Abstract

Public construction projects often face challenges in controlling time and cost, including the maintenance project of the rooftop waterproofing of the IPU Building, 7th Floor, at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar, Malang City. This study aims to evaluate the project performance using the Earned Value Management (EVM) method, which integrates schedule and cost analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of project execution efficiency. The study was conducted up to the 5th week, with a work progress of 20.017%. The data used include the budget plan, S-curve, weekly reports, and actual project costs, analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The calculation results show that in the 4th week, the project experienced a cost deviation with a Cost Variance (CV) of -Rp47,228,379.15 and a schedule deviation with a Schedule Variance (SV) of -Rp16,025,142.49. The Cost Performance Index (CPI) of 0.76 indicates budget overrun, while the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) of 0.90 indicates a delay in execution. The estimated total cost at completion (EAC) is Rp939,260,546.02, exceeding the initial budget of Rp715,408,147.00, and the estimated total time for completion (EAS) is 9.42 weeks compared to the original plan of 9 weeks. These findings highlight the importance of implementing EVM to detect early project deviations and provide a quantitative basis for project performance evaluation

Abstract

Purpose: The case of manipulation in preparing financial reports in research carried out by university lecturers is a serious problem. This study aims to investigate the causes of lecturers having lack of accountability in their research financial reporting Methodology/approach: The systematic review method is used to conceptually explore why lecturers commit dishonest actions in financial reporting. The articles analyzed were 48 national and international journal articles from the Sinta and Google Scholar databases. Results/findings: The results show that fraud is influenced by information asymmetry, weak monitoring, and workload pressure from tridarma and publication demands. Universities should simplify reporting and enhance monitoring, while lecturers need work-life balance to reduce stress and improve accountability. Conclusion : Lecturers’ financial reporting issues stem from asymmetry, poor monitoring, and pressure. Improving oversight and work-life balance can enhance accountability. Limitations: : This study is limited to a literature review without primary data, so it cannot directly assess lecturers' understanding of financial accountability. Future research should use surveys or interviews. Contribution: This study confirms agency theory by highlighting information asymmetry and weak monitoring in universities. It provides a policy basis to enhance lecturer accountability, reduce fraud, and promote financial accountability and work-life balance.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMKs) are educational institutions that emphasize equipping students with specific skills that can be directly applied in the workforce, aiming to reduce unemployment rates. However, unemployment in Indonesia remains significantly high among SMK graduates, which is largely attributed to the low work readiness of students. This study aims to examine the influence of practical learning and field work practical experience (PKL) on the work readiness of class XII students in the Building Design, Modeling, and Information Expertise Program (DPIB) at SMK Negeri 6 Malang, both partially and simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative approach using a saturated sampling technique, with all 89 students of class XII DPIB participating as respondents. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires and observations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, multiple regression analysis, multiple correlation analysis, and calculations of relative and effective contributions, assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results indicate that both practical learning and field work experience have a significant and positive effect on students’ work readiness. When analyzed partially, each variable contributes differently: practical learning accounts for an effective contribution of 15.9% while field work experience contributes 48.2%. In terms of relative contribution, practical learning accounts for 24.8% and field work experience 75.2%. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that practical learning and field work experience significantly enhance the readiness of students to enter the workforce. This highlights the importance of integrating hands-on learning experiences and real-world field work into vocational education to better prepare students for professional environments and improve their employability. The study recommends that SMKs continue to strengthen practical learning curricula and provide ample field work opportunities to ensure graduates possess both the technical skills and work readiness necessary for successful employment.

Abstract

Keterlambatan proyek infrastruktur merupakan permasalahan yang umum terjadi di sektor konstruksi Indonesia dan berdampak pada peningkatan biaya, penurunan mutu, dan gangguan pelayanan publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab keterlambatan dan strategi mitigasinya melalui pendekatan systematic literature review (SLR). Sebanyak 13 artikel ilmiah terpilih yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 – 2025 dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 80 entri faktor penyebab keterlambatan yang dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam Sembilan kategori utama, dengan tiga kategori paling dominan yaitu faktor teknis (22 kemunculan), manajerial (20 kemunculan), dan kesternal (18 kemunculan). Faktor teknis mencakup kesalahan desain, metode pelaksanaan yang tidak sesuai, dan kondisi lapangan yang tidak terprediksi. Faktor manajerial berkaitan dengan lemahnya perencanaan, koordinasi, serta dokumentasi proyek, sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi cuaca buruk, pembebasan lahan, dan kebijakan regulasi. Strategi mitigasi yang ditemukan mencakup penggunaan teknologi (BIM), penjadwalan adaptif, pelatihan SDM, penguatan logistic, dan koordinasi lintas instansi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan secara menyeluruh dan kolaboratif dalam pengelolaan keterlambatan proyek infrastruktur.

Abstract

Groundwater is a natural resource used by humans to fulfil their living needs which should meet the Republik Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation No. 2/2023. Aim: This research aims to contribute to solve these challenges and meet the clean water quality standard. Methodology and Results: The groundwater sample was taken from the deep well of Al-Hikmah Mosque, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM). It was indicated to contain Fe and Mn, as evidenced by its yellowish colour when left undisturbed for some time. A laboratory-scale experiment was conducted for the deep well treatment and analysis. The treatment system consists of aeration, sedimentation, and filtration. The filtration unit comprises several natural media such as gravel, silica sand, zeolite, and activated charcoal. This experiment used detention times of 120 and 240 minutes as dependent variables. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: The results showed that detention times of 120 and 240 min have efficiency on turbidity reduction of 92.86% and 98.69%, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of 10.42% and 14.47%, Fe of 23.01%, Mn of 62.39% and 94.70%, and for CaCO3 of 2.98% and 11.17%, respectively. The research findings demonstrated that a detention time of 240 min generated water quality that met the Minister of Health No. 2/2023 standards. Detention times of 120 minutes and 240 minutes led to significant differences in water quality concerning temperature and CaCO3. The filtration system with a detention time of 240 minutes can be considered as an alternative groundwater treatment solution for the deep well of Al-Hikmah Mosque, Universitas Negeri Malang.

Abstract

One of the financing for construction work is financing sourced from foreign loans or grants/PHLN. This type of financing model always has guidelines set by the lender/lender. The procurement implementation guidelines created by these lenders are sometimes not in line with the Goods and Services Procurement Regulations in Indonesia, giving rise to the problem of delays in procurement implementation time in searching for potential construction service providers. The aim of the research is to evaluate the influence of regulations for the procurement of construction goods and services in Indonesia on the guidelines made by SFD lenders, causing progress in the implementation of construction tenders to be delayed. The research method used is to identify variable instruments owned by researchers from primary and secondary data, which are then developed into variables and indicators and processed using the nvivo application. From the results of the data processing, it was then evaluated and validated using data from interviews conducted with several service providers with PHLN. The results of the data processing showed that there were several factors that caused the procurement process to be completed late. The first factor is the existence of procurement regulations of the Republic of Indonesia which are not in line with the lender's guidelines, the second factor is the experience of actors procuring goods and services from PHLN funding sources, the third factor is the communication factor between relevant stakeholders and the fourth is the cultural factor possessed by the lender country.

Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Learning Model as an accelerator for increasing the textile motif design competency of Fashion Vocational High School (SMK) students. The focus is on the integration of PjBL in learning fashion design and production in vocational schools, which is considered important to prepare graduates to face the challenges of the dynamic fashion industry. The discussion includes the characteristics of textile motif design competencies, the literature study methods used, the findings, and the role of PjBL in increasing students' creativity, critical thinking, and cross-disciplinary skills. This article provides a comprehensive overview of how PjBL can improve the quality of vocational education, especially in developing the textile motif design competency of SMK Clothing students.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a role in producing workers who are ready to compete in the industrial world. To produce high-quality graduates, the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure is a key supporting factor. SMK Islam 1 Blitar is one of the schools designated as a Center of Excellence (PK) and has the responsibility of producing high-quality graduates. This study aims to describe the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMK Islam 1 Blitar in supporting its role as an SMK PK. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at this school is effective through the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. These findings are important for studying the management of SMK PKs in efforts to improve the quality of graduates so that they possess competencies aligned with the needs of the workforce and industry.
