Abstract

Central Java Province is the fourth most populous province in Indonesia, so with a dense population in an area, it is important to pay attention to household consumption expenditure according to the second SDG goal, namely no hunger. The purpose of this study was to look at the distribution of household food consumption expenditures in Central Java and analyze the socio-economic and health influences on household food consumption expenditures. The data used is secondary data from the publication of the Central Java Statistics Agency in 2020. This study used multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the open unemployment rate and the percentage of households with proper sanitation significantly increased household food consumption expenditures. Meanwhile, the dependency ratio significantly reduces household food consumption expenditures.

Abstract

The rise in population in Indonesia has led to the emergence of a very pressing problem, namely the unemployment rate. Indonesia is currently ranked second in ASEAN as the country with the highest unemployment rate. It has become a serious problem due to the negative impact of such increases in crime, declining economic output, increasing poverty, rising numbers of demonstrators, and rising death rates, especially the rise in suicide rates among men. The rise in unemployment is caused by many factors, one of which is the economy. Some economic variables will experience a high rise in the next few years to ensure the impact tested using the Error Correction Model (ECM) method. This study looks at the influence of macroeconomic variables such as foreign direct investment, PDB, government expenditure, exchange rates, and imports on the unemployment rate in Indonesia from 1986 to 2022. The results show that there is both long-term and short-term influence, with the variable that has the most significant influence being foreign direct investments. It needs the attention of the government in determining policies and handling them to address the problem of unemployment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Climate change is a global challenge that requires serious attention from various parties, including the government. The existence of surface temperature and various other parameters is certainly closely related to climate change. In this context, this study was conducted to identify the best model in predicting urban land surface temperature in the Jakarta area, as one of the steps to understand and deal with the impacts of climate change. The research data used comes from MERRA-2, NASA, which provides datasets for various climate analyses. A comparison of ARIMA, SVR, LSTM, and ANN methods was conducted to evaluate the performance of each model in forecasting land surface temperature. The results show that the Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) model provides the best performance with MAPE and values of 0.8381 and 0.8628. This model has an advantage over other models because it can remember various information that has been stored for a long period of time and can delete irrelevant information. This shows that LSTM is effective in capturing the pattern and variability of the Earth's surface temperature in the Jakarta area. Based on these findings, the government is expected to take concrete steps to address the impacts of climate change, especially issues related to increasing urban land temperature in Jakarta, such as reducing the use of private vehicles and switching to public transportation, expanding green open space, and relocating residents to reduce density.

Abstract

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) innovations play an important role in helping poor and developing countries improve their trade relations with other countries. In Indonesia, the information and communication sector is one of the contributing sectors to gross domestic product, which grew positively among the six other sectors during the Covid-19 pandemic, while other sectors experienced contractions. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has limited economic activity, one of which is international trade. ICT can be an alternative solution to Indonesia's decline in international trade. This study aims to analyze the influence of ICT and the Covid-19 pandemic on Indonesia's exports and imports with the 14 largest trading partner countries in 2005–2021 using the gravity model in the data panel. The results showed that percentage of individuals using internet in trading partner countries and the number of mobile cellular subscriptions in Indonesia and trading partner countries significantly increased the value of Indonesia’s export. Meanwhile, the percentage of individuals using internet in trading partner countries and the number of mobile cellular subscriptions in Indonesia significantly increased the value of Indonesia's imports. ICT has a large role, so that the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic is only temporary and does not significantly affect international trade.

Abstract

Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is a key indicator of a country's health and well-being. It's frequently regarded as a marker of social advancement and human growth. As a result, eliminating IMR is a major goal in the RPJMN 2020-2024, both nationally and regionally. East Java's IMR reached 13,49 deaths per 1000 live births, exceeding the 2024 objective. The purpose of the research is to investigate how socioeconomic and health-related factors would affect AKB in East Java in 2022. Descriptive and inferential analysis using multiple linear regression were employed. The results showed that the percentage of females aged 10 and up who married before the age of 17 and the open unemployment rate had a favourable effect on IMR. Meanwhile, birth at a health care facility and life expectancy have a detrimental impact on IMR.
