Abstract

This research aims to determine the availability of processed snacks in elementary school in Bandar Lampung, students’ decision maker to consume the processed snacks and their consumption behavior, and analyze the differentiation of the students in consuming processed snacks, based on gender and nutritional status. This research is done in Kartika II-5 Elementary school and Rawa Laut 1 Elementary School.  The research data is collected from November 2014-March 2015 by survey method.  The research samples are 57 elementary school student of grade 4 and 13 food merchants.  The data is analyzed by descriptive analysis and Mann Whitney test.  The result showed that the availabilty of the processed snacks based on  nutrition contens  was not available enough.  There were30 kinds processed snacks in Kartika II-5 Elementary School and 15 kinds in Rawa Laut 1 Elementary School, that were available as the main meal and snack food.  The processed snacks made of carbohydrates source as majority of the raw materials, such as rice, flour, tapioca flour, corn and cassava.  The decision maker in consuming processed snacks was the student itself.  The processed snacks that were consumed by the students were mie instan, cireng, siomai, pempek and bakso tusuk.  Iinstant noodle was the most favorite food consumed by the students.  The average consumption frequency of each processed snacks were 3-6 times/month and the eating average per month of instant noodle, “cireng”, “siomai”, “pempek” and “bakso tusuk” were 440.70 grams; 324.21 grams; 1,056.14 grams; 466.67 grams and 137.54 grams respectively.  There was significant difference between the consumption of “siomai” by male and female students.  Male students tended to consume siomai 1,715 times more, than female students. Abstract

The purposes of this research were to analyze the household welfare level and household welfare distribution of salted anchovy fish processors.  This research was conducted by survey method in Pasaran Island Sub-District of Teluk Betung Barat of Bandar Lampung City.  This location was selected on purpose for it is the center of salted anchovy fish producer in Bandar Lampung.  All of the 38 active salted fish producers were recruited as respondents of this research.  The data analysis used in this research was descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis (statistics).  The household wealth distribution was calculated by the Gini index.  The results of this research showed that based on the indicator of BPS, the welfare of all households of salted anchovy fish producers were classified as the prosperous classes.  Likewise, based on the criteria of Sajogyo, all of them were classified as rich households. of the household expenditure approach, it showed that their value of Gini ratio based on Oshima criteria was 0.0948 for food expenditure, 0.1586 for non-food expenditure, and 0.1108 for total household expenditure.  While based on the World Bank criteria, 40 percent of food expenditure processing salted anchovy fish with the lowest expenditure amounted to 35.35 percent, non-food expenditures amounted to 31.73 percent, and household spending was 34.78 percent.  This suggests that low levels of inequality. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze factors affecting purchasing decision process and attitudes on evaluation of various brands of instant coffee powder.  The research samples were 99 students, selected from four faculties of the University of Lampung, who were met at the break time and agreed to be interviewed using questionnaires.  Data were analyzed using principal component analysis and Fishbeinmulti-atribute attitude analysis.  The results of this research showed that Torabika is the instant coffee powder brand was the most widely purchased, followed by Luwak White Koffie, Nescafe, Good Day, Kapal Api, ABC, and Indocafe. The results of factor analysis showed that the fourteen expected variables influenced the purchasing decision of instant coffee powder could be reduced into four main components.  The first principal component (internal factors) consists of aroma, flavor, consistency, and creamer.  The second principal components (external factors) consist of brand, advertising, pricing, and bonuses.  The third principal component (benefit factors) consists of reducing drowsiness and suitability of drinking with other food variables.  The fourth principal component (factors of excellence) consists of a non-pulpy, easily obtained.  Based on the evaluation of the consumer attitude variables, it showed that although the consumption of ABC brand was the least but it got the highest attitude value compared to other brands. If the attitudes of the students were sorted, ratings of the highest student attitudes were ABC, Nescafe, followed by Luwak White Koffie, Torabika, and Good Day.Key words: factor analysis, principal component analysis, analysis of Fishbein attitude, instant coffee

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze income and the level of food security as well as the factors that influence the food security of household corn farmers. This research was conducted by a survey method in Bandar Agung Village and Sri Pendowo Village, Sub-district of Bandar Sribhawono, East Lampung Regency. Data collection was carried out in February to March 2018 which was analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis and logistik ordinal statistical analysis. Samples of 69 household’s corn farmers were randomly selected by simple random sampling. The results of this study showed that cash income for corn farming per hectare in the first, secondand third planting season amounted to Rp12,872,858.32; Rp10,201,805.09 and Rp5,440,975.65. In average, household income of corn farmers in Sub-district of Bandar Sribhawono was Rp4,370,336.33. From the cross classification between energy suffeficiency and share of food expenditure which resulted four categories of corn farmers household’s food security,it showed that 7 households (10.14 %) were food resistant, 44 households (63.77 %) were less food, 5 households (7.25 %) were vulnerable to food and 13 households (18.84 %) were food insecure. The factors that influenced the level of food security of corn farmers in Bandar Sribhawono Sub-district were influenced by the food expenditure and household expenditure.Key words: corn farmers, food expenditure, food security, incom

Abstract

The aims of this research are to determine the consumers’ pattern on purchasing, attitudes, satisfaction, and loyalty to duck products at Bebek Belur Restaurant.  This research was conducted at two purposive location of Bebek Belur Restaurant in Bandar Lampung, at Z.A Pagar Alam Street Gedung Meneng and at Pramuka Street.  The samples of this research are 60 peoples who were selected by accidental sampling.  Research data was analyzed by descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative Fishbein Multiatribut Model, Consumer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and the loyalty pyramid.  The result of this research showed that purchasing patterns consisted of the total spending amounted Rp31,000-Rp50,000 per payment including only one portion of duck, the eating time was at noon (40%), and came to the restaurant alone or accompanied by one person.  The consumer attitude score (Ao) of duck products at Bebek Belur Restaurant amounted 16.42. Consumer of duck products were in the satisfied criteria amounted 72.69 percent. Consumers of duck products on the loyalty pyramid were categorized as loyal, because 83.33 percent of them were committed buyer.Key words: attitude, duck products, loyalty, satisfaction

Abstract

This research aims to analyze farming income and sustainability of farming practices of coffee certification farmers and coffee non-certification farmers in Tanggamus Regency.  This research used survey method.  The numbers of samples in this research were 44 respondents of certification farmers and 24 respondents of non-certification farmers.  The data was collected from August 2017 to November 2017.  The data was analyzed by quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis.  The results showed that farming income of certification farmers were higher than non-certification farmers.  Socially and environmental sustainable farming practices of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Sustainability of economy, social and environmental aspects of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Total of farming income of certification farmers and non-certification farmers were Rp16,330,309 per hectare and Rp10,637,482 per hectare.  About 93.20% of certification farmers’s farming were sustainable, while about 91.70% of non-certification farmers’s farming were quite sustainable. Key words: certification, coffee, farming, sustainability

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the amount of rainfed farming income, food security, and food consumption pattern of rainfed farmer households (HH).  This research was conducted by survey method at the villages of Taman Agung and Gunung Terang purposely, in which samples constituted of 61 rainfed farmers who were drawn by simple random sampling.  The data of this research was collected in April – May 2018 and analyzed by descriptive qualitativeand quantitative analysis.  The results showed that the rainfed farmer HH achieved the average of rice farming income of Rp15,233,220.63 at the first season and corn farming income of Rp9,097,835.38at the second season.  The HH income was Rp4,080,342.10 per month.  The level of food security as secure was 14.75%, as less was 22.95%, as vulnerable was 29.51%, and as food insecurity was 32.79%.  Consumption pattern obtained 81.97% as good on Variety of the Nutrition Adequacy (VNA) value, 3.28% as sufficient VNA value, 8.19% as moderate VNA value, and 6.56% as poor VNA value. Based on the number of types, the average consumption was 10.43 types of food per day.  The source of food was obtained from the results of farming, planting in the yard, buying, searching, and given.  Nutritional Adequacy Rate of HH for macro nutrients, the most heavily deficit was fat.  For micronutrients, the most deficits was calcium, while those that had normal criteria were vitamin A and iron. Key words: food security, household, income, nutrients

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to find out: the procurement process of raw materials to meet the six components (precise on time, place, quality, quantity, type, and price), the income and added value of tempeh agroindustry, the marketing mix in the marketing activities of tempeh product, and the supporting services’s role to tempeh agroindustry.  This research is a survey method conducted at purposively  chosen Primkopti in Pesawaran District by consideration that Primkopti was active in business unit and annual member meetings.  The total respondents were 52 respondents selected by random and data were collected in November – Desember 2016.  The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis.  The results showed that the raw material procurement at the tempeh agroindustry did not meet components of time, place, type, quality, quantity, and price.  The income based on total cost per month at tempeh agroindustry was Rp634,831.56.   Tempeh Agroindustry was viable because it had possitive added value and favorable for its R/C  value was more than one.   Tempeh agroindustry marketing strategy already used marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion).   The marketing chain consisted of two tracts which were, manufacturers to consumers and manufacturers to merchant then to consumers.  The marketing system at tempeh agroindustry was not efficient because the profit margin ratio did not spread evenly.  The support services at tempeh agroindustry were information and communication technology, transportation, and market.Key words: agroindustry, cooperative, performance, tempeh

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the added value of ‘kepok’ banana chips, banana marketing system, and to examine the marketing mix of kepok banana chips in agroindustry in Karang Anyar Village, Gedong Tataan District of Pesawaran Regency. The respondents consisted of five owners of banana chipsagroindustry, 12 banana traders, and 35 farmers. Data were collected in October - December 2018, and analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that chocolate banana chips has greater added value than original and caramel banana chips. The marketing system of Kepok banana is not efficient and tends to be oligopsonistics. The marketing mix in the Kepok banana chips agroindustry follows the four principles of product, prices, places, and promotions. However, location of agroindustry is not strategic and promotions useonly a personal selling method.Key words: added value, banana chips, marketing.

Abstract

This study aims to know the supply system of production facilities, profits, added value of turkey products (satay, meatballs and nuggets), marketing mix and marketing channels in addition to supporting institutions of turkey farming in Sukoharjo Village. This study was conducted in Mitra Alam Turkey Farming House in Sukoharjo Village Pringsewu District. The data was collected in April 2015 - June 2015 using the case study method and was analyzedby descriptive quantitative analysis and Hayami method for the added value. The results showed that almost all of the production facilities were own production which were consisted of cages, seed and feed, while drugs were obtained by purchasing. The profit of turkey farming for one production or month was Rp29,702,167.00 with R/C in cash costs to 1.76 and R/C on total cost of 1.70. The added value of turkey products (satay, meatballs and nuggets) showed the highest added value product was turkey meatballs with ratio 86.78 percent. Marketing channel of turkey farming consisted of two channels, first from producers to consumer and, secondly from manufacturers to retailers then to consumers. Supporting institutions of turkey farming were consisted of farmer groups,information system and government policies.Key words: agribusiness system, breeding business, turkey
