Abstract

Puberty often confuses teenagers who don't understand it. Therefore, it is essential to provide sex education to help children understand the phase they are experiencing. Not only children but parents also need to understand the developments that occur in their children so they can accompany their children in these turbulent times. This spiritual education aims to equip children and their parents with correct knowledge about human sexuality and its biblical responsibilities. The education was delivered in presentations, followed by an interactive discussion, and then closed with a conclusion. The result is that the counseling went well and was understood by the participants. The author suggests that this kind of activity be carried out regularly, considering the broad discussion of topics surrounding sex education.   Keywords: education; sexuality; teens; parents

Abstract

The key to managing hypertension is regular control visits to the community health center or other health facilities. These visits are critical in monitoring response to treatment, adjusting therapy if necessary, and providing education and support to the patient. Low compliance of hypertension patients with re-visits or regular control can hinder the success of hypertension management and increase the risk of complications. The SI-KEPPO (Automatic Reminder Message Group System) innovation aims to provide an effective solution in managing and arranging re-visits or reminding individuals or groups of contact time automatically via text messages or other messages. This activity is a community service aimed at doctors, nurses, administration staff and counter staff. A direct training is carried out on computers owned by the Community Health Center so that deficiencies and advantages are detected in the existing facilities at the Community Health Center. The material presented is an introduction to the program or innovation by explaining the use of the innovation, the preparations made and the procedures for implementing it. There were 1 doctor, 4 nurses, 1 medical center administration staff, 1 operator staff, and 1 counter staff who participate in community service activities. All participants were very enthusiastic about this training and it could increase the number of repeat visits for hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Background: Clinical practice learning is designed to prepare nursing students to become professional nurses, students are required to meet competency achievement targets. To comprehensively achieve these targets, students must employ effective learning strategies, one of which is Self-Directed Learning Readiness. Objectives: To explore the strategies nursing students use to meet basic nursing competencies through Self-Directed Learning Readiness. Methods: This research used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model with total sampling, about 91 respondents of second-semester students from the Diploma 3 Nursing Program who conducted clinical practice. The intervention was carried out during the basic nursing clinical practice, with the approach of the stages in SDLR (plan-implementation-monitoring-evaluation). Respondents were given daily journaling which was filled in every day regarding the plan, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of 58 basic nursing competency achievements. After the basic nursing clinical practice ended, respondents completed the post-test questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using an independent sample t-test. Results: The results showed that the majority of students achieved excellent scores (91%) in meeting basic nursing clinical practice competencies. The competency assessment covers three main aspects: knowledge, attitude, and psychomotor skills, with average scores of 82, 84.3, and 83, respectively. The results of statistical tests using the Independent T-Test showed that there was a positive effect of SDLR on the Competency Achievements of Basic Nursing Clinical Students with a p-value <0.05. Conclusion: Students with higher levels of SDLR tend to be more independent in managing time, utilizing various learning resources, and practicing clinical skills. The basic competencies achieved include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, reflecting their readiness to provide comprehensive nursing care.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Social Media has become an important tool in spreading health information, providing benefits for public health including for an easily accessible source of information for all. Farmers are a vulnerable group but they often ignore health problems and prefer self-diagnosis through electronic media or leave it alone. Methods: The purpose of this study was to find an overview of the trend of social media use as a source of health information by farmers in Dawuhan Lor Village. This study used quantitative descriptive method. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling with the number of respondents as many as 91 people. Data collection was carried out using personal instruments that have been adapted from Social Media Use and Computer Survey. Result: The results showed that the tendency of the use of social media as a source of information by farmers is in the medium category. This includes three indicators of the source of information sought such as treatment search, disease, and access to health services which are also in the medium category. Conclusion: Farmers use social media to search for information, interact with others, and utilize certain features, but they are not entirely dependent on social media as a source of information. Social media plays an important role as a component in "Cues to Action," influencing health decision-making processes at both individual and community levels. Information obtained through these digital platforms can significantly influence individual behavior in their efforts to promote and manage their health.

Abstract

Nurses’ Professional Quality of Life (Pro-QOL) scores are important because they influence health service quality. Thus, assessing the nurses’ quality of professional life is essential to identify the organization’s strengths and weaknesses. This research aims to develop a Workplace Violence prevention model to improve nurses’ professional quality of life. This is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional research design. The sample comprised 178 nurses working in private hospitals in Jember Regency, East Java Province. The determinants of workplace violence are directly influenced by nurse factors at 34.6% and patient factors at 46.1%. The factor influencing workplace violence the most is the patient factor, reflected by the patient's knowledge indicators. Coping is a mediating variable between workplace violence and professional quality of life. Positive coping strategies have a direct influence of 72.8% on nurses’ professional quality of life. This study concludes that patient factors influence the workplace violence prevention model, and patient knowledge can prevent workplace violence toward nurses. Additionally, positive coping strategies can help nurses to improve their professional quality of life.
