Abstract

Pengabdian ini mengimplementasikan pendekatan Pembelajaran Mendalam bagi guru Yayasan Pendidikan Kristen Papua (YPKP) Sentani Jayapura sebagai respon terhadap rendahnya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa Indonesia berdasarkan hasil PISA 2022. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru di lingkungan YPKP Sentani dalam mengimplementasikan Pembelajaran Mendalam, sehingga dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih bermakna, berkesadaran, dan menggembirakan bagi peserta didik, yang pada akhirnya akan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di wilayah Sentani, Kabupaten Jayapura. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan, Difusi Ipteks Berbasis Praktik dan Pelatihan Terintegrasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kompetensi guru sebesar 89,13%, kemampuan mengintegrasikan delapan dimensi profil lulusan, dan terbentuknya komunitas praktisi berkelanjutan. Guru berhasil mendesain pembelajaran yang mengaktifkan berpikir tingkat tinggi melalui tahapan memahami, mengaplikasi, dan merefleksi. Pembelajaran Mendalam berhasil diimplementasikan dalam konteks pendidikan bernafaskan Islam, memperkuat nilai-nilai akhlak mulia, toleransi, dan kebhinekaan. Program ini menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang dinamis dan berpotensi menjadi model percontohan implementasi Pembelajaran Mendalam di institusi pendidikan dengan konteks serupa.

Abstract

This article critically examines the paradox of legal recognition and structural exclusion of indigenous peoples in Asia, with a focus on the Philippines, Nepal, and Indonesia. While many Asian states have adopted progressive legal instruments to recognize indigenous rights—often aligning with international standards such as ILO Convention No. 169 and UNDRIP—implementation remains fragmented, conditional, and subordinate to dominant development paradigms. Drawing on a critical policy analysis of legal texts, governance frameworks, and regional case studies, the paper argues that recognition, in the absence of structural transformation, functions as a tool of managed inclusion that obscures ongoing dispossession. Development policies driven by extractive economies, centralized authority, and technocratic rationalities continue to marginalize indigenous territories and knowledge systems. The article calls for a reconfiguration of recognition as a decolonial and rights-based practice that centers indigenous sovereignty, co-governance, and epistemic justice in shaping inclusive futures.

Abstract

This study investigated vocabulary learning strategies (VSL) used by university students in Papua and the relationship between VSL use and English learning achievement. It employed quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data was collected using Takač's questionnare of VLS and analysed by applying Oxford's Taxonomy of Language Learning Strategies (LLS). Three hundred and thirty-six students majoring in English department and non-English department participated in the questionnaire. Twelve students and six English teachers contributed their perspectives as qualitative data on the learning and teaching of vocabulary at their universities. Key findings included: memory strategies and compensation strategies were the most frequently used strategies; students majoring in English used a wider range of strategies and used them more frequently than did students majoring in other fields of study; high-achieving students used a wider range of strategies and used them more frequently than their low-achieving counterparts; the majority of students were interested in learning new vocabulary through games, songs, movies, role-plays, and using vocabulary cards; more emphasis on VLS instruction need to be placed.

Abstract

Low student interest in reading English textbooks and limited access to quality reading materials hinder vocabulary acquisition and students' adaptability in global contexts. This study aims to analyze the influence of English textbooks on students' reading interest, vocabulary mastery, and critical thinking skills. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. The sample consisted of 769 junior high school students selected randomly. The data were collected through a validated Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5) designed to measure students’ reading interest and vocabulary comprehension. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics with SPSS version 29.0 to identify patterns and trends. The results reveal that access to English books, both at home and at school, significantly contributes to increased reading interest and vocabulary understanding among students. The study concludes that the availability of engaging and level-appropriate English reading materials plays a critical role in supporting students’ global literacy. The implication is that improving the quality and accessibility of English books can enhance students’ academic and social development in response to the demands of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to identify challenges and formulate strategies for developing education in Indonesia's border regions through a literature review. The results of the study indicate that education in border regions faces various obstacles, such as limited infrastructure, a shortage of qualified teachers, a lack of facilities and infrastructure, and low motivation to learn due to socio-cultural and geographical factors. Development strategies that can be implemented include the development of educational infrastructure, strengthening contextual curricula, improving teacher capacity and welfare, utilizing educational technology, and empowering communities and multisectoral collaboration. The implementation of integrated and sustainable strategies is expected to accelerate the equalisation of access to and quality of education in border areas, while strengthening the identity and national awareness of the younger generation.

Abstract

Islamic law of inheritance is, to be followed by all Muslims, but its implementation is not in accordance with the provisions of Islamic law, this is caused by lack of understanding of Islamic inheritance law. In the application of the Islamic law of inheritance can be different from the norms of Islamic law itself, which is done by reconciliation or peace, which is not in accordance with the provisions of Islamic law, but through the application of such a method of interpretation. Interpretation in the application of the law of inheritance is possible in an understanding of the heirs any other alternative that contains the values of justice and peace among the heirs and families. Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki 2 (dua) tujuan, yang pertama untuk memaparkan tentang konsep kebahagiaan berdasarkan pemikiran Al-Ghazali dan filsafat stoikisme secara integratif dan yang kedua untuk memahami cara memperoleh kebahagian menurut kedua tradisi pemikiran tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitik. Oleh karena itu, dalam pengumpulan datanya penulis menggunakan teknik library research  mulai dari  proses membaca simbolik, membaca semantik, dan menganalisis data. Hasil dan pembahasan dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebahagiaan menurut Al-Ghazali dan menurut filsafat Stoikisme merupakan keadaan jiwa yang tenang, tentram, dan damai serta tidak adanya emosi-emosi negatif yang dapat mengganggu keberlangsungan hidup. Kebahagiaan menurut Al-Ghazali lebih mengedepankan spiritualitas karena memiliki tujuan akhir yaitu untuk kembali kepada Tuhan, dan untuk mendapatkan kebahagiaan tersebut ditempuh dengan 4 (empat) pengetahuan, yaitu: pengetahuan tentang diri sendiri, pengetahuan tentang Allah SWT., pengetahuan tentang dunia, dan pengetahuan tentang Akhirat. Sedangkan dalam filsafat stoikisme yang dikedepankan adalah logika karena kebahagiaan itu bergantung pada things we can control satu hal yang berkaitan dengan “dikotomi Kendali” yaitu tentang bagaimana seorang individu mampu mengelola emosi yang ada dalam dirinya.

Abstract

This research isrooted in the need for innovative approaches in the Islamic Religious Education learning process at the elementary level. The use of plastic waste/waste as a learning medium emerged as a response to two crucial issues: increasing students' learning ability and overcoming the problem of plastic waste. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using waste/plastic waste media in increasing the comprehension ability of grade 1 students at SDN 48 Gedongtataan Pesawaran in Islamic Religious Education subjects. The research uses a classroom action research approach with one cycle. Data was obtained through classroom observations and Likert scales. Statistical and qualitative analyzes were used to interpret the results. During the observation, it showed that the majority of students had not achieved the expected development, indicating the need for more in-depth intervention in presenting the findings during the observation. Cycle I showed significant improvement, with a success percentage reaching 86%, exceeding the previously set target of 65%. This confirms that the use of plastic waste/waste media has a strong positive impact in increasing students' comprehension ability.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify and obtain information regarding implementing the independent curriculum learning model in schools. The research employed an action research approach to enhance the implementation of the independent curriculum learning model by facilitating a Community Service Program (Abdimas). The research results indicated that the independent curriculum learning model improved teacher performance over three mentoring cycles. In cycle 1, teachers' understanding of the national curriculum policy increased to 78.2%, and understanding of the national curriculum implementation reached 74%, indicating a notable improvement from the pre-cycle phase. In cycle 2, further increases were recorded: understanding of learning objective flow rose to 79.42%, understanding of the learning model reached 88.4%, and understanding of the teaching module reached 87.8%, reflecting nearly optimal mastery. In cycle 3, teachers' comprehension regarding the practice of learning models attained 88.6%, signaling their capability to implement effective classroom instruction.

Abstract

The research objective is to determine the effectiveness of the Internet of Things (IoT)-based Flipped Classroom model on students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is meta-analysis research. Data sources come from national and international journals. The inclusion criteria in this research are that research must come from journals and proceedings indexed by SINTA, WOS and Scopus; Research from journals published from 2019-2023; Research must use experimental or quasi-experimental methods; Data source searches must be from the G,oogle Scholar, Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect, IEEE, and ERIC databases; and Research reports values (t), (r) and (f) and sample size > 20 students. Data analysis with the help of the JSAP application. The results of this study conclude that the summary effect size or mean effect size (rRE = 0.764; p < 0.001) has a high influence. In this meta-analysis, the author, year of publication, country of research, values (r), (t), and (f) are analyzed. These findings show that the Internet of Things (IoT) based flipped classroom model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills
