Abstract

Evaluation of the cloud computing training program for the teachers of integrated Islamic elementary school (SDIT) Al-Madina Semarang has been conducted with the facilitation of the Department of Chemistry lecturer as an instructor. The evaluation aimed was to measure the impact of training on increased knowledge and participants ‘ interest in implementing cloud computing technology. The evaluation Model in this study used a Goal-Oriented Approach (GOA).  The instrument of knowledge aspect is compiled using a Likert scale with four options. The measured point includes the fundamental point of knowledge (5 items), after-activity experience (10 items), and collaborative Aspects of collaboration (4 items). The analysis of this study based on calculating the proportion of two criteria, i.e., low and high. 23 Participant Data eliminated to 17 based on completeness of instrument replenishment. The data was analyzed by using percentages. From the initial knowledge side, 12 of 17 entry categories are low. In contrast, 17 out of 17 participants feel confident about implementing cloud computing technology. The strength documents are sent to achieve a result of 100% both in terms of completeness and quantity. While the interest to collaborate gained a result of 12 out of 17 have a strong desire. All activities that have been carried out can be concluded that computing training programCOMPUTING TRAINING PROGRAM has succeeded in increasing the knowledge of participants to manage collaborative learning documents activities succeeded in increasing the knowledge of participants.

Abstract

One of the problems in a chemistry learning is the low learning outcomes mainly due to misconception. This study aims to study the student’s misconceptions on the topic of salt hydrolysis and the possible causes that come from them. This study was a case study with a one-shot case study design. Observation sheets on learning activities, observation sheets on student’s attitude, a test pack of three-tier multiple choice model, and guidelines of interviews involving students as respondents were used in the data collection. The results of observation on the implementation of learning showed that the learning using guided inquiry model has been carried out very well, it suggested that the learning process for embedding the correct concept of salt hydrolysis material has proceeded in accordance with the steps of the guided inquiry learning model. In addition, it was observed that the students showed a very good attitude during the learning process. The student’s misconception on the topic of salt hydrolysis was in a low category with the misconception percentage of 21.7%. The student’s misconceptions observed in this study suggested that those are possible due to incomplete/false reasoning (50%), associative thinking (30%), and intuition (20%). Students' interest in the chemistry lesson was also observed to contribute to misconceptions.

Abstract

The bio-oil produced from pyrolysis of woody biomass typically shows unfavourable characteristics such as high acidity, hence it becomes highly corrosive. An upgrading process, e.g., esterification, is necessary to improve the bio-oil quality prior to its use as a transportation fuel. In this work, the bio-oil was produced through a fast pyrolysis of Sengon wood in a fixed-bed pyrolyser at various temperatures. The characteristics (density, viscosity, total acid number, relative concentration of acetic acid, etc.) of the bio-oil were evaluated. The bio-oil with the highest acidity underwent an esterification catalysed by Indonesian natural zeolites at 70 oC for 0-180 min with a ratio of bio-oil to methanol of 1:3. The catalytic performance of the Indonesian natural zeolites during the esterification was investigated. A significant decrease in the total acid number in the bio-oil was observed, indicating the zeolite catalyst’s good performance. No significant coke formation (0.002-3.704 wt.%) was obtained during the esterification. An interesting phenomenon was observed; a significant decrease in the total acid number was found in the heating up of the bio-oil in the presence of the catalyst but in the absence of methanol. Possibly, other reactions catalysed by the Brønsted and Lewis acids at the zeolite catalyst surface also occurred during the esterification.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether the learning achievements of UPBJJ UT Semarang PGSD students can be improved through the use of gamification with the Kahoot platform! integrated with Ms. Teams in Tuweb. In this study, researchers implemented Gamification with the Kahoot platform! which is used as an effort to improve learning achievement in the English learning process for elementary teachers. The subject in this study is a student of S1 PGSD Semester 1 (one) UPBJJ UT Semarang Registration Period 2021.1 Pokjar Kaliwungu Kendal number of 24 students. This study is a 2-cycle Classroom Action Research with 1 pre-test and 2 post-tests through the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. From the results of the study showed an increase in the learning achievement of S1 PGSD UPBJJ UT Semarang students through the use of gamification with the Kahoot platform! integrated with Ms. Teams in Tuweb. This is characterized by an average increase in the score from pre-test to post-test 1 by 27.81 points (from 47.40 to 75.21). Furthermore, there was also an average increase in the score from post-test 1 to post-test 2 by 11.35 points (from 75.21 to 86.56). Based on the findings and conclusions can be proposed that gamification with kahoot platform! Integrated with Ms. Teams in Tuweb can be used as an alternative in the implementation of the teaching and learning process in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic that requires learning to be done online or remotely.

Abstract

Di era teknologi yang berkembang pesat, bermain media sosial menjadi rutinitas bagi masyarakat khususnya para remaja. Remaja dapat menunjukkan eksistensi diri mereka melalui media sosial dengan berbagai unggahan. Namun, media sosial juga memiliki dampak bagi penggunanya baik dampak positif maupun negatif. Dampak Positif dari bermedia sosial dapat menambah wawasan dan bertemu dengan banyak orang. Namun dibalik itu terdapat dampak negatif mengenai penyalahgunaan penggunaan media sosial. Dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja dampak yang ada dalam media sosial dan seberapa pentingkah media sosial bagi pendidikan karakter serta seberapa pentingkah diadakannya pelatihan yang berjudul “Bijak Bermedia Sosial bagi Remaja”. Menggunakan metode pelatihan secara virtual yang kemudian dievaluasi dengan membagikan kuesioner untuk mengambil data-data yang kami butuhkan dari para remaja yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian kami. Hasil  yang diperoleh yaitu intensitas pemakaian media sosial yang berlebihan dapat menurunkan kemampuan interaksi sosial remaja. Oleh karena itu, menurut para remaja, perlu adanya pelatihan bijak bermedia sosial agar mereka dapat menggunakan media sosial dengan lebih baik.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kolaboratif merupakan filsafat interaksi pembelajaran melalui kerjasama, maka hal ini dilakukan tidak hanya disekolah tetapi juga diluar sekolah, termasuk melalui perangkat internet. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kolaboratif berbasis internet dengan menggunakan aplikasi google terhadap kemampuan guru dalam menyusun dokumen kurikulum. Bentuk pengabdian ini adalah quasi experiment (eksperimen semu). Teknik pengumpulan data meggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Desain pengabdian ini menggunakan pre dan post-test only group design, subjek merupakan semua guru pada SDIT Almadina Semarang. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kolaboratif internet dengan menggunakan aplikasi google seperti google sheet, google docs dan google slide berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan guru dalam menyusun dokumen kurikulum secara kolaboratif. Peningkatan kemampuan dalam pengoperasian dan pembuatan dokumen kurikulum menggunakan google sheet, google docs dan google slide sebesar 66.67% (±16.07), 80.00% (±5.00), dan 51.67% (±2.89), masing-masing. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pengunaan aplikasi google secara langsung mampu meningkatkan kinerja guru SDIT Almadina dalam penyusunan dokumen kurikulum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a practicum worksheet (LKPPD) based on guided inquiry and the response of learners as users.  The effectiveness of LKPPD is seen from aspects of laboratory skills and students' interpersonal intelligence on hydrolysis material. This type of research is qualitative and quantitative. Data collected by interview, observation, and questionnaire. The results showed that LKPPD that has been developed is effective because 76% of students have laboratory skills with very high category and 96.5% of students have interpersonal intelligence with a minimum category high. In addition, this LKPPD received a positive response from learners as users with a percentage score of 77.9%.

Abstract

Misconceptions of teaching mathematics in elementary schools often occur, not only to students but also experienced by teachers. Elementary school teachers are required to master many subjects where not all learning material (one of them mathematics) can be mastered by the teacher well. An elementary school teacher may be proficient in the field of language, but on the other hand is weak in the field of mathematics. So that it should be suspected, one of the causes of misconception in students is the teacher. Therefore, through a qualitative research approach, the types and causes of misconceptions in mathematics learning in elementary schools will be revealed by teachers. Research data was revealed through questionnaires and interviews.  The findings show that there have been "type misconceptions: pre-conception, undegenneralization, and modeling error" that are stable, permanent and rooted in mathematics teaching in elementary schools

Abstract

ABSTRAKMasa pandemic COVID-19 di Indonesia yang dimulai pada bulan Maret 2020 memaksa semua proses belajar mengajar dialihkan pada sistem pembelajaran daring (online). Terlepas dari belum terbangunnya kultur guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran daring, pemberlakuan proses belajar mengajar tanpa tatap muka ini telah memaksa guru lebih kreatif dalam membuat media pembelajaran. Di samping aspek praktis, Guru-guru harus siap dan menyiapkan diri untuk mampu berperan sebagaimana tuntutan kurikulum. Kualitas pembelajaran daring mempunyai akar permasalahan yang tidak sederhana, mulai dari minimnya sumber belajar daring, kendali waktu belajar, akses internet, dan lainnya. Mengacu uraian pada analisis situasi dapat diidentifikasi permasalahan utama mitra yaitu guru sains utamanya pada kelompok Guru Kimia PPG Daljab 2020. Terdapat peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggambarkan struktur molekul kimia dan juga kemampuan menyiapkan video ajar menggunakan PowerPoint. Namun, devais yang dimiliki kurang support untuk rendering video jika PowerPoint memiliki banyak gambar dan atau video.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran daring; covid-19; Guru Kimia; video ajar; PowerPoint ABSTRACTThe period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia which began in March 2020 forced all teaching and learning processes to be shifted to an online learning system. Apart from the absence of a teacher culture in managing online learning, the implementation of this face-to-face teaching and learning process has forced teachers to be more creative in making learning media. In addition to the practical aspects, teachers must be ready and prepared to be able to play a role as the curriculum demands. The quality of online learning has roots that are not simple, starting from the lack of online learning resources, control of study time, internet access, and so on. Referring to the description of the situation analysis, the main problems of partners can be identified, namely science teachers, especially in the in-service Chemistry Teachers group. There is an increase in the skills of teachers in describing chemical molecular structures and also the ability to prepare teaching videos using PowerPoint. However, the device does not have support for rendering video if PowerPoint has lots of images and / or videos.Keywords: online-learning; COVID-19; Chemistry Teachers; Teaching Video; PowerPoint.
