Abstract

Road transportation accidents are the eighth leading cause of death worldwide, reaching 1.35 million people annually (WHO, 2021). Data from the NTMC Korlantas Polri for 2019-2021 shows that the number of road transportation accidents in Indonesia is above 100 thousand every year. This study identifies latent and active failure factors contributing to Indonesia's land transportation accidents to determine the causes of accidents comprehensively. This study uses secondary data with 320,084 traffic accident case reports in 2019-2021 belonging to the NTMC Korlantas Polri. The method used is qualitative by analyzing based on the Swiss Cheese Model. The results of this study indicate latent failure factors in road transportation accidents in Indonesia in 2019-2021, namely the initial condition of the brake vehicle not functioning (5.7%), occurring on roads with suitable conditions (92.5%), occurring in sunny weather conditions ( 92.3%), and bright/clear lighting conditions (79.1%). Active failure factors in land transportation accidents in Indonesia in 2019 - 2021 are the age of drivers aged 22 – 29 years (15.7%), drivers with a senior high school education/equivalent (48.4%), drivers who do not have a driver's license (28.3 %), and drivers who are careless towards traffic from the front (19.0%).

Abstract

The death rate due to elevators in the world at 1999-2009 was 263 people, caused by 57% falling, 18% being pinched, 17% falling by objects, and 9% other causes. This research method was a descriptive quantitative, cross-sectional study with 200 people. Psychosocial factors related to workload and work speed, job control, organizational function, interpersonal relationships, organizational roles, career development, home-work interface, psychological demands, participation or supervision, bullying and violence. There is a relationship between work stress and at-risk behavior. Behaviors that often arise when employees experience work stress are rushing at work decisions. The highest work stress complaints were related to physiological complaints, namely the consumption of headache relievers; behavioral complaints, namely interrupting and cutting other people's sentences; emotional complaints, namely refusal to go to work; Cognitive complaints are difficulty thinking clearly and concentrating. PT X should conduct a more comprehensive risk assessment, clarify career development, and recalculate the workload, effectiveness and efficiency to prevent negative impact on employees' work-life balance.

Abstract

It is a well-known fact that the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the work stressors of nurses, which were already a problem previously, causing great distress. Hence, the need for effective coping strategies has been realized to prevent such distress, especially if a pandemic recurs. Determining how the types of coping strategies used by nurses impact their distress level in COVID-19 Pandemic. This review was conducted using the PRISMA Statement Recommendations Checklist and PRISMA—Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-SCR). The databases used were Willey Library, Science Direct, SCOPUS, and Springer Link for the literature search. Nurse and (“coping type” or “brief cope”) and COVID were the keywords used for search. The search was carried out using the following initial filters: “English and Indonesian,” language, and “free full text” availability. Only original research articles with a sample of nurses and a focus on coping with the COVID-19 pandemic were synthesized. The review contained 21 articles in total. In the Brief-COPE framework, an instrument designed to measure the types of coping strategies, there are several ways of classifying the types of coping strategies: based on outcome, engagement, stressor management goals, and source of support. The top coping strategies were acceptance, active coping, planning, religion, positive reframing, and seeking emotional support. Avoidance coping strategies significantly increase one’s depression and anxiety, while acceptance and positive reframing protect against anxiety and depression. This knowledge forms the basis of planning and designing a stress management program for dealing with extreme work stressors, such as pandemics. Future research should investigate how different types of stressors influence the use of coping strategies and distress in other situations. Keywords: coping type, COVID-19, distress, nurse   Abstrak Strategi Mengatasi Distress Perawat dalam Menghadapi Pandemi COVID-19: A Scoping Review.
