Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem-based learning pollution of bleach waste to improve critical thinking skills. The method used was quasi experimental by using the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was all of students in grade XI IPA one of Senior High School in Bandarlampung. The Samples of this research are XI IPA 2 as experiment class and XI IPA 5 as control class that obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used parametric statistic with t-test. The results showed that the average n-gain in the experiment class included in the high category, and the n-gain in the control class belongs to the medium category and there is a significant difference of postes average value in the control class and experiments. The result showed that implementation of problem-based learning pollution of bleach waste was effective in improving the critical thinking skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah pencemaran limbah pemutih dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA salah satu SMA di Bandarlampung. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan uji t.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain di kelas eksperimen berkategori tinggi, sedangkan n-gain di kelas kontrol berkategori sedang, serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai rata-rata postes di kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah pencemaran limbah pemutih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswaKata kunci:  pembelajaran berbasis masalah, pencemaran limbah pemutih, keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the effectiveness of predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model in thermochemical of inferencetion skill and mastery concept.  Students who became the subject of this research was grade XI IPA1 SMA Gajah Mada in Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research used the preexperimental method and one group pretest-posttest design.  The effectiveness of POE learning model was determined based on the average of normalization gain (n-gain).  The results of this research showed that the average of n-gain of inferencetion skill and mastery concept was 0.59 and 0.67.  Thus, it can be concluded that the POE learning model in thermochemical effective to enhance skill inference and concept mastery in medium category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) pada materi termokimia dalam meningkatan keterampilan inferensi dan penguasaan konsep.  Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-Eksperimen dan desain One-Group pretest posttest.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran POE diukur berdasarkan nilai normalisasi gain (n-gain).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-gain keterampilan inferensi dan penguasaan konsep masing-masing 0,59 dan 0,67.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran POE pada materi termokimia efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan inferensi dengan kriteria sedang dan penguasaan konsep dengan kriteria sedang.Kata Kunci:  keterampilan inferensi, penguasaan konsep, pembelajaran poe.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model in solubility and solubility product concept to enhance giving reason and identifying conclusion skills.  Students who became the subject of this research was  XI grade of Science 1 Batanghari Senior High School in Batanghari Academic Year 2011/2012.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of giving reason and identifying conclusion skills were 0,39 and 0,72.  Thus, it can be concluded that the problem solvinglearning model in solubility and solubility product concept effective to enhance giving reason skill in medium category and effective to enhance identifying conclusion skill ept in high category.Keywords: problem solving learning, giving reasons skill, and identifying                    conclusions skill.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe the effectiveness of the learning model in improving problem solving skills and mastery of concepts to classify colloidal material. Learning model of problem solving is one of constructivism based learning model consists of five phases. The research was done in class XI High School IPA4 YP Unila Bandar Lampung. This study used a pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving is measured by the difference in the mean score of the pretest and posttest as indicated by the value of n-Gain skill grouping and mastery of concepts, 0.41 and 0.29. Based on the study hypothesis testing, the results obtained after using a model of learning problem solving skills and his mastery of concepts classify higher than before the learning model of problem solving. This suggests a model of learning by effectively increasing the skills of problem solving and concept mastery group class XI science in colloidal material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid. Model problem solving merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivisme yang terdiri dari lima tahap pembelajaran. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di kelas XI IPA SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode preksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan rerata skor pretes dan postes yang ditunjukkan rerata nilai n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,41 dan 0,29. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran yang menggunakan model problem solving memiliki rerata nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI IPA pada materi koloid. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran problem solving, keterampilan mengelompok-kan, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of POE learning model in reaction rate concept to enhance identifying conclusion skill.  Students who became the subject of this research was  XI grade of Science 1 Bandar Lampung Senior High School in Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of POE  learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of identifying conclusion skill was 0,65.  Thus, it can be concluded that the POE learning model in reaction rate concept effective to enhance identifying conclusion skill in medium category. Keywords: POE learning and identifying conclusions skill

Abstract

The design of this research is survey research. This study aimed to explore seventh-grade science teachers’ perception of laboratory activity on mixture separation topics and match them with available evidence from learning document. The sample comprised 10 seventh grade science teachers, purposively sampled from seventeen teachers. Questionnaires and interview guidelines were used to collect data. The results show that while teachers’ perceptions of mixture separation topics in science classrooms are inadequate. Caused, there was a mismatch between teachers’ perceptions, learning document, and what was taking place in the science classroom. The study may inform teachers’ performance in teaching mixture separation topics in science. It is recommended that teacher on learning should be used to practice worksheet and assessment of laboratory activity, as most of the teachers do not record marks regularly for laboratory activity. Furthermore, laboratory activity prepared by the teacher should be arranged in a lesson plan and practice schedules.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran berbasis proyek atau project based learning (PjBL) merupakan model pembelajaran di mana siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan melalui suatu proyek dalam jangka waktu tertentu, untuk menyelidiki dan menanggapi pertanyaan kompleks.  Pada model ini, pembelajaran dirancang berdasarkan masalah kehidupan nyata dan ber­sifat ill-structured, sehingga siswa menjadi terdorong lebih aktif dalam belajar dan kreativitas siswa menjadi berkembang. Akan tetapi faktanya kemampuan guru dalam menerapkan model ini relatif rendah.  Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pelatihan penyusunan LKS berbasis model PjBL. Tujuan dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman guru IPA tentang model PjBL, dan keterampilan guru IPA dalam menyusun LKS berbasis PjBL.  Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi, dan pendampingan. Kegiatan ini  dilaksanakan di gedung G FKIP Universitas Lampung.  Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru IPA yang tergabung dalam MGMP IPA Kota Bandar Lampung dan Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Model evaluasi program yang digunakan adalah model evaluasi Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP). Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, dapat dinyatakan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahaman guru tentang model PjBL, hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai postes dibandingkan nilai pretes dengan n-gain rata-rata sebesar 0,88 (kategori tinggi); dan meningkatnya keterampilan guru dalam menyusun LKS berbasis model PjBL DOI: https://doi.org/10.23960/rp/v1i2.hal.74-81

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the inquiry lesson model on the buffer solution material to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research sample was grade XI students of a senior highschool in Bandarlampung which obtained by using purposive sampling technique. In the control class, direct instruction learning was applied and in the experimental class was the inquiry lesson. The research used a quasi-experimental design with The Matching-Only Pretest- Post-test Control Group. The research data were analyzed using the n-gain calculation and parametric statistics with the t-test. The results showed that the post-test average score of critical thinking skills in the experimental class and the control class had a significant difference and the average n-gain in the experimental class was 0.48 (moderate category). Thus, it can be concluded that the Inquiry Lesson model is effective for improving students' critical thinking skills.Keywords: Inquiry lesson, buffer solution, critical thinking skills Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model inquiry lesson pada materi larutan penyangga untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA sebuah SMA Negeri di Bandarlampung yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Pada kelas kontrol diterapkan pembelajaran langsung dan pada kelas eksperimen diterapkan inquiry lesson.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain The Matching-Only Pre-test - Post-test Control Group. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan n-gain dan statistik parametrik dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata postes keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan serta n-gain rata-rata di kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,48 (berkategori sedang).  Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Inquiry Lesson efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.  Kata kunci: Inquiry Lesson, larutan penyangga, keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to investigate the Science teachers' perception toward e-worksheet based on chiken manure waste treatment projects to improve students' creative thinking skills. The method used in this research is mixed methods with Sequential Explanatory Design. The data was collected through questionnaire, then analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The questionnaires were distributed to 14 Science teacher respondents and 127 junior high school students in North Metro District. The result shows that teacher have a positive perception toward usage of the electronic students' worksheets based on chiken manure waste treatment projects. The results showed that 79% of teachers had not used project-based e-worksheets; based on students' response questionnaires, 37% of teachers have given project assignments, but the projects were not based on real problems in the environment. Environmental problems that occur in North Metro District is the amount of chicken manure waste issue that causes pollution to the environment around society’s houses. The current worksheets has not completely train students' creative thinking skills and that's skills was in low category. Based on the result It can be concluded that a e-worksheet based on chiken manure waste treatment projects is needed to improve students' creative thinking skills

Abstract

This research aims to find out more about teacher perceptions in students' scientific creativity as a basic for project-based learning models as well as provide information about the use of project-based learning programs that are in accordance with PjBL syntax at the junior high school level in Metro City. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study approach, data collection techniques used are interviews (interviews), observation and documentation. Then to ensure the validity of the data using technical triangulation and source triangulation followed by data analysis with the research flow, namely identifying problems, determining research designs, determining research roles, determining data collection procedures, data recording, data analysis and verification, and narrating the research results obtained. The results of this research indicate that 54% of teachers have not used the PjBL learning model in learning and the teacher's perception of PjBL is good, but 62% of teachers do not know the PjBL syntax that must be fulfilled in using this learning model. In relation to scientific creativity, teachers do not know what indicators must exist in assessing students' scientific creativity
