Abstract

Early mortality syndrome (EMS) is caused by toxic strains of Vibrio bacteria that are produced when bacteria colonize and form biofilm in the digestive tract of cultivated shrimp. One possible control strategy for shrimp Vibriosis is biofilm inhibition. In the present study we tested cell-free culture broth (CF-CB) of 31 strains obligate marine fungi for its ability to inhibit growth and biofilm formation with 2 isolates of Vibrio bacteria, Vibrio harveyi (VH1) and Vibrio parahaemolyticus (3HP). CF-CB with the highest biofilm inhibitory activity were then prepared as feed additives and mixed with commercial feed (1 ml to 1 g ratio) to examined its potency on Vibrio-challenged shrimp. The supplemented feed were administered to post-larvae (PL) shrimps for 7 days before and after they were challenged with VH1 and 3HP which shrimp health and mortality were monitored. Overall, CF-CB from 9 out of 31 isolates examined inhibited biofilm formation by VH1 and 17 out of 31 isolates inhibited biofilm formation by 3HP. Survival rate in the un-challenged negative control was 66% while PLs fed with MCR00984 (Linocarpon appendiculatum) and challenged with VH1 and 3HP were 42% and 60% which was not significantly different (p≥0,05). This results shows some promise for possible application against Vibriosis in shrimp.

Abstract

The growth in the number of investors in the financial market indicates that the investment world is currently experiencing rapid development. One of the long-term investment instruments that has experienced significant growth in the financial market is the stock market. Growth data as of September 2024 sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange report reveals that the number of stock market investors has reached more than 6 million single investor identification (SID). The share price of a company can be influenced by two main factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors come from within the company itself, while external factors come from conditions outside the company. Model development uses the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) method to predict daily stock sentiment in realtime. Labeling is done based on the history of stock price changes taken from Yahoo Finance. Stock market news data is obtained automatically every day through Really Simple Syndication (RSS) with the help of cronjob. The results of the LSTM model showed good performance, with a macro F1-Score of 0.73, a macro precision of 0.72, and a macro recall of 0.75. When compared to baseline models such as Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes, and Random Forest which only achieve a macro F1-Score of 0.58, 0.54, and 0.65, respectively, it can be concluded that the developed LSTM model has superior performance. This research can provide new considerations to investors, so as to reduce the risk of loss due to errors in choosing companies to invest in.

Abstract

Implementing SIMRS towards an integrated Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) is important for improving operating effectiveness and moving healthcare services closer to being fully digital. Some parts of SIMRS are still not fully implemented across all service units at Bhayangkara Hospital Kupang. For example, patient registration, billing, and electronic medical records are already in use, but they are not fully linked across all service units yet. Service flow, teamwork between departments, and decision-making based on facts are all less effective because of this. Through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document readings, the study used a qualitative descriptive case study method.Findings show that there are several major problems with creating an integrated SIMRS. These include inadequate IT infrastructure, staff members who aren’t good with computers, the lack of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments, and the continuation of a culture of doing things by hand. These problems lead to more work for the staff, duplicate data, delays in service and reporting, and unhappy patients. To make sure that SIMRS is used consistently and effectively, the hospital’s management needs to come up with a full system development plan that includes strengthening internal policies, training staff, improving infrastructure, and putting together a cross-unit coordination team. Improving user skills and getting the technology infrastructure ready should be at the center of system development so that SIMRS can be used to its fullest potential. A fully integrated SIMRS should help with work speed, service data clarity, real-time management decision-making, and, in the end, better patient care at Bhayangkara Hospital Kupang

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas manajemen presensi dalam Sistem Manajemen Pegawai Negeri Sipil (SIMPEGNAS) di instansi pemerintahan. SIMPEGNAS dirancang untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan sumber daya manusia, khususnya dalam pencatatan kehadiran pegawai. Namun, implementasinya menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kendala teknis, kurangnya pelatihan, dan resistensi terhadap perubahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, survei, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun SIMPEGNAS dapat mencatat kehadiran pegawai secara akurat, terdapat masalah dalam penggunaannya yang mempengaruhi tingkat kedisiplinan dan produktivitas pegawai. Persepsi pegawai terhadap sistem ini bervariasi, dengan beberapa merasa terbantu, sementara yang lain mengungkapkan kesulitan dalam adaptasi,.Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan pelatihan bagi pegawai, perbaikan infrastruktur teknis, dan sosialisasi yang lebih intensif mengenai manfaat sistem. Dengan langkah-langkah ini, diharapkan manajemen presensi dalam SIMPEGNAS dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan mendukung kinerja organisasi secara keseluruhan.Kata Kunci ; Manajemen Presensi, SIMPEGNAS, Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Manusia, Efektivitas, Kedisiplinan.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia is still a health problem. The TB prevalence in Indonesia ranks second in the world after India in 2023. Regional factors, inadequate healthcare facilities, and limited resources (financial, human, and infrastructure) are challenges requiring innovation to help the government control TB. TB eradication efforts need to be made with a comprehensive and effective approach. One method used is to look at the vast territory of Indonesia, therefore, mapping the TB disease vulnerability is a highly recommended method. The use of a Geographic Information System is expected to help map the TB vulnerability areas in Indonesia. Given the existence of several epidemiological, socio-geographic, and environmental factors influencing TB, the question arises of how to map TB vulnerability areas in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design, secondary data was collected from several sources, and a vulnerability analysis was performed by considering several socio-environmental epidemiological variables. Furthermore, after the analysis, the TB area vulnerability category would be obtained along with a map of TB vulnerability areas in Indonesia according to regional and district analysis units. This study produces a TB susceptibility index and map in Indonesia for the regions of Sumatra, Java-Bali, and other regions.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of walking therapy for Diabetes Mellitus patients in Naga Timbul Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, in 2023. The research method used is an intervention study with a pre-post design. The sample of this research is 50 randomly selected Diabetes Mellitus patients. They participated in a walking therapy program for 12 weeks with a frequency of three times a week. The results of the study showed a significant decrease in fasting blood sugar levels and HbA1c in participants after undergoing the walking therapy program. Additionally, there was a significant improvement in physical ability and psychological well-being of the participants. No significant side effects were reported by participants during the therapy program. This research concludes that walking therapy is effective in managing blood sugar levels and improving overall health in Diabetes Mellitus patients in Naga Timbul Village. This program can be considered as a safe and affordable alternative therapy for diabetes mellitus management, especially in rural areas.

Abstract

This community service was carried out with the aim of designing a Microsoft Access-based stock recording system to make it easier for Toko Agung Jaya, which is a store that provides building materials, to operate. Agung Jaya Store, which has been operational for 21 years, still does not have a correct stock recording method, so storage management still seems messy. In order to correct deficiencies in the shop, a system was designed to suit the partners’ needs, starting with collecting information using observation and interview methods. After obtaining the required information, the next step is to develop a system based on the data that has been collected. Apart from that, testing is carried out to see whether the system is suitable for use and can make things easier for partners. The implementation stage is carried out by converting partner storage data into a stock recording system that has been designed. The final stage of this service is training partners in using the system and making reports. The designed system has been successfully implemented and is able to meet the needs of partners so that this service to the community is considered successful.

Abstract

Usaha Dagang Afen is a is a business that sells various accessories such as: wallets, bags, jewelry boxes and so on. This business has not yet implemented a computerized based information system and has not used a database as a storage. Usaha Dagang Afen still uses a conventional system where there is no record of incoming, outgoing, and quantity of goods, so there is often a shortage or shortage of unknown goods which hinders selling, and inaccurate accounts receivable. The method of data collection carried out by the author is by interview, observation and literature study. The analysis technique used is an object-oriented analysis technique with the Unified Modeling Language (UML) as the modeling language and StarUML Ver 5.0.2.1570 as the modeling application. The system design application used is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 as the programming language, MySQL ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver, XAMPP Control Panel ver 3.3.0, MySQL ver 8.0 as the system design and database processing application. Based on the results of the research conducted, the authors produced a desktop based selling and inventory application that helps minimize the occurrence of incomplete invoices and uncontrolled inventory. Abstract

The world of education must adapt to computer technology developments to provide more optimal results. The ability to adapt to the world of education in computer technology can be achieved by implementing computerization in the learning system. The implementation is by building a learning application that contains unique material for each level of education. The research method used is the descriptive research method. The data collection techniques used were literature study, observation, and interviews. The data used is mathematics lesson data for grade 4 elementary school (SD) students. The research problem raised is how to design an Android-based mathematics application that is practical and easy to use. The solution that will be implemented in this research is to develop a mathematics application aimed at grade 4 elementary school students. Mathematics applications are created interactively to make learning mathematics easier and more comfortable. This application contains material regarding 4th-grade elementary school mathematics, exercises, and quizzes to determine how much children understand while studying. This application is also equipped with practice questions so that children can do the exercises given after studying the material provided in this application. This article aims to show a report on the results of creating a mathematics application called "MathIsFun." This mathematics application was developed in Android Studio with Firebase as user data collection. The Firebase used is Firebase Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database. Firebase Authentication makes it easy for users to log in to applications. Firebase Realtime Database synchronizes data in realtime for each connected user. Abstract

The continuous development of information technology has an impact on the security of sensitive data and information. Cryptography is one of the relevant techniques to maintain data security and confidentiality. The encryption process converts the original data into an unintelligible format called chipertext, while the decryption process converts the chipertext back into the original data or plaintext. This research designs a cryptographic application using 128 bit AES algorithm to increase the security and trust of users in sending and storing text data. This application helps users protect data and provides a high level of security. The research method used is a literature study. The object-oriented system design analysis technique uses UML to model the system structure. The test results show that the encryption and decryption process runs according to the functionality. Overall, this application can provide confidence to users in securing text data through the encryption and decryption process. This research is expected to be an effective solution for individuals and organizations in maintaining the confidentiality of information. This application is also expected to adapt to the ever-changing development of security technology, so that it remains relevant and effective in the future.
