Abstract

Introduction: In Indonesia, the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines has emerged as a divisive topic, sparking debate and controversy among the population. Despite government efforts to promote vaccination, the acceptance rate remains low in certain regions. For instance, in Central Java, only approximately 60% of pregnant women have been vaccinated against COVID-19, well below the national target of 80%. This lack of acceptance is largely due to misinformation, fear, and the lack of knowledge within the community, exacerbated by insufficient government oversight in vaccination campaigns. As a result, pregnant women have displayed varying levels of hesitancy and concern, which influences their response to the COVID-19 vaccine Methods: This type of study quantitativeand involved pregnant woman conducted across Central Java. A total of participants is 1084 person and duration two year in 2022-2024th. Data were collected through primarry and secondary data. Data analysis using multiple linear regression and R-Square test. Ethical approval was obtained from research and community service STIKES Serulingmas instituation and participants provided Informed consent. Results:  The motivation of pregnant women has a positive and significant direct effect on the interest in vaccination with ρѵ = 0.000 <0.05, meaning that the better the mother's motivation. The coefficient value of 78.3% has an effect on interest in vaccination against Covid-19. Conclusion:  Motivation of pregnant women influences interest in vaccination. The extent of societal unease and skepticism leading to misconceptions about COVID-19 immunization.

Observation, interviews, and questionnaires were used to collect data. And data analysis techniques such as data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results found indicate that there is a diversity of parenting styles carried out by student parents in instilling morals in children from an early age; among these parenting styles are democratic, permissive, and authoritarian parenting styles. The democratic parenting pattern shows the greatest level of acceptance compared to the permissive and authoritarian types. So, it can be concluded that, based on the existing research data, parents have a tendency to instill morals at an early age by using democratic parenting.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of adolescents' lives, offering quick access to information, including reproductive health information. However, exposure to inaccurate information can pose risks. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media use and adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior. A quantitative research method with a cross-sectional approach and chi-square test was used to examine the relationship between the independent variable (social media use) and the dependent variable (reproductive health knowledge and behavior). The study population was all 10th grade students (23 students) and 11th grade students (30 students) at SMK Tamansiswa Boja Kendal. A sample of 53 respondents was taken using an accidental sampling technique, consisting of students who happened to be present and willing to participate during the study. The results showed that the majority of respondents (56.6%) had low social media usage intensity. The majority of respondents also had a high level of knowledge (75.5%) about reproductive health, with an average score of 8.13 and a median of 10. Most respondents (66.0%) demonstrated positive reproductive health behavior. However, the chi-square test results showed no significant relationship between social media use and levels of knowledge (p = 0.673) or reproductive health behavior (p = 0.495). Although social media did not show a significant direct relationship to adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior in the context of this study, the high levels of knowledge and positive behaviors found indicate that existing educational programs, both in schools and from other sources, have been effective. Further research with larger samples and wider geographic variation is needed to understand other factors that influence adolescent health behavior.

Abstract

Background: This study aimed to examine the effect of non-pharmacological therapy, specifically progressive muscle relaxation and Benson relaxation, on anxiety levels in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is known to trigger psychological disorders, including anxiety, which can negatively affect treatment outcomes. Methods: A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was applied, involving 43 purposively selected respondents. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Results: The majority of respondents were aged 46–55 years, had completed high school or vocational school, were unemployed, and had undergone chemotherapy 1–6 times. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed a significant reduction in anxiety scores after the intervention. Conclussion: These findings indicate that progressive muscle relaxation and Benson relaxation are effective in reducing anxiety among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, highlighting the importance of integrating non-pharmacological interventions into supportive oncology care.

Abstract

Background: The climacteric phase is a critical transitional period often accompanied by physical, emotional, and psychosocial changes that may influence an individual’s ability to cope with stress. This study analyzed the relationship between adaptive coping mechanisms and stress levels among elderly retirees using a sequential mixed-methods design. Methods: A total of 169 respondents participated in the quantitative phase, followed by in-depth interviews with 10 key informants. Results: Fisher’s Exact Test revealed a significant association between adaptive coping and stress levels (p = 0.000; p < 0.05), while age and gender were not significant factors. Qualitative insights emphasized the vital role of social support from family, peers, and the community in strengthening adaptive coping and emotional well-being. Both findings indicates that enhancing adaptive coping and social support effectively reduces stress among older adults. Conclussion: These results highlight the need for community-based mental health initiatives and post-retirement support programs to promote resilience and improve the quality of life in the elderly.

Abstract

Background: Stunting remains a major nutritional problem influenced by inadequate feeding practices during early childhood. This study examined the effect of feeding counseling and massage therapy for feeding difficulties on the nutritional status of stunted toddlers. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was conducted among 40 stunted toddlers aged 24–59 months in Semarang City. The intervention group received feeding counseling and massage therapy for three months, while the control group received standard care. Nutritional status was assessed using Weight-for-Age Z-score (WAZ) and Height-for-Age Z-score (HAZ). Results: The intervention led to a significant improvement in HAZ scores (p < 0.001), indicating a positive trend in linear growth, while WAZ scores showed no significant change. Conclussion: These results suggest that feeding counseling combined with massage therapy for feeding difficulties may support linear growth among stunted toddlers. However, the small sample size and short intervention period limit the generalizability of these findings.

Abstract

The prevalence of caesarean section in Thailand is increasing every year along with the growing capability of women to work. This study examined the correlation between wealth index and caesarean section decision (decided in advance or after labour). This study used secondary data from the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) Thailand in 2022. The sample consisted of women who had at least one child. The dependent variable is the caesarean section decision, and the main independent variable is the wealth index. The data was analyzed for univariate, bivariate (t-test and Chi-square), and multivariate (binary logistic regression). The findings revealed that around 70% of women decided to deliver by caesarean section in advance (not after labour). The multivariate analysis found the richest women were 2.88 times more likely to decide to deliver by caesarean section in advance compared to lower wealth index quantiles. This study contributed to the current phenomenon that the richest women tend to deliver by caesarean section as an elevated social status compared to vaginal birth.
