Abstract

Penggunaan asam organik sebagai pengganti antibiotik sangat efektif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efek pemberian kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik terhadap total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin dan nilai hematokrit broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah P0 adalah broiler yang mendapat pakan tanpa kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik, P1 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 1 g/kg pakan, P2 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 2 g/kg pakan dan P3 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 3 g/kg pakan. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan hematology analyser, pemeriksaan sampel dilakukan di Balai Besar Veteriner Denpasar. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel darah dari 24 ekor broiler yang diberi perlakuan berbeda. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji sidik ragam. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa penambahan kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik asam organik dan anorganik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume atau hematokrit (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian asam organik dan anorganik tidak memengaruhi (mempertahankan) total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume broiler. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tidak memengaruhi (mempertahankan) total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume broiler.

Abstract

Abstract Base on the ability for surviving at the limited vegetations, bali cattle is famous  as a pioneer cattle.  Although the fertility of Bali cattle has  known   so high (up to 80%), but  the slaughter  of productive  female  of bali cattle from year to year is so high too, so that the existance of Bali cattle in the future is threatened extinct. The accurate data  indicating  the amount of Bali cattle slaughtered  at  the abbatoirs are  not available yet, exactly from the Pesanggaran and Mambal  abbatoirs as  the bigger abbatoirs in Bali.  The study used 246 heads of  Bali cattle originated from Pesanggaran, and 232 heads of  Bali cattle originated from Mambal abbatoirs, respectively. The study indicated as many as   81,7%, and 87,5% of Bali cattle slaughtered  at  those abbatoirs  were female. According to their  ages, most of them were  productive too, i.e.  99% at Pesanggaran, and 67,49% at Mambal abbatoirs, respectively. These  result  indicated  it is needed a  special attention from the Bali government exactly from the Animals Husbandry Officer in order to prevent the loss of Bali cattle populations  in the future.

Abstract

Pig cysticercosis is an infection caused by the larval stage of pork tapeworm and Papua is one of the largest endemic areas of cysticercosis in Indonesia. This survey aim was to determine the seroprevalence of pig cystisercosis in Papua. A total of 311 pig serum samples collected from six regencies in Papua were examined using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The result of the survey showed that the average seroprevalence of pig cysticercosis in Papua was 23.5% (73/311), where the highest seroprevalence was found in the regency of Jayawijaya was 42.6% (43/101), Biak 22.5% (9/40), Nabire 20.6% (7/34), Mimika 17% (8/47), Jayapura 13.5% (5/37), and Merauke 1.9% (1/52). It can be concluded that the seroprevalence of pig cysticercosis in Papua is still high, therefore, it is necessary to do more intensive programs to prevent and control this disease. ABSTRAK Sistiserkosis pada babi adalah infeksi yang disebabkan oleh stadium larva cacing pita, dan Papua merupakan salah satu daerah endemis sistiserkosis di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan seroprevalensi sistiserkosis pada babi di Papua. Sebanyak 311 sampel serum babi yang dikumpulkan dari enam kabupaten di Papua diuji dengan Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan seroprevalensi sistiserkosis pada babi di Papua sebesar 23,5% (73/311), dan seroprevalensi terbesar ditemukan di Kabupaten Jayawijaya 42,6% (43/101), Biak 22,5% (9/40), Nabire 20,6% (7/34), Mimika 17% (8/47), Jayapura 13,5% (5/37), dan Merauke 1,9% (1/52). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa seroprevalensi sistiserkosis pada babi di Papua masih tinggi, sehingga diperlukan program yang lebih intensif untuk mencegah dan mengontrol penyakit ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas susu sapi perah terbaik yaitu sapi Fries Holland (FH) yang berumur 5 tahun dan 10 tahun ditinjau dari uji organoleptik dengan 4 parameter yaitu uji warna, uji bau, uji rasa, dan uji kekentalan. Susu merupakan salah satu kebutuhan hewani yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kualiatas kesehatan masyarakat. Untuk memperoleh susu segar yang baik, maka semua usaha harus ditujukan untuk memperkecil jumlah bakteri yang ada pada susu dengan memperhatikan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas susu, salah satunya yaitu umur sapi. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian observasional yang menggunakan sampel susu sapi perah FH. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi dan gambaran umum kualitas susu yang dihasilkan sapi FH di Desa Sibang, Kabupaten Badung. Sampel susu diambil dengan cara diperah secara langsung di Desa Sibang, Kabupaten Badung. Hasil pemerahan sapi yang berumur 5 tahun dan 10 tahun kemudian dilakukan uji organoleptik oleh 10 panelis terpilih. Sampel yang telah diperoleh selanjutnya dibawa ke Laboratorium Kesmavet Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan, Universitas Udayana. Data yang diperoleh dari laboratorium tersebut, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode uji tanda. Hasil dari penelitian terhadap uji organoleptik adalah tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) ditinjau dari uji rasa, bau, warna, dan kekentalan dari sapi FH umur 5 tahun dengan 10 tahun.

Abstract

Comparison of Total Protein Molecular Weight of Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L.) Plant Factory and Planted in the Ground Using SDS-PAGE. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a plant that contains nutrients and protein that are good for human needs. Lettuce is often found in Indonesian agriculture because lettuce has growing conditions that are very suitable for the Indonesian climate. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of protein profiles of lettuce plants grown on the ground with those grown using the hydroponic plant factory system. This research was conducted from May to June 2023 at the Laboratory of PT Genetika Science Indonesia, Tangerang City. This research stage consists of sampling, protein extraction, electrophoresis, and data analysis. Comparisons were made by comparing the two sample data that had been carried out by electrophoresis by looking at the molecular weights of each sample. Plants grown in the soil had higher molecular weights than those grown in the plant factory and each had 12 different proteins. Both samples produced two other same protein bands of 69.65 kDa and 11.97 kDa.

Abstract

Effect of Several Types of Lights on Yield of Green Curly Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) at Plant Factory. Light intensity is the most important factor in the process of plant growth, light sources that can be received by plants other than the sun can also use light. This research took place from March to April 2022. This research was conducted at the Plant Factory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jl. Moyo Island No. 16X, Pedungan, South Denpasar. In this research experiment the design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 types of lamp treatments, namely: LED grow light, white LED lamp, yellow fluorescent lamp, white fluorescent lamp, combination of white, yellow, far-red HPL lamps and white fluorescent lamps. HPL combination of red, blue, yellow and repeated 4 times. The results of statistical analysis showed that the type of lamp treatment had a very significant effect on all observed variables, except number of leaves, and root dry weight. The type of lamp treatment had an effect on the yield of lettuce grown at the plant factory and was indicated by the total fresh weight with a value of (171.50 g) and total dry weight with value of (5.09 g) which were significantly different from other treatments. The best type of lamp for lettuce growth and yield is the best yellow fluorescent lamp.

Abstract

Determination of D. crumenatum mutant obtained from in vitro mutation breeding needs a long time due to its long-life cycle. SSR molecular markers can be used for early mutant detection. Specific SSR markers developed in D. crumenatum are not yet available. Alternative published SSR markers were developed from D. catenatum. The aims of this study are to screen the most informative SSR markers generated from D. catenatum tested in irradiated D. crumenatum population and to determine the gamma irradiation dose resulting the most mutants. Ten SSR markers were randomly selected and tested in 25 individuals of D. crumenatum plantlets irradiated with several doses (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 Gy; 5 plantlets each dose). The result showed 7 of 10 primers were polymorphic and the other three were  monomorphic. All seven polymorphic primers can be used to identified intraspecific variation in the D. crumenatum mutant population. Markers dnsr28 and dnsr98 were the most informative, with the highest polymorphic information content (PIC) value of 0.5. Irradiation D. crumenatum protocorms using 10-15 gray doses were detected as the highest mutant percentage obtained up to 100% in the sample tested. This resulting marker information can be used to screen wider mutant population to decrease the non-mutant individuals in the population for maintenance and cost efficiency. The 10-15 Gy can be used as reference doses for gamma irradiation in 3 months old D. crumenatum protocorm materials.

Abstract

Antioxidants are compound that function as free radical scavengers, these compounds can be found in parijata fruit (Medinilla speciosa Blume). The secondary metabolites of this fruit can be identified by the GC-MS method. The aims of study to identification of phytochemical content and test the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of Parijata fruit (Medinilla speciosa Blume) in the Bedugul area of Bali. This method is used because it is more sensitive and the results of the analysis are easy to understand. Using the GC-MS method, 11 organic compounds with a quality value of ? 90 were found in the ethanol extract of parijata fruit which have antioxidant, antimicrobial, and others. The 3 compounds with the highest Area Under Curve were 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (AUC 31.05%); 1,2,3- Benzenetriol (AUC 22.32%); and 4H-pyran-4-one-2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl- (AUC 6.97%). These three compounds have antioxidant properties. Parijata fruit antioxidant activity test was tested with the DPPH method. The antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of parijata fruit has an IC50 value of 11.26 mg/L, in the category of very strong antioxidant activity. So that with this category, parijata fruit can be given further treatment as food for health. In addition, compounds with antimicrobial properties can be used as biopesticide products in agriculture.

Abstract

Indonesia is the third largest cocoa bean producing country in the world after Ghana and the Ivory Coast with current Indonesian cocoa bean production of 600,000 tons per year. The quality of cocoa is still relatively low compared to the harvest potential that should be obtained, such as the Sulawesi III clone which provides a yield potential of 2-2.4 tons per hectare. This study aims to obtain indigenous bacteria from Meko village so that the role of each bacteria can be further investigated. The results of growing bacteria on LB media found 25 isolates which were observed to have quite varied morphology including round and irregular shapes, having rough and dull and slimy surfaces, opaque, cloudy and colored (yellow and reddish) and having flat and rising elevations. Most of the bacteria obtained were rod-shaped, namely 23 were gram negative and three were gram positive. The shape of the cell is dominated by the shape of the rod, about 19 are rod-shaped and the remaining six are round.

Abstract

Strawberries (Fragaria sp.) have many varieties spread across Indonesia. Pancasari Village, Buleleng is a strawberry producing area in Bali, there are several strawberry varieties cultivated by strawberry farmers in Bali, including the Rosalinda variety which has a sweet taste and the Osogrande has a sour taste. The purpose of this research is to determine the compounds contained in the fruits of these two varieties and to determine their antioxidant activity. Phytochemical analysis was performed using the GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) method, antioxidant activity was performed using the DPPH method. The results showed that the thick ethanol extract of (Fragaria x Ananassa) the Rosalinda and Osogrande varieties contained the same compound, namely 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural which has a function as an antioxidant, with 7 compounds that have known uses in the Rosalinda variety and 11 compounds in the Osogrande variety. The antioxidant activity of thick ethanol extract of the Rosalinda strawberry fruit is higher with IC50 of 10,05 ppm than the thick ethanol extract of Osogrande variety strawberry fruit with IC50 of 10,47 ppm, which means both are classified as having very strong antioxidant activity.
