Abstract

Rambutan (Nepelium lappaceum) is one of tropical fruit plant that poses high morphological character, both cultivated or wild plants. The exploration of Nephellium in Riau Province had indicated 3 variations of wild Nephellium (Mone, Tunyiang dan Rambutan Hutan). The aim of this study was to examined the phytochemical contents of fruit from three wild Nephellium from Riau Province. Samples used in this study were three fruit parts (pericarp, aril and seed). Phytocemical tests were conducted qualitatively for alkaloid, terpenoid, steroid, flavonoid, saponin and tannin. The result showed that each fruit part had different phytochemical contents. Alkaloid was only found in aril of all wild Nephellium (Mone, Tunyiang dan Rambutan Hutan). Terpenoid and saponin were found in all fruit parts, while saponin was absent in all fruit parts from three wild Nephellium.  ditemukan pada semua bagian buah dari ketiga buah rambutan liar. The result of this study provides additional information of phytochemical content of wild N. lappaceum.

Abstract

The traditional agroforestry industry is part of the Forestry and Other Land Use Net Sink 2030 (FOLU Net Sink 2030) strategy for low carbon development and climate resilience in Indonesia. This study aims to estimate the value of biomass, carbon stock, and carbon sequestration in traditional agroforestry systems in Rimbo Panjang Village, Kampar. Six plots (each measuring 20 x 20 meters) are used; three of the plots are 15 years old and three are 9 years old, respectively, for the conventional agroforestry system.  Biomass, carbon stock and carbon sequestration were estimated at the tree, pole and sapling levels.  Biomass calculations used allometric equations based on diameter at breast height (DBH) data. The results showed that carbon sequestration in Dusun 2 (618.2 tons/ha) was greater than in Dusun 1 (399 tons/ha), with an average carbon sequestration in both dusun of 508.6 tons/ha.  Trees contribute the highest value of biomass, carbon stock, and carbon sequestration, which is 74%, The difference in the value of biomass, carbon stock, and carbon sequestration in traditional agroforestry systems in Rimbo Panjang Village is significantly influenced by the average stem diameter. The various trees that make up traditional agroforestry in Rimbo Panjang Kampar, which is generally in the yard, should ideally be maintained and developed because of their high carbon sequestration potential.

Abstract

Dendrobium merupakan genus anggrek yang paling banyak diminati bagi pecinta anggrek dan memegang peranan penting dalam menghasilkan anggrek hibrida. Anggrek hibrida merupakan anggrek hasil silangan yang menggabungkan karekter–karakter baik dalam satu tanaman sehingga mendapatkan spesies anggrek dengan sifat-sifat unggul yang diinginkan. Metode kultur in vitro adalah salah satu cara yang efektif untuk perbanyakan anggrek. Laju pertumbuhan jaringan tanaman in vitro dapat ditingkatkan dengan penambahan zat-zat organik kompleks seperti air rebusan kentang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan biji anggrek Dendrobium Edfrans Charming x Dendrobium Deni Erianto terhadap penambahan air rebusan kentang pada media Vacin and Went (VW) secara in vitro, dan menentukan konsentrasi terbaik untuk pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf perlakuan air rebusan kentang (0, 50, 100, 150, 200) mL pada media Vacin and Went. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rerata persentase hidup eksplan anggrek sebesar 100%. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan selama 60 HST terjadi 6 fase pertumbuhan biji. Penambahan air rebusan kentang dengan konsentrasi 200 mL pada media VW memberikan hasil terbaik yang ditandai dengan waktu muncul protokorm tercepat yaitu pada 20.80 HST dan terjadi semua fase pertumbuhan protokorm tercepat dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Abstract

The formation of a joint business group is based on the fact that there are many community members who want to start a business but do not have the capital and courage to do business. Community group empowerment activities have proven to be able to make the product better known, increase the number of orders and the income of group members. Virgin Coconut Oil is one example of coconut milk fermenting business for 24 hours to form VCO and dregs. This dregs is called blondo which can be converted into various kinds of processed products so as to reduce environmental pollution. The method used in its application is modeling, training and mentoring. Based on the results of these activities, community service activities have succeeded in improving the skills of KUB HRG BERJAYA members in producing innovative blondo-based foods, namely blondo sauce and blondo abon. Service activities have also succeeded in improving the skills of KUB HRG BERJAYA members in online marketing. Production and marketing assistance activities have also marketed many products. The result is an increase in the income of KUB and KUB members.

Abstract

Tacca chantrieri belongs to the family Taccaceae has black flowers and has a long filiform that looks like a bat. T. chantrieri contains phytochemicals in the form of spritosol saponins used as traditional medicine by the people of China and Thailand. The amount of land clearing, forest exploitation and habitat destruction resulted in a reduction in the number of T. chantrieri, so T. chantrieri was propagated to maintain its sustainability. One way that can be used is the in vitro culture technique, namely callus culture. Callus culture is an early stage of in vitro culture technique where this stage aims to produce and multiply callus cells. The purpose of the study is were to determine the effect of different sucrose concentrations on callus induction from T. chantrieri leaf explants and determine the best sucrose concentrations for callus culture from T. chantrieri leaf explants on Murashige and Skoog (MS) media. This study used a single factor completely randomized design (CRD), namely sucrose concentrations 0 g/l, 10 g/l, 20 g/l, 30 g/l, 40 g/l, 50 g/l with five replications. The results of this study showed that the administrations of sucrose with different concentrations on MS media had an effect on increasing callus induction in Tacca chantrieri leaves. The best sucrose concertations for callus induction of Tacca chantrieri leaves was the addition of 40 g/l sucrose at 20 days after planting, 60 % callus formation percentage, callus formed in the form of compact callus and produce yellow-white callus. Keywords: Tacca chantrieri, sucrose, callus, Murashige and Skoog.

Abstract

Grammatophyllum stapeliiflorum, recognized as the melancholic orchid, represents one of the elusive orchid species facing the brink of extinction, thus exacerbating its rarity. Tissue culture technology becomes imperative for the propagation of this orchid species. This study aims to scrutinize the influence of different concentrations of the synthetic growth regulator thidiazuron (TDZ) on distinct basal media types, Murashige Skoog (MS) and Vacin and Went (VW), on the in vitro growth of G. stapeliiflorum orchids. Employing a complete randomized factorial design, the study entails two research factors: TDZ concentration with 4 treatment levels, A0 = 0 mg/L, A1 = 0.25 mg/L, A2 = 0.50 mg/L, and A3 = 0.75 mg/L, and the second factor being the media type, B1 = ½ MS and B2 = ½ VW. Findings indicate significant effects of MS and VW media on the percentage of viable explants, browning, globular forms, and shoots. Interaction between TDZ concentration and media type didn't yield significant effects on each experimental parameter. Treatment with 0.25 and 0.50 mg/L TDZ on ½ VW media demonstrated optimal results for explant growth percentage, browning, and explants in the globular phase, at 97.33%, 2.67%, and 2.67%, respectively. Moreover, treatment with 0.75 mg/L TDZ on ½ VW media resulted in the highest percentage of explant coloration. The combination of TDZ and media has shown the potential to enhance the production efficiency and conservation of this rare orchid species through tissue culture technology.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi para guru di MTs/MA Al-Karim yaitu belum banyak mengetahui bagaimana membuat lembar kerja peserta didik dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif dan guru masih menggunakan lembar kerja cetak. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah guru bisa menyusun e-lkpd interaktif yang berbasis aplikasi sehingga mendukung proses pembelajaran di kelas. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan pengabdian yaitu demonstrasi. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama dua hari yang diawali dengan sosialisasi mengenai manfaat e-lkpd interaktif dengan aplikasi Wizer.me bagi pengguna. Lalu dilanjutkan hari kedua dengan praktik membuat e-lkpd menggunakan aplikasi Wizer.me. Berdasarkan pengamatan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan berjalan lancar dan kondusif melihat jumlah guru dan tim pengabdian yang memadai. Tingkat ketercapaian keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diukur melalui respon dan antusiasme guru selama kegiatan praktik berlangsung. Harapan dari pengabdian ini adalah guru memiliki kemampuan dalam pengembangan e-lkpd interaktif sehingga dapat membantu dalam proses pembelajaran serta menambah keaktifan siswa untuk belajar secara mandiri.

Abstract

Empty oil palm bunches (OPEFB) contain important nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and micronutrients such as boron (B), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), and manganese (Mn). These nutrients can be released into the soil and are available for plant growth with empty oil palm bunches. Composting is a natural recycling method and returns organic matter to the biological cycle. OPEFB as an organic fertilizer has great potential to help increase soil fertility and productivity. Utilization of organic waste in the form of liquid compost can be done using a composter. Processing waste into compost can have quite high economic value. This community service activity received a positive response from the Kampung Tengah village community because it increased knowledge related to the processing of OPEFB waste and also organic waste so that it becomes useful and economically valuable compost.

Abstract

Indonesia has 26,000 species of orchids that are very potential and profitable. Grammatophllum stapeliiflorum is an orchid species that is increasingly difficult to find in its natural habitat. The addition of foliar fertilizer containing macro and micro nutrients can increase plant growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of foliar fertilizer type, concentration and the combination of the two factors on the growth of the orchid protocorm G. stapeliiflorum. This study used a factorial completely randomized design with two research factors, namely the type of foliar fertilizer with 2 treatment levels, B1 = Gandasil-D and B2 = Growmore. The second factor, fertilizer concentration with 4 treatment levels, namely A0 = control (without foliar fertilizer), A1 = 1 g/L, A2 = 2 g/L, and A3 = 3 g/L. This study consisted of 8 treatment combinations which were repeated 4 times, resulting in 32 experimental units. The parameters observed were the percentage of live explants, the percentage of browning, and the percentage of protocorms growth stages. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% level. These results indicated that the application of foliar fertilizers with Gandasil-D and Growmore affects the percentage of live explants and protocorm growth phases and also increase the percentage browning until of 32,5%. Gandasil-D is better for protocorm growth from globular to torpedo. The control is better for forming shoot of 22,5% compared to the use of foliar fertilizer.

Abstract

University of Riau Forest, Riau Province is one of distribution area of ferns (Pteridophytes). This study aimed to identify fern species at University of Riau Forest and examined the DNA band pattern based on M13 DNA marker. Samples were collected from the field using exploration method and were then identified. DNA isolation was carried out using DNAeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen), and amplified based on PCR method using DreamTaq Green PCR Master Mix (2X) (Thermo Scientific) with M13 DNA Marker. The inventorisation result showed a total of 26 fern species belong to 8 families were identified in this study. The electrophoresis result of PCR product gave the variaous DNA band pattern ranged from 200 to 2000 bp. DNA band pattern using M13 primer can be used to support the taxonomical data of fern taxa
