Abstract

Penggunaan bahan pakan asal limbah dalam ransum unggas memerlukan proses pengolahan bahan baku yang tepat apabila dijadikan pakan sumber protein atau energi dan diperlukan uji ransum pada unggas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan produk kulit ubi kayu dan limbah ikan tongkol fermentasi (KUKLIF) menggunakan inokulum Waretha yang terdiri dari bakteri Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Sebanyak 100 ekor DOC ayam broiler strain New Lohmann. (MB-202 Platinum) digunakan dan diberi ransum perlakuan selama 5 minggu. Perlakuan adalah pemakaian KUKLIF dalam ransum. Ransum disusun dengan isoprotein 22% dan isoenergi 3.000 kkal/kg. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan ransum dan 4 kali ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari R0: (kontrol, 0% KUKLIF), R1 (5%), R2 (10%), R3 (15%), R4 (20%). Peubah yang diamati adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum, dan persentase karkas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan level penggunaan produk KUKLIF dalam ransum menunjukkan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan, namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konversi ransum, serta berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap persentase karkas. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah bahwa level penggunaan KUKLIF dalam ransum ayam broiler dapat diberikan sampai 15% dan dapat mempertahankan performa ayam broiler, dengan konsumsi ransum 669,30 g/ekor/minggu, pertambahan bobot badan 393,81 g/ekor/minggu, konversi ransum 1,70, dan persentase karkas 76,37%.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas sediaan simplisia dan ekstrak etanol tanaman ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) terhadap histopatologi organ limpa ayam broiler yang diinfeksi virus Newcastle Disease (ND). Materi penelitian ini menggunakan DOC ayam broiler CP 707 berjumlah 24 ekor, tanaman ciplukan (ekstrak dan simplisia), isolat ND velogenik, Vaksin ND live komersil Medivac ND®, Ransum komplit broiler komersil. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan kombinasi perlakuan diperoleh sebanyak 8 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis of varian (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan sangat nyata p<0,01 antara kelompok perlakuan K1 dan K2 dengan E1, E2, E3, S1, S2 dan S3. Kelompok perlakuan S3 menunjukan perubahan histopatologi lebih baik dibandingkan E3. Kseimpulan pemberikan sediaan simplisia dan ekstrak etanol tanaman ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) memiliki efektivitas terhadap gambaran histopatologi organ limpa ayam broiler yang diinfeksi virus Newcastle Disease (ND) dalam bebrbagi tingkatan dosis.   Kata kunci: Physalis Angulata, Newcastle disease, Limpa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kualitas fisik (berat jenis, sudut tumpukan, kerapatan tumpukan, kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan, kadar air, dan ketahanan benturan) dari ransum pelet broiler berbasis sorgum manis (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench). Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah penggantian jagung dengan sorgum dalam ransum pelet broiler. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P1 (ransum tanpa mengandung sorgum), P2 (ransum dengan imbangan jagung dan sorgum 4 : 1), P3 (ransum dengan imbangan 1 : 1), P4 (ransum dengan imbangan 1 : 4), dan P5 (ransum menggantikan 100% jagung dengan sorgum). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan sorgum dengan imbangan yang berbeda dalam ransum pelet ayam pedaging berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P0,05) terhadap berat jenis, sudut tumpukan, kerapatan tumpukan, kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan, kadar air dan ketahanan benturan. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan pengaruh formulasi ransum yang berbeda berbasis biji sorgum manis terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P2, yakni ransum dengan imbangan jagung  dan sorgum 4 : 1. Perlakuan P2 termasuk kategori pelet yang baik dengan kadar air 10,88%, berat jenis 0,359 kg/liter, sudut tumpukan 35,790, kerapatan tumpukan 515,25 gram/liter, kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan 586,69 gram/ml, serta ketahanan benturan 98,52%.

Abstract

The broiler chicken farming industry in Indonesia continues to experience rapid growth in line with the increasing demand for chicken meat. To support the development of this industry, one of the main challenges that must be addressed is the availability, efficiency, and quality of feed. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) maggot oil as a feed additive on the performance, abdominal fat, and intestinal E. coli of broiler chickens. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each experimental unit consisted of 5 MB-212 P broiler chickens from PT. Japfa, with the following treatment details: R0 – 0% maggot oil in the feed; R1 – 0.5% maggot oil (14-day-old) in the feed; R2 – 1% maggot oil (14-day-old) in the feed; R3 – 0.5% maggot oil (28-day-old) in the feed; and R4 – 1% maggot oil (28-day-old) in the feed. Results of the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test showed that all measured parameters, except for abdominal fat, were significantly affected (P<0.05) by the supplementation of maggot oil in the feed. The addition of 1% maggot oil from 14-day-old larvae as a feed additive significantly improved broiler performance, as indicated by the highest feed intake of 352.28 g/bird, live weight of 1,058.5 g, carcass percentage of 83.44%, abdominal fat of 1.47%, and intestinal E. coli count of 4.00 × 10⁵ CFU/g.However, the supplementation of 1% maggot oil from 28-day-old larvae resulted in poorer broiler performance, as indicated by lower feed intake (286.90 g/bird) and a relatively high feed conversion ratio (FCR) of 2.03.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of incorporating fish oil as an omega-3 source on BSF maggot meal's production and nutritional composition when cultivated in a growth medium based on the mixed fermentation of ruminant blood and tofu. The study utilized BSF eggs, fresh blood, tofu, Probio_FM, and sardine fish oil. An experimental design was implemented, consisting of four treatment groups with three replications, following a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments involved varying levels of fish oil supplementation in the BSF larvae growth medium: 0 percent (control), 2 percent, 4 percent, and 8 percent. The measured parameters included BSF maggot production and the nutritional content of BSF maggot meal. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that fish oil supplementation in the fermented blood and tofu growth medium did not significantly affect (P > 0.05) BSF maggot production. However, it had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on crude ash content and a highly significant effect (P < 0.01) on dry matter, crude protein, and crude fat content in BSF maggot meal. Supplementing fish oil at a 4 percent level resulted in a BSF maggot yield of 126.50 grams, with a dry matter content of 96.69 percent, crude protein at 32.35 percent, crude fat at 33.04 percent, and ash content at 6.22 percent.

Abstract

Oil supplementation has abundance of benefit for animals due to its fatty acid content. Otherwise, oil supplementation is being limited due to its effect on coating feed in digestive system and lead animal to hardly digest others nutrient. Moreover, with proper treatment, animal may gain immense benefit from it. Much previous research was conducted on giving oil supplementation yet there are many things remain to be addressed. This article investigated the developing of oil supplementation and finding a gap to be filled to encourage the potential of oil supplementation in Indonesia. There are many items shown on this article such as types of oil, variables, level of oil supplementation and protection used. The result showed that in vivo method used more frequently than in vitro method and Lemuru fish oil was used most rather than another type of oil with the level was on 2 and 3%. Types of animals mostly used is sheep with parameters examined was digestibility. Much previous research also showed that many oil supplementation used protection treatment such as saponification. Furthermore, this article showed that there is mostly parameter used and types of animals and variety of oil supplementation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa ayam KUB umur 6 sampai 12 minggu yang diberi maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly) dalam ransum. Ayam KUB umur 6 minggu digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 ekor. Pemberian perlakuan berupa tepung maggot dalam ransum dilakukan sampai ayam umur 12 minggu. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah P1 (0% maggot), P2 (7% maggot), P3 (14% maggot), P4 (21% maggot), dan P5 (28% maggot). Ransum disusun dengan iso protein dan energi yaitu protein 17,5% dan energi 2800kkal/kg. Parameter performa yang diamati yaitu konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum. Dari penelitian yang dilakuakan menunjukkan hasil bahwa pemberian maggot BSF dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, namun berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan konversi ransum. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tepung maggot BSF sebanyak 14% dalam ransum dapat memberikan performa yang baik pada ayam KUB.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the nutritional content of black soldier fly (BSF) maggot meal after undergoing steaming and roasting processes. Steaming was aimed at reducing the crude fat content in the maggot meal, while roasting was intended to accelerate the drying process of fresh maggots. The maggots used in this study were 28-day-old maggots fed with quail manure. The research method employed was an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments and four replications. The treatments given were: A (maggots not steamed and not roasted), B (maggots not steamed and roasted), C (maggots steamed and not roasted), and D (maggots steamed and roasted). Parameters analyzed included dry matter (%), ash content (%), crude protein (%), and crude fat (%). The results of variance analysis showed that the processing had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the dry matter, ash content, crude protein, and crude fat content of the resulting maggot meal. The conclusion of this study is that the combined application of steaming and roasting significantly reduced the fat content in maggot meal by up to 87% and increased the protein content by 4%. This processing technique resulted in a product with enhanced quality, extended shelf life, and broader application potential in the feed industry.
