Abstract

The beneficial of breastfeeding can be felt by baby and its mother. The national scope of giving breastmilk in 2018 is 32,3%. However, the national scope target for breastmilk set by the Ministry of Health, is 80%. In exclusive breastfeeding, mother needs support from the family as closest neighborhood. This study aim to identify publications that provide information on concepts and data relevant to the topic of family support for exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia. This study uses a literature review design with 3 search enginees: Science Direct, Google Scholar, and PubMed. The total of 12 selected articles with a cross-sectional approach has population of mother and baby aged 0-24 months. The results of the article analysis shows that 9 articles stated that there were relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding. Then, 3 articles stated that there were no relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding. Support that comes from husband and other family members can increase mother's ability to give exclusive breastfeeding, a sense of calm and comfortable. Thereby, it also can increase production of the hormone oxytocin and affect breastmilk production. In addition, family support can increase confidence in exclusive breastfeeding. By continously giving an exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, can provide benefits for both mother and baby. The nursing implication that can be done is to provide health education to mother regarding exclusive breastfeeding as the main source of food and the best nutrition for babies in a first 6 months.

Abstract

Introduction: Patient safety has become a global issue that is currently being discussed in all countries. Concerns about patient safety have increased significantly over the last decade. The implementation of supervision is very important in order to improve the implementation of patient safety goals. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of supervision regarding patient safety in patients with a diagnosis of Inguinal Hernia in the Inpatient Room. Method: Used a survey method with a supervision questionnaire for patient safety and a supervision effectiveness questionnaire for patient safety. Results: The results showed that supervision of patient safety in patients with a diagnosis of Inguinal Hernia has been carried out in the Hospital Inpatient Room. Implementation of this supervision is effective to do in order to increase the motivation of nurses in implementing patient safety goals. But the implementation of supervision about patient safety is still not optimally implemented because there are several obstacles such as the patient safety program has not become a priority agenda, there is no driving force, it is carried out under forced conditions such as only because of demands from superiors, there are obstacles due to a lack of understanding of the implementation of patient safety programs, there is no sense of awareness in towards patient safety culture, and non-optimal incident reporting. Conclusion: These results can be a reference for hospitals about the attitude of nurses in monitoring patient safety and should improve existing nursing training by allowing nurses to continue their education to a higher level, by holding regular training on patient safety practices.

Abstract

The prevalence of falls among patients in hospitals around the world is still relatively high. Technology is needed to detect the incidence of patients falling in hospitals. The aim of this study is to analyze technology to detect patient fall in hospital settings. A systematic literature review was chosen as the research design. The databases used to search for literature include Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed, and Springer using keywords combined with Boolean operators. The selection of articles is based on several criteria including the publication year 2017-2021, full-text articles, the research setting in a hospital, articles in English, and articles that used research design qualitative, quantitative, and mix-method. The Articles found according to the criteria were 13 articles. The findings showed that there are two types of technology found in this review which are wearable devices and ambient sensor devices. Most of the technical procedure is by connecting the technologies with a wireless network and uploading the data to the server and only a few technologies measure directly. This review also found the advantages and disadvantages of these two types of technology. The health service provider can choose technology by considering the results of the analysis that has been carried out by considering the type of technologies, working procedures, advantages, and disadvantages of the technology so the health service provider can choose the appropriate technology in the hospital.
