Abstract

Assessment of public satisfaction with an agency's performance that organizes public services needs to be assessed by involving all service attributes because service attributes cannot stand alone, and performance improvement cannot be made separately. Assessment of service attributes is one way to track consumer ratings so that service providers can understand the causes of service problems. This study uses the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. From this study, it was found that the priority that needs to be improved to improve public satisfaction with population administration services is to increase the discipline of officers in serving the community, certainty of service costs, and speed of service.

Abstract

This study investigates the guaranteed recall likelihood of temporarily unemployed white-collar and blue-collar workers in the labour markets affected by Covid-19 in Indonesia’s western and eastern regions. The August 2020 microdata from Sakernas were used using logistic regression analysis. Descriptive analysis shows a balance of male and female workforce composition. However, the unemployment rate affected by Covid-19 is higher in western Indonesia than in eastern Indonesia. In the western part of Indonesia, the temporarily unemployed are more distributed in urban areas, while in the eastern part of Indonesia, they are more dispersed in rural areas. By gender, more men than women are temporarily unemployed due to Covid-19 in western and eastern Indonesia. Regression statistics show that layoffs and temporary layoffs impact white-collar and blue-collar workers differently. It can be seen that white-collar workers in western Indonesia have the highest return-to-work protection factor, while blue-collar workers in eastern Indonesia have the lowest. Urban areas provide blue-collar workers in eastern Indonesia with higher guaranteed chances of returning to work. Male white-collar workers in the Western Indonesia region are the most likely to return to work compared to other categories. The age variable is not significant for white-collar workers but is significant for blue-collar workers. The only significant education variable is the assurance that blue-collar workers in eastern Indonesia will return to work. An additional skill variant in the form of a course will provide a higher assurance of being recalled to work in the eastern region of Indonesia.

Abstract

In 2008, Indonesia became a member of the G20, and it is estimated that in 2030 it will be in the top seventh economic countries if it can keep growing. Nevertheless, high economic growth was followed by an inequality problem. This study will analyze the wage gap between manufacturing and non-manufacturing workers. Using Sakernas 2020 and the Mincer wage model regression, the result showed that all independent variables: age, level of education, gender, region of residence, marital status, toddler, disability status, and certificate training influence wages for both manufacturing and non-manufacturing workers. Next, the Blinder-Oaxaca method decomposes the wage gap between both groups. It is shown that manufacturing workers get higher wages than non-manufacturing workers because of differences in the characteristic of workers and also industry attributes which, in this case, capital intensity.

Abstract

Child marriage at an early age has negative impacts, especially for women, including significant impacts on reproductive health and the economy. Based on data from the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) for 2021, there are around 2.4 million annually in Indonesia. This study uses the theory of Family Economic Welfare with 8 variables. The data used in this study is data sourced from the results of the March 2021 National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) using the STATA 12 and SPSS 25 data analysis methods. This study uses logistic regression on 659,261 respondents from all over Indonesia, among whom are categorized as prosperous and 71,701 respondents as not prosperous, based on each respondent's monthly income compared to the national poverty line. The results of this study explain that there is a significant influence between the variables of early marriage, area of residence, number of household members, gender, school participation, last education, home ownership, and sources of information that have a significant influence on welfare. Partially, early marriage has a significant influence on welfare. So, accepting H1 or the independent variable (early marriage) in this logistic regression model partially or individually significantly influences the dependent variable (welfare). Partially, economic welfare has a significant influence on early marriage. This is indicated by the p-value of the early marriage variable, which is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Low early marriage requires extreme efforts from the human self and interaction with the environment and government support, so collaboration between community groups and the government is needed.
