Abstract

Sugarcane is one of the leading plantation commodities in Situbondo Regency, especially in the Asembagus District. Generally, sugarcane farmers sell sugar cane to sugar factories using a profit-sharing system (SBH). In 2019, the government implemented a new partnership system for sugar cane farmers and sugar factories, namely the sugar cane purchase system (SPT), which will replace the profit-sharing system (SBH). This study aims to determine the perception of sugarcane farmers on implementing the sugarcane purchasing system (SPT) and the factors influencing the perceptions of sugarcane farmers in the Asembagus District. This research method is descriptive-analytic with measurement tools using a Likert scale and data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results showed 1) The perception of sugarcane farmers towards implementing the sugarcane purchasing system (SPT) was expressed by several indicators that cumulatively had a score of 3.777 out of 7.380, where sugarcane farmers perceived that the implementation of the SPT system, in general, had a positive impact. 2) The factors that influence the perception of sugarcane farmers have met the classical assumption test with the factors that significantly influence the length of farming, farmer education, and job diversification. In contrast, the non-significant factors are farmer age, land area, and land status.

Abstract

Masakambing island, having only one village Masakambing and located in Sumenep Regency, East Java, has area 7,79 square kilometers. This island is designated as Essential Ecosystem Area (KEE) through East Java Governor’s decree No. 188/166/2020 because it has High Conservation Valued Area (ABKT) as the habitat of endemic yellow-crested cockatoos (Caccatua sulphurea abbotti). The wildlife having local name Beka’ is critically endangered because there are only 22 birds left in the wild. Furthermore, the society in Masakambing is motivated and eager to save yellow-crested cockatoos when they have economic benefits, one of them is ecotourism. The implementation of ecotourism should refer to the preservation, the involvement of local people, and interpretation–education content while considering safety and hospitality. Accordingly, this emerges an idea of Beka’ Ecotourism development as ecotourism activity-based conservation of yellow-crested cockatoos. The development is conducted for the institutional capacity of Pokdarwis Beka’ Island in terms of institution, legality, and governance. Besides, safety assurance, interpretation-education, and hospitality such as homestay and food-beverage service and as well as promotion through social media and network connectivity are also developed

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has high potential in the agricultural sector. However, the use of fertilizers that are not environmentally friendly, the continuous application of chemicals, and inappropriate land management and cultivation systems will increase land degradation and cause losses for future generations. The "Jakatik" product is an innovative solution for the bio-fertilizer business for eternal lucky mushrooms with probiotics from leri water waste, fruit, and vegetables, an effort to utilize and improve the economy of biological waste materials. The aim of this research is to determine mapping using the Triple Layer Business Model Canvas (TLBMC) approach and to determine sustainable decision-making using the Plus Minus Implication Analysis (PMIA) method approach. The research method uses descriptive and analytical methods. The research results show 1) The results of the business model mapping based on TLBMC in the economic layer describe all the elements and are strengthened, the environmental layer cannot describe the End of life element, because the packaging is not environmentally friendly. Meanwhile, the social layer cannot describe the elements of social culture and social impact because there is no special responsibility given to society and there is no negative social impact. 2) Decision making based on PMIA (Plus Minus Implication Analysis) analysis, the economic layer produces the highest score of 114, so it is necessary to strengthen the business model in customer segment elements by increasing promotions. The environmental layer produces a low score of 91, so it is necessary to develop a business model in the form of adjustments to production quantities according to marketing targets and urge users to apply immediately. Meanwhile, the social layer produces 112 values, so it is necessary to strengthen the business model, especially at the end-user element, by including rules of use.

Abstract

Abstract: Special effort (UPSUS) program of sustainable self-sufficiency is one of the government efforts in manifesting food security. UPSUS of food self-sufficiency is focused on three types of main food commodities that are rice, corn, and soybean (PAJALE). UPSUS PAJALE program aims to increase the production of rice, corn, and soybean so that it reaches sustainable food self-sufficiency. Jember Regency is one of the corn centrals running UPSUS PAJALE program. Ambulu Sub District is one of the areas running UPSUS PAJALE program for new planting areas extension (PATB) of corn in Jember Regency. PATB program of corn leads to new planting extension. The PATB activity of corn supports the farmers in cultivating corn because there is facility assistance in the form of corn seed. The activity brings up farmers response in conducting corn farming activity. Farmers response can be knowledge, attitude, and behavior of farmers taking an important effect on the PATB activity implementation of corn. This research aims to (1) find out the farmers respond on UPSUS PAJALE program, and (2) find out factors affecting the farmers response on UPSUS PAJALE program. The research area determination with the purposive method was Ambulu Sub District Jember Regency. Sample determination method was by simple random sampling with total samples as 63 farmer respondents. Data collection method was by observation, interview, and documentation. The tools of analysis used proportion test of Z-statistic and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research showed that (1) Farmers response on PATB activity of corn on UPSUS PAJALE program to increase corn production in Ambulu Sub District Jember Regency included in high response category. (2) Factors affecting the farmers response significantly on PATB activity of corn on UPSUS PAJALE program in Ambulu Sub District Jember Regency are price, visit frequency of field extension officer (PPL) and education. Abstract

Banyuwangi City is a tourism icon, known for its local delicacies and souvenirs. Many tourists visit the city for its attractions and often seek items to take home as gifts. One of the local businesses specializing in selling traditional cookies is located in the Penganjuran subdistrict. However, this business has been significantly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has caused a decline in economic activity, with many businesses experiencing reduced income or even closure. To address this issue, a community service program was initiated to help revive the local cookie business. The program aims to provide valuable knowledge and skills to the community during its implementation and beyond. Ultimately, the goal is to enable business owners to grow their operations and improve their marketing strategies.
