Abstract

Public speaking anxiety and self-efficacy are significant factors affecting students' performance in language learning, particularly in Arabic. This study explores the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety among 9th-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Negeri 4 Karanganyar. Understanding this relationship is essential for developing strategies to enhance students' speaking skills and reduce anxiety. The primary objective of this research is to determine the influence of self-efficacy on public speaking anxiety among 9th-grade students. A quantitative research approach was adopted, utilizing Likert scale questionnaires for data collection. The population consisted of 155 9th-grade students, from which a sample of 61 students was randomly selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected using Bandura's (1997) General Self-Efficacy Scale and Lang's (1971) Public Speaking Anxiety Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The study found a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety. Students with higher self-efficacy levels exhibited lower levels of anxiety when speaking in public. Specifically, self-efficacy accounted for 79.9% of the variance in public speaking anxiety, with a t-value of -15.291 and a significance level of p < 0.05. These findings indicate that enhancing self-efficacy can substantially reduce public speaking anxiety among students. Improving students' self-efficacy is crucial in mitigating public speaking anxiety, which in turn can enhance their academic performance and confidence. The implications of this study suggest that educational institutions should implement programs and strategies aimed at boosting self-efficacy to create a supportive learning environment. Future research should explore additional factors influencing public speaking anxiety and develop comprehensive approaches to address this issue.

Abstract

This article aims to critically explain the method of al-Tafsīr al-Tauḥīdī by Ḥasan al-Turābī and its position amongst other thematic commentary theories. This study is a descriptive qualitative study by employing content analysis theory. The results indicate the trend of al-Tafsīr al-Tauḥīdī in two meanings. The first is as a commentary paradigm which leans on the unity of man and the universe in the message of the God's revelation. The second is as the form of thematic commentary of al-Waḥdah al-Mauḍū‘iyyah model. Therefore, this commentary is more appropriately categorized into al-Tafsīr al-Muṣhafī bi al-Waḥdah al-Mauḍū'iyyah. It has three systematic explanation in each surah including Khulāṣah Hady al-Sūrah, Tartīl al-Ma'āni, and Umūm al-ma'āni. Al-Turābī's ability to unite various related elements in his commentary is not only between verses or surahs but also between human life and all its activities with the universe in a bond of al-Qur'an guidance which is core to monotheism. This is the advantage it has and is a new method in commentary literacy in Sudan. In fact, the method of al-Tafsīr al-Tauḥīdī generally becomes a framework for the whole civilization project of al-Turābī. However, there are some critics towards his commentary regarding rationality and rejection of several authentic hadiths which seem to leave riwāyah in the commentary of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This research examines the relevance between the values of akhlak education In Adnan and Syahid's Tafsir with education law in Indonesia, the perspective of the surah Luqman. The research uses content analysis methods with hermeneutic approaches and comparative methods. The results show that the value of ethical education in interpreting the al-Qur'an Suci Basa Jawi and the Tafsir Al-Huda in principle is similar. Both broadly transmit Javanese noble values, which include: (1) Tawheed, (2) Filial piety to both parents, (3) Gratitude, (4) Patience, (5) Wisdom, (6) Simplicity, (7) Sincerity, and (8) the value of honesty. The relevance of the values of akhlak education above with the Indonesian education law emerges in attitudes and actions (1) Religion, (2) Discipline, (3) Independence and Responsibility, (4) Honesty, and (5) Concern for the social and natural environment. From an early age, make them habits when they are adults.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to determine the understanding and application of religious tolerance verses among boarding school high school students in the Soloraya area. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers. The findings show a positive understanding of religious tolerance verses in such schools. Students gain this understanding through formal and informal social guidance and interaction. They display tolerant behavior towards both Muslim and non-Muslim individuals. A variety of factors contribute to the development of tolerant attitudes, including student background, teacher understanding, effective classroom management, family roles, and harmonious relationships between school and family. Boarding schools such as MATIQ Isy Karima, Muhammadiyah Trensains, IT Al-Huda, Daarul Fath, Baitul Qur'an, and Al-Muayyad have implemented the values of tolerance through formal and informal activities. The article recommends concrete measures to increase tolerance among boarding school students, such as the implementation of a multicultural pesantren curriculum, visits by religious leaders, inclusive social activities, house of worship visits, and interfaith seminars

Abstract

This research aims to reveal and explain the use of Pegon script in the translation of the manuscript of Masā'il al-Ta'līm, one of the popular books of fiqh in Javanese pesantren. This article is the result of qualitative descriptive research using philology research methods by utilizing manuscripts, books, research results, internet sites, and journals to examine matters relating to the development of Pegon characters in the 17th century AD contained in the manuscript of Masā'il al-Ta'līm. The findings of this study: 1) in terms of age, it can be proved that this manuscript was written in the 17th century based on the numbers and letters in the calendar in the manuscript which implies that the Pegon text in the text Masā'il at-Ta'līm is a form The oldest Pegon that can still be found, 2) the shape of the Pegon letter in the 17th century there is no striking difference with the writing of Pegon today even though it only looks a little different. === Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menjelaskan penggunaan aksara Pegon dalam penerjemahan naskah Masā’il al-Ta’līm salah satu kitab fiqh yang populer di pesantren Jawa. Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan metode penelitian filologi dengan memanfaatkan manuskrip, buku-buku, hasil penelitian, situs-situs internet, dan jurnal untuk menelaah hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan aksara Pegon pada abad ke-17 M yang termuat di dalam naskah Masā’il al-Ta’līm. Temuan penelitian ini: 1) dari segi usia, bisa dibuktikan bahwa naskah ini ditulis abad ke-17 M berdasarkan angka dan huruf di dalam penanggalan di dalam naskah yang berimplikasi bahwa teks Pegon di dalam naskah Masā’il at-Ta’līm ini merupakan bentuk Pegon yang paling tua yang masih bisa ditemukan, 2) bentuk huruf Pegon pada abad ke-17 tidak terdapat perbedaan yang mencolok dengan penulisan Pegon dewasa ini walaupun hanya terlihat sedikit perbedaan.

Abstract

Hadis, yang memuat perkataan, tindakan, atau keputusan Nabi, tidak muncul tanpa latar belakang. Perubahan dan perbedaan kondisi setelah hadis muncul secara tidak langsung memengaruhi tingkat keasliannya. Oleh karena itu, mengembangkan cara memahami hadis dan mengadaptasi pemahamannya dengan situasi kontemporer menjadi krusial. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi dan KH Ali Mustafa Ya'qub adalah dua tokoh terkemuka dalam studi hadis kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi metodologi pemahaman hadis kedua tokoh tersebut dan menganalisis persamaan serta perbedaan metodologinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Yusuf Al-Qaradawi dikenal dengan pendekatannya yang berbasis pada maqāṣid al-sharī'ah (tujuan hukum Islam), sementara KH Ali Mustafa Ya'qub menekankan keaslian hadis melalui kritik sanad dan matan. Pemikiran keduanya menjadi inspirasi bagi akademisi dan ulama kontemporer untuk senantiasa menjaga kemurnian hadis sekaligus menghidupkannya sebagai sumber nilai moral, sosial, dan spiritual.

Abstract

Thematic interpretation of psychological verses is the work of Moh. Abdul Kholiq Hasan published after Tafsir Rabbana. This interpretation is written to to form it simpler for somebody to get it the relationship of verses in the Quran. This tafsir work was written by Hasan who did not have a psychology education background. So that the author is interested in doing this research aims to see how Hasan sorts out the verses of psychology in the Quran. The author tries to explain the intellectual journey of the mufassir, the works of the mufassir and the results of the analysis of the thematic interpretation method of psychological verses using Baidan's interpretation theory. The results of this study explain that Hasan wrote this work because of the demands as a lecturer and became an alternative for students who are not accustomed to reading the interpretation of the Koran as a whole because the method used is thematic which examines verses with certain themes and uses psychological patterns.

Abstract

Studi ini membandingkan metode literal yang digunakan dalam terjemahan Al-Qur'an oleh Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia tahun 2019 dengan metode interpretatif yang digunakan dalam Tafsir Al-Mishbah karya Quraish Shihab melalui analisis kualitatif komparatif terhadap ayat-ayat tertentu. Terjemahan harfiah unggul dalam akurasi leksikal-gramatikal dan kesetiaan terhadap teks sumber, menjadikannya ideal untuk studi teologis akademis, tetapi kaku dan oleh karena itu kurang jelas bagi pembaca umum. Sebaliknya, tafsiriyyah memprioritaskan makna kontekstual dengan bahasa yang mengalir, meningkatkan pemahaman publik, meskipun rentan terhadap subjektivitas interpretatif. Kedua metode saling melengkapi; model hibrida direkomendasikan: terjemahan harfiyyah dasar ditambah catatan tafsiriyyah untuk ayat-ayat kompleks. Pendekatan ini menyeimbangkan ketepatan ilmiah dan keterjangkauan untuk dakwah di Indonesia kontemporer.

Abstract

Arabic language learning in the digital era faces various challenges, such as low learning motivation, limited variety of teaching methods, and the need for more engaging and contextual media. Audiovisual media is a widely used alternative because it can present learning more concretely through a combination of sound, images, and visualizations, thus helping students understand the material more easily. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of audiovisual media based on research trends over the past five years using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data were collected through Google Scholar with the help of Publish or Perish and filtered using inclusion and exclusion criteria to obtain 36 articles eligible for analysis. Each article was reviewed based on the focus of media use, targeted language skills, learning outcomes, and reported challenges. The analysis results show that audiovisual media is effective in increasing motivation, attention, conceptual understanding, vocabulary mastery (mufrodat) and listening skills (maharah istimā’). The most widely used media type is video, followed by YouTube, animation, film, and other social media platforms. However, the use of audiovisual media for speaking (maharah kalām), conversation (muhādatsah), and writing (kitābah) skills remains limited. Challenges that often arise include suboptimal media quality, student reliance on visual materials, limited technological resources, and varying levels of teachers' digital competence. This study recommends improving teachers' abilities in designing simple audiovisual media, integrating them with active learning strategies, and utilizing alternative platforms in environments with limited facilities.
