Abstract

The existence of tourist villages today is inseparable from Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and digital media. Jatiluwih Village is one of the villages located in Tabanan Regency, Bali Province, which currently has social media and a website, but their use could be more optimal. The problem raised in this study is that the digitalization of tourism in the village has yet to be optimal. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of developing tourism digitalization in Jatiluwih Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali Province, knowing community involvement in developing tourism digitization in Jatiluwih Village and developing strategies for involving community participation in developing tourism digitalization in Jatiluwih village. The research methods used are gap analysis, swot analysis, and litmus test. The results of the study show that Jatiluwih Village has opportunities, namely cooperation with external parties for village development, there is a budget allocation from the central government to develop a tourism village (Village Fund), tourists who visit the Tourism Village, the opportunity to promote the village to a broader network, and tourist villages have natural resources for tourism attractions. However, several threats must be considered; namely, technology reduces community interaction, technology increases social disparities (some people do not benefit from the use of technology), stopping funding from the Central Government affects the management of tourist villages and the COVID-19 pandemic and policy Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the convergence and acceleration of growth to achieve steady-state conditions in the Bandung Metropolitan Area in 2010-2022. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach by measuring variables and analyzing data statistically. Secondary data is used in this study to analyze convergence through panel data regression analysis and coefficient of variation. The results show that sigma convergence for the Bandung Metropolitan Area does not show convergence. The gap in the Bandung Metropolitan Area will decrease in less than 13 years. The absolute and conditional beta convergence results in the Bandung Metropolitan Area show convergence. Labor productivity is expected to accelerate economic growth due to the previous year's economic growth; the absolute beta convergence results do not significantly affect economic growth in the study year. Therefore, local governments are expected to focus on resource redistribution and infrastructure investment to increase the growth potential of lagging regions. In addition, investment in basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, and health facilities should be increased in lagging regions to create conditions conducive to economic growth. Finally, encouraging inter-regional cooperation to share resources and knowledge can help lagging regions to catch up.

Abstract

Early marriage is a violation of children's rights and can have significant negative impacts. Some of the negative impacts of early marriage include physical and mental health risks, barriers to achieving good human resources, and increased risk of maternal and child mortality. This study aims to analyze the determinants of early marriage on the Human Development Index (HDI) using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The estimation results show a significant negative relationship between early marriage and the Human Development Index (HDI), as well as a significant relationship between almost all factors affecting early marriage and HDI, except GRDP per capita, contraceptive use, housing ownership, and child abuse cases. In order to improve human resources and community welfare, the main focus needs to be improving access to education, protecting children's rights, reproductive health, and poverty reduction. Preventing early marriage is key to providing optimal opportunities for children to grow and develop and promoting higher human development.

Abstract

Abstract

The Indonesian economy shows that Kalimantan has an important role in the national economy, contributing 8.45% in 2014, placing it as the third largest after Java and Sumatra. However, there are income disparities between provinces in Kalimantan, resulting in disparities in economic development. Therefore, the government must gradually increase investment and the industrial sector to even out income distribution. This research aims to analyze the Kalimantan provinces' sigma and beta convergence. The results indicate that the provinces' economies in Kalimantan still need to be fixed. The per capita income dispersion level from 2000-2021 has improved, or sigma convergence has occurred. Through dynamic panel data analysis, it was found that absolute and conditional beta convergence occurred at levels throughout the Kalimantan region. The conditional beta convergence rate shows that the variables representing production factors can accelerate the convergence rate. Variables influencing income growth and the convergence process are FDI, DI, Industry, and locally generated revenue.   Keywords: Economic Growth, Convergence, Investment, Industry, Fiscal.

Abstract

Research Originality: This study highlights the transformative role of digitalization, particularly the use of internet networks and mobile phones, in addressing these challenges and enhancing the welfare of farmers.Research Objectives: This research aims to analyze the impact of internet usage on farmers' welfare in Indonesia. Specifically, it examines how access to digital tools can bridge the knowledge gap in the agricultural sector and improve economic outcomes, focusing on regional disparities between Western and Eastern Indonesia.Research Methods: This study uses National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) data and the ordered probit model with marginal effects.Empirical Results: Farmers in the upper-middle expenditure group can leverage the Internet and mobile phones to access production information, markets, and farm credit, supported by better finances and education. In contrast, low-income farmers, particularly in eastern Indonesia, face barriers such as costs, limited infrastructure, and low digital literacy, hindering technology adoption to improve welfare.Implications: The government is expected to address this digital divide by accelerating the development of internet infrastructure in rural areas, improving digital literacy, subsidizing technological devices, and developing accessible agricultural applications.JEL Classification: D6, I24, L86, Q12

Abstract

Cianjur and Bogor Regencies in West Java receive substantial Village Fund allocations but exhibit significant differences in IDM values. This study aims to analyze the contribution of village funds to Village SDGs achievement and their impact on IDM values in both regencies from 2018-2023, using mapping of village fund activity codes, panel data regression, and difference in differences (DiD). The results show that village fund activities in both regencies primarily support Village SDGs number 9 (Village Infrastructure and Innovation). However, in Cianjur, IDM is most influenced by activities in Village SDGs number 13, while in Bogor, SDGs number 16 has the greatest impact. DiD analysis reveals that implementing Village SDGs in Bogor is more effective than in Cianjur. These findings suggest that Village Government need to optimize IDM achievements through Village Fund activities depends on each village's characteristics, with a balanced focus beyond physical infrastructure being crucial for rural development.

Abstract

The occurrence of wars, ethnic conflicts, general elections, and coups in Southeast Asian countries has led to a reduction in institutional quality, resulting in a deteriorating economic situation. Since the 1998 monetary crisis, the institutional quality in the Southeast Asian region has been inconsistent, decreasing the region's appeal to foreign investors. Optimal political stability can foster favourable circumstances for investors, hence stimulating a nation's economic expansion. This study examines the impact of political institution on economic growth on a panel of ASEAN countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia from 2010 to 2021. The data used for this analysis was obtained from the World Bank, and the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was employed. The study findings indicate that political institutions favour and substantially impact economic growth. These results suggest that political institutions have a significant impact on sustaining a country's economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the involvement of various sectors in handling HIV/AIDS in Cirebon City, identify factors that hinder and encourage the implementation of HIV/AIDS handling in Cirebon City and compile recommendations for strategies that can be implemented in the context of handling HIV/AIDS in Cirebon City. The types of data used in this study are: (1) primary data obtained from the results of interviews with the Mayor represented by the Head of the Cirebon City Health Office through an online seminar on August 1, 2024, and with the Cirebon City KPA via Zoom Meeting. Second, secondary data in this study are from the Cirebon City Health Office in 2024, literature studies by studying various writings through books, journals, theses, and the internet related to the research. The analysis methods used in this study are gap analysis, SWOT analysis and Litmus tests. The results of the analysis show that many factors influence the high prevalence of HIV cases, such as individual behaviour and environmental influences (both social and cultural). The role of WPA is still less than optimal, and the difficulty of reaching and increasing access to services for key population groups and Cirebon City as a transit city are factors that can affect the handling of HIV/AIDS in Cirebon City at this time. However, the Cirebon City government also has things that support the achievement of Three Zeros, including collaboration between the Health Office and KPA, coordination of local governments with NGOs, the availability of HIV/AIDS referral health facilities, the availability of trained human resources, support from national and international programs, and the availability of policies that support handling of HIV/AIDS cases. The Cirebon City Government can utilize community involvement and the use of technology to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS cases through the following strategies: (1) collaboration of HIV control programs with national and international organizations related to improving HIV services, case finding, ARV treatment, care for PLHIV, and increasing the capacity of officers in the field; (2) developing HIV/AIDS prevention education methods through Inclusive Campaigns and Education utilizing digital platforms; (3) developing data collection strategies and cooperation with transit locations to improve efforts to collect data and prevent HIV cases; (4) implementing direct HIV outreach policies to key population locations to expand access to health services; (5) strengthening monitoring and rapid response systems, especially to identify groups that may be infected from the discovery of new HIV cases. A pentahelix approach between local governments, academics, the business sector, the community, and the media is also an alternative strategy that can be used. Implementing PrEP can reduce the risk of contracting HIV through sexual intercourse and break the chain of HIV transmission.
