Abstract

This village development program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders in optimizing the utilization of the economic potential of goat livestock production in the Anggoeya Village, Poasia District, Kendari City. The implementation of the village development program uses a participatory method through several stages of activity, namely program socialization and FGD, demonstration of forage planting plots for livestock, feed processing, and composting using goat manure. The results of the implementation of the village development program show that goat breeders are very enthusiastic about participating in all stages of the activity and can feel the benefits of this community service program in the form of additional goat husbandry knowledge and technology. Goat farmers now have forage gardens using quality Odot grass seeds as a solution for providing the sustainable feed. In addition, goat breeders can provide goat feed by making silage using agricultural waste such as banana cobs and straw from other plants. Goat farmers can also produce compost using good quality goat manure which is useful for fertilizing forage crops, developed and or sold as a supplement to their income.

Abstract

This service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised. The implementation of this service program uses group and individual counseling methods, which include non-physical and physical activities. Non-physical activities take the form of theoretical counseling using lecture and discussion methods. In contrast, physical activities are carried out using demonstration methods and field visits related to feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken rearing techniques using automatic hatching machines and intensive and semi-intensive seed production systems. The results of the implementation of this service program showed that the technical guidance activities for raising superior local chickens, which were carried out in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, received a positive and enthusiastic response from the local village government and partner breeders. This technical guidance activity for raising superior local chickens that combined non-physical activities in the form of theoretical counseling with lecture and discussion methods with physical activities in the form of demonstrations and field visits can be a solution to problems experienced by partner breeders. Implementation of this service program is effective in increasing the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken raising and breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised.

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture designated South Konawe Regency as a source area for Balinese cattle through Minister of Agriculture Decree (Kepmentan) No. 803/Kpts/PK.030/12/2016 where one of the buffer areas is Palangga District. The main problem for breeders in Palangga District is the limited forage during the dry season. In the dry season, breeders only provide minimal feed without paying attention to the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the provision. The lack of awareness among breeders regarding the provision and utilization of quality HPT in sufficient quantities has caused the majority of breeders to provide forage of low quality to the livestock they keep. The aim of this activity is to help farmers produce optimal production by handling animal feed problems. The results that have been achieved in this Thematic KKN are increasing the knowledge and understanding of farmers raising livestock farmers' awareness of providing and utilizing quality HPT in sufficient quantities and ensuring its continuity throughout the year so that livestock productivity can be maintained and increased.

Abstract

Goats are generally kept quite a lot and are livestock that have the potential to produce meat to meet protein of animal origin. This study aims to determine the difference between the body dimensions of local goats in Ladongi District, East Kolaka Regency with the research material of 165 Kacang goats and 121 Jawarandu goats. Peanut goats were divided into 3 age groups, namely (≤12 months, 13-24 months, >24 months) each with 87, 46, 32 heads, and Jawarandu goats were divided into 3 age groups (≤12 months, 13 months). -24 months, >24 months) each were 49, 33, 39 using a purposive sampling research method. Research parameters include the body measured includes body length, shoulder height, chest circumference, chest depth, hip height, hip width, and body weight. The data obtained were processed to obtain a correlation (r). The results showed that the age difference was very significant. The conclusion of the research variable that has the strongest correlation value in estimating body weight is chest circumference

Abstract

Meat is an animal food popular with all levels of society because it tastes delicious and contains high nutritional value. This study aimed to determine the correlation between body size dimensions and body weight, carcass, and meat in Bali cattle. This study was conducted at the Kolaka Regency Slaughterhouse (RPH), with the research object being Bali cattle aged ≥ 3 > 6 years, as many as 50 heads. The variables in this study consisted of Body weight, Carcass percentage, Meat percentage, Carcass length, Chest circumference, Chest depth, Thigh length, and Thigh circumference. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (r) between body measurements and Bali cattle's body weight, carcass, and meat varied. The variable between carcass length and the carcass had the lowest relationship, with an R-value of 0.363. At the same time, the variables that had a very strong relationship were the chest circumference and body weight variables, with an r-value of 0.928. In addition, the study's results also showed that the regression coefficient (Y, W, Z) of each body size in Bali cattle had a significant impact on body weight, carcass, and meat of Bali cattle. The chest circumference and thigh length factors directly influenced body weight, carcass, and meat.

Abstract

Penetasan merupakan tahapan yang pertama dalam usaha ternak unggas, untuk memperoleh bibit ayam yang berkualiatas harus ditunjang oleh proses penetasan yang benar. Banyak peternak unggas yang belum memahami tentang tata cara melakukan penetasan menggunakan mesin tetas sehingga memerlukan pendampingan atau pelatihan. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Internal UHO (PKMI UHO) yang dilakukan merupakan salah satu wadah bagi perguruan tinggi untuk membantu masyarakat khususnya peternak untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dimiliki. Kegiatan PKMI ini dilaksanakan di Desa Cialam Jaya Kabupaten Konawe Selatan dengan mitra adalah peternak ayam kampung. Permasalahan utama yang ditemukan adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan dan kemampuan mitra dalam melakukan penetasan menggunakan mesin tetas, solusi yang ditawarkan oleh Tim PKMI adalah melakukan pendampingan teknis terkait tahapan penetasan menggunakan mesin tetas sesuai dengan prosedur yang benar. Melalui Kegiatan ini mitra didampingi mengenai: seleksi telur, penyiapan mesin tetas, sanitasi telur, proses penetasan, peneropongan, dan panen DOC. Hasil yang dicapai oleh Tim PKMI dalam kegiatan ini yaitu mampu memberikan mitra tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang teknis penetasan menggunakan mesin tetas.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon produksi dan bobot telur ayam ras terhadap pemberian tepung daun kelor dengan level yang berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Lakawoghe, Kecamatan Kusambi, Kabupaten Muna Barat. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam ras petelur (Strain Isa Brown) yang berjumlah 80 ekor, terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Data yang diperoleh menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun kelor dalam pakan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap konsumsi pakan dan bobot telur, tetapi tidak pada produksi telur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi jenis plastik kemasan dan lama penyimpanan dan yang berbeda terhadap keasaman dan susut masak daging ayam broiler. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode percobaan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) model faktorial terdiri 2 faktor yaitu lama penyimpanan (faktor A) dan jenis kemasan (Faktor B). Faktor lama penyimpanan terdiri atas 4 taraf, sedangkan faktor jenis plastik kemasan terdiri atas 3 taraf. Masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa interaksi antara lama penyimpanan dan jenis kemasan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap keasaman (pH), dan susut masak daging ayam broiler. Secara mandiri lama penyimpanan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (p<0,05) terhadap pH namun tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (p>0,05) terhadap susut masak. Demikian pula jenis kemasan tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05) dengan pH dan susut masak daging ayam broiler. Disimpulkan bahwa kemasan plastik PE (Polyethylene) dan PP (Polypropylene) layak digunakan mengemas daging/karkas ayam broiler sampai empat hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan sari daun kelordi dalam air minum terhadap pertumbuhan ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan acaklengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan 4 ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekorayam broiler sehingga terdapat 16 unit percobaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sari daunkelor dan DOC (Day Old Chicken ) sebanyak 80 ekor yang dipelihara selam 35 hari.Parameter yang di ukur adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan (PBB), konsumsiair minum, dan konversi pakan. Data yang diperoleh di analisis secara sidik ragam dariRAL yang menunjukan bahwa pemberian sari daun kelor tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadapkonsumsi pakan, konsumsi air minum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan(P>0,05). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat fertilitas dan daya tetas telur ayam kampung hasil inseminasi buatan menggunakan konsentrasi larutan NaCl fisiologis berbeda. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, sehingga terdapat 20unit percobaan. Perlakuan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah P0 = perlakuan tanpa pengencer, P1 = 1:2 ml larutan NaCl fisiologis, P2 = 1:2,5 ml larutan NaCl fisiologis, P3 = 1:3 ml larutan NaCl fisiologis, P4 = 1:3,5 ml larutan NaCl fisiologis. Parameter yang diamati adalah fertilitas, daya tetas dan daya hidup embrio.
