges of Society 5.0. Using a quantitative survey research methodology, 884 pre-service science teachers from 16 universities were surveyed. The research instrument's validity and reliability were assessed utilizing the Rasch model. Inferential statistics were employed to assess the readiness of pre-service science teachers for future challenges, taking into account their backgrounds. The test outcomes showed the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient reached 0.92, is deemed "excellent", affirming the instrument's high reliability. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of teachers share a consistent perception of future challenges and recognize the importance of mastering 21st-century skills, particularly critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. However, respondents believe that the current learning process does not adequately train these skills. They expressed a desire for an alternative learning method that can enhance their skills while accommodating their diverse backgrounds, including place of residence, economic background, and technological proficiency. Further research is needed to identify alternative teaching methods that can effectively foster these abilities in diverse backgrounds.

Abstract

Education and culture are two things that cannot be separated because the inclusion of culture in education will make learning more meaningful. The purpose of this research was to find out the perceptions of elementary school (SD) teachers in Lampung Province regarding the integration of culture in thematic learning in elementary schools. Much research has been conducted on the integration of culture into learning in elementary schools, but this research focuses more on the cultural context in Lampung Province. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires through the Google Form, where the questionnaire had previously been tested for validity and reliability. Then it was strengthened by interviews to dig deeper into integrating culture into learning. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The research results show that cultural integration in learning can (1) be a learning resource that is parallel to the main material as a form of introducing and preserving culture as early as possible in elementary school, (2) help students achieve their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies, and (3) become additional references for teachers so that learning can be more real for elementary school students because culture is inherent in students' daily lives. (4) Of course, in practice, there are many obstacles faced by teachers, namely limited teacher knowledge related to culture, lack of supporting resources, limited learning time, lack of support from student parents, inadequate facilities, limited ability of teachers to teach children's songs according to the theme, available teaching materials, and still using a subject approach, making it difficult for teachers to combine material according to the theme. Therefore, real collaboration is needed between teachers, school principals, communities, and policymakers to support each other and integrate culture in elementary schools as early as possible.

Abstract

The Role of Teacher Followership Mediation for Authentic Leadership toward Teacher Work Engagement. Objectives: This research aimed to investigate how authentic leadership affects teacher followership and teacher work engagement mediated by teacher followership. Methods: A quantitative survey was employed. The population was civil servant teachers of senior high and vocational schools from 15 districts of Lampung Province, with a sample of  378 teachers randomly selected  and completed the questionnaires distributed through google form The gathered data were analyzed using SEM Amos Version 23. Findings: Authentic leadership influenced teacher followership, teacher followership influenced teacher work engagement, and teacher followership mediated the influence of authentic leadership on teacher work engagement. Conclusion: Authentic leadership positively and significantly inluences teacher work engagement mediated by teacher followership. Keywords: authentic leadership, teacher followership, teacher work engagement, role of mediationDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i3.202322
