Abstract

Welding combines two or more materials, especially metals, using heat or pressure. Welding is important in various industries, such as automotive, construction, manufacturing, and aerospace. This study aims to analyze trends and developments in welding technology in the future based on the latest data and sources. The research method used is trend analysis, which identifies patterns or directions of change of a variable or phenomenon based on historical data or predictions. The data was collected from web search results. The data is analyzed by classifying based on the type of welding. These factors influence the development of welding, new technologies related to welding, and the challenges and opportunities faced by the welding industry. The research results show that various factors, such as industrial needs, technological advances, environmental issues, and government regulations, influence the development of welding in the future. Some examples of welding technologies that will develop in the future are the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to automate the welding process and improve accuracy and safety, the development of Friction stir welding techniques to combine metals that are difficult to weld, such as aluminium, magnesium, copper, and titanium, and the application of hybrid welding techniques that combine two or more types of welding to obtain optimal results, such as laser-arc welding or laser-friction welding. This research also discusses the social and economic impacts of future developments in welding, especially related to job availability, labour skills, and community welfare. In addition, this study provides suggestions for further research or for welding industry practitioners, such as conducting further research on the environmental impact of future welding developments, developing welding technologies that are environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and sustainable, and improving cooperation between related parties in the welding industry.

Abstract

Subsea pipe installations are installed on the seabed with a particular security system so that the pipes will not shift from their location due to wave pressure, tidal currents and ground movements. The underwater pipes are installed so that they follow the seabed's contour with an installed length of tens of kilometres, which routinely carries feed intake and other process materials. Hence, the existence of this underwater pipe is essential. Some of the problems faced in underwater pipes include damage to underwater pipes due to shifting and kinking, pipes hitting ship anchors, and pipes being dragged by ship anchors so that they are damaged and broken. This incident resulted in disruption and cessation of company operations. This problem requires further investigation to find out the factors and causes of the incident in order to find an effective solution. Articulated Concrete Block Mattresses (ACBM) are artificial concrete blocks in a rectangular shape which will be installed regularly on underwater pipes (SPL) and between one block and another concrete block connected with polypropylene ropes. ACM adjusts its geometry to suit the structure and adapts to undulations in the river/seabed (e.g. due to scouring). From the description of the research results and discussion of the research results, several things can be concluded as follows: The hydrodynamic coefficient of the ACBM can be obtained using an experimental test process, namely the direct pull test, which will produce coefficient values that need to be validated by predicting the cell strength load and crisis speed with maximum error agreement. by 8.3% in five varied tests. Moreover, it was obtained using a numerical study that simulates pipes protected with ACBM in two conditions: regular waves in deep water and breaking waves in shallow water. Moreover, these two studies concluded that the drag and lift coefficients on pipes protected with ACBM were smaller than those on pipes that were not protected.

Abstract

The oil and gas exploration and production industry significantly contributes to the global economy, and undersea pipelines are the safest and most economical route to transport natural gas and crude oil from offshore to land. However, undersea pipeline networks are prone to leaks that can cause financial losses and extreme environmental pollution. Therefore, it is essential to monitor pipelines to detect leaks promptly or even predict leaks to reduce the impact of oil spills on society. Various leak detection methods have been developed, and further research is needed to identify research gaps for future work. There are various methods for detecting pipe leaks, each with advantages and disadvantages. External-based methods tend to be more accurate in finding leaks, while internal/computational methods can determine the level of leaks. The acoustic method is considered the most efficient for inspecting subsea pipelines and detecting leaks. However, each method has strengths and limitations that must be considered before choosing the proper method. Advances in computing technology have also enabled the use of dynamic modeling approaches more popular in the oil and gas industry. Factors such as cost, sensitivity, accuracy, ease of use, and the type and location of the pipeline also need to be considered in selecting a suitable pipeline leak detection method.

Abstract

The nutritional status of children significantly impacts their overall health and development, intertwined with socioeconomic factors. Adequate nutrition is essential for cognitive development and academic performance. Despite its importance, malnutrition remains prevalent among Indonesian children, with varying degrees of underweight, overweight, and obesity. This study utilized the PDCA method to screen nutritional status among students at SDN 01 Ciherang, West Java. Anthropometric measurements revealed diverse nutritional statuses, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among students, educators, and parents to implement interventions for healthier dietary habits and long-term health outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the role of the principal's managerial competence in improving teacher discipline. Factors and factors that hinder and support the principal's managerial competence in improving teacher discipline at SD Inpres Tompotana, Takalar Regency. This research was carried out in Takalar, where it was at SD Inpres Tompotana, Takalar Regency, which took place from May 27 2023 to July 27 2023. The method of collecting data in this study used interviews, documentation and observation. The subjects in this study were school principals and teachers. The results of research conducted by researchers, that the role of the principal in improving teacher discipline, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Principal's Managerial Competence in Improving Teacher Discipline at SD Inpres Tompotana, Takalar Regency. This is very important for teacher independence through various forms of training, namely with the guidance and motivation of the Principal towards the teacher and also from the awareness of the teacher himself in developing the mandate and responsibility as educators who should be an example, a role model for their students, self-discipline training so that Principals, fellow teachers and students can carry out their obligations wholeheartedly, namely arriving on time, being disciplined from various aspects of the school environment so as to create an effective and time-disciplined school. This research uses qualitative research methods.

Abstract

Stress is a common mental health problem among medical students due to academic demands. Physical activity is known to reduce stress through physiological and psychological mechanisms. This study aims to examine the relationship between physical activity and stress levels among medical students at Tarumanagara University class of 2022–2023. This research employed an analytical cross-sectional design. A total of 123 respondents who met the inclusion criteria completed the physical activity (Baecke Questionnaire) and stress level (Perceived Stress Scale-10) questionnaires. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results showed that 95.1% of respondents experienced moderate to severe stress, while only 15.4% regularly exercised. A significant relationship was found between physical activity and stress level (p = 0.000). The odds ratio of 13.600 indicates that students who exercised regularly were 13 times more likely to experience lower stress compared to those who did not. This study highlights the role of regular physical activity as a protective factor in managing stress among medical students

Abstract

Abstract : Scientific approach is a teaching strategy which is used in 2013 curriculum in Indonesia. This approach can be implemented in all subjects at senior high school include English. Although scientific approach offers significant effectiveness in teaching and learning process, there were still some challenges faced by English teachers in each five phases. This qualitative descriptive study   aims investigating and describing the challenges and solutions in implementing scientific approach experienced by English teachers in Senior high school in Jambi. The data were collected through interview with English teachers. The findings showed that the teachers faced some similar and different challenges in implementing it. Almost in each phase, the teachers faced challenges related to students’ low motivation in learning English because of some factors such as having limited number of vocabulary, getting difficult in constructing idea to do tasks and having no interest in the topics. Then, the teachers also try to do some solutions for solving all the challenges such as giving example from real life, motivating the students in learning English, give them reward or additional score for whom participate actively, listing new vocabulary, and allowing students to asking by mixing Indonesian and English.Key words: Scientific Approach, 2013 Curriculum, Challenges, Senior High School
