Abstract

The aim of the research is to evaluate, identify, categorize the level of mathematical creative thinking ability and determine the influence of mathematical resilience on mathematical creative thinking ability in class VIII at SMP Negeri 10 Semarang city before and before implementing the modelProblem Based Learning helpSeesaw. The type of research in this research is quantitative. The research method used is a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The data collection technique uses creative thinking ability tests for pretest and posttest with number content. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the average difference (Independent Sample T-Test), Gain test, and Simple Regression Test. The research results show that based on the results of the average difference test, there are differences in scores before and after applying the modelProblem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Seesaw can improve mathematical creative thinking skills with an average score for each before and after the model is applied, namely 46 and 76 with categorization of improvement based on the Gain test after the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Seesaw is applied, namely 5 students with low improvement, 18 students with moderate improvement, and 9 students with high improvement and the average increase of students after applying the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Seesaw was included in the medium category, and there was an influence of mathematical resilience on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. The conclusions in this research are Applying the PBL model assisted by Seesaw can improve creative mathematical thinking skills in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 10 Semarang

Abstract

Creative thinking skills need to be developed in mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to examine the quality of the Project Based Learning model with an Open-ended approach in improving mathematical creative thinking skills and to find patterns of creative thinking skills of grade XI vocational students in terms of learning styles. Creative thinking is a skill that must be possessed in the learning process because without the ability to think creatively a person will find it difficult to find solutions to problems, so it is possible that there will never be progress in his life. In the learning process, it is very important to pay attention to students' learning styles and appropriate learning models. This research uses a combination method. Learning style instrument was adapted from the VARK questionnaire.  From this study, it was found that Project Based Learning model with Open-ended approach is effective in improving mathematical creative thinking ability. There are differences in students' creative thinking abilities with various dominant learning styles. Students with combined learning styles show a more varied and high level of creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy, as defined by the OECD, encompasses the ability to formulate, use, and interpret mathematics in various real-life contexts. This study aims to analyze how mathematical literacy is integrated into the Australian curriculum, given the importance of this competency in 21st-century education. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study identifies, analyzes, and synthesizes relevant articles from the Scopus database .Analysis of these articles revealed that mathematical literacy is integrated through four main approaches. First, the development of new curriculum elements, such as linking numeracy with interdisciplinary concepts, enhances the relevance of learning. Second, the use of data from standardized tests, such as NAPLAN, supports data-driven interventions, although this approach is often mechanistic. Third, context- and culture-based learning, including the use of interdisciplinary activities and early childhood games, increases student engagement. Fourth, teacher training is pivotal to the successful implementation of integration strategies. This study provides conceptual and practical insights for developing inclusive, evidence-based, and diversity-responsive curricula. However, its reliance on literature necessitates further studies to evaluate the direct implementation of these strategies in Australian schools. The findings are expected to support flexible and effective educational policies to improve students’ mathematical literacy.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are among the skills developed within the mathematics curriculum. This study aims to describe the role of HOTS in the Mathematics Curriculum in Malaysia. The research method employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using data sources from journals published between 2019 and 2024, obtained from Google Scholar and Scopus. The results show that: (1) the Standard Curriculum for Secondary Schools (KSSM) in Mathematics has been redesigned and refined to equip students with theknowledge, skills, and values necessary to meet the demands of the 21st century and to develop individuals with mathematical thinking abilities, including Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS); and (2) HOTS are explicitly stated within the curriculum to enable teachers to integrate them into the teaching and learning process, thus stimulating structured and focused student thinking. These skills encompass the application of knowledge, abilities, and values for reasoning, reflecting, problem-solving, decision-making, innovating, and creating
