Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir secara kritis siswa serta bersama-sama memecahkan suatu masalah di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 4 Pangkep kelas XI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai objek yang diteliti. Untuk mendapatkan sample, peneliti menggunakan purposive sampling dan menggunakan metode observasi dengan instrument checklist dan tes untuk mengumpulkan data. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk memanfaatkan PBL untuk mengajar berbicara yang telah digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris. Hal ini diharapkan dapat mengatasi kesulitan dalam proses belajar mengajar berbicara kepada siswa kelas XI. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) digunakan untuk mempelajari tentang proses belajar mengajar berbicara yang berpusat pada komponen bahasa (tata bahasa, kosa kata, pengucapan, dan kelancaran) dan tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbicara melalui PBL. Penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri dari siklus-siklus yang menyatu menuju peningkatan pemahaman situasional dan pelaksanaan tindakan. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan sebagai berikut: (a) Penerapan model PBL dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa karena dalam siklus 1 presentasi skor untuk observasi guru 84% berubah menjadi 90% dan observasi siswa yang awalnya 70% berubah menjadi 84%, (b) nilai rata-rata evaluasi mandiri pada siklus 1 67,13 dan presentasi ketuntasan 62,50% dan berubah menjadi 77,88% dan presentasi ketuntasan 87,50%. Jadi, indicator keberhasilan berhasil dicapai dengan yang diharapkan yaitu sekurang-kurangnya 85%. Sehingga peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan strategi yang sangat baik untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students in Social Studies at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. Additionally, it sought to determine the forms of development of critical thinking skills among these students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga was generally effective, though there were shortcomings in the reflection stage. The development of critical thinking skills among these students was gradually progressing and well-realized during the stages of Discovery Learning, with indicators including communication, creativity, problem-solving, openness, argumentation, confidence, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking. However, some indicators of skill development were not optimal due to factors such as shyness, lack of interest, or excessive joking among some students. Nevertheless, these issues could be addressed by teachers through motivating and maintaining classroom focus during the learning process. Notably, students demonstrated good proficiency in argumentation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking, while areas needing improvement included communication, openness, creativity, and confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of learning outcomes of 20 students of class V B UPTD SDN 48 Barru, after the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model in Natural Science (IPA) learning with the help of audio visuals. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which in its implementation there are researchers and collaborators. The data collection technique in this study is a direct technique while the data collection tool uses observation sheets and question sheets. This study was carried out with two cycles, the average value obtained by students after taking the final test from cycle I was 57 to cycle II, namely 85 from the ideal value that could possibly be achieved 100. Thus it can be concluded that the use of the STAD type cooperative learning model with the help of audio visuals can improve the learning outcomes of class V B UPTD SDN 48 Barru students.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mengkaji potensi pengembangan usaha mikro kuliner tiram bakar berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir di Tanete Rilau, Kabupaten Barru. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat pesisir, memperkuat potensi ekonomi lokal, dan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan kearifan lokal dalam pengolahan kuliner tiram bakar. Sementara itu, jenis pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif naratif. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, pengembangan usaha mikro kuliner tiram bakar berbasis kearifan lokal di Tanete Rilau, Kabupaten Barru, menunjukkan potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir melalui diversifikasi sumber pendapatan. Inisiatif ini tidak hanya meningkatkan nilai tambah ekonomi hasil laut, tetapi juga melestarikan tradisi lokal melalui pemanfaatan rempah-rempah daerah dan teknik pengolahan tradisional. Dukungan dari pemerintah, pelatihan, akses permodalan, dan pemasaran terbukti menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan program ini. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan modal, logistik, dan konsistensi kualitas produk, upaya ini berhasil menciptakan dampak positif, termasuk peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat hingga 30-40%. Program ini juga memberdayakan perempuan dan pemuda, menciptakan lapangan kerja baru, dan memperkuat partisipasi dalam rantai nilai yang lebih tinggi. Dengan strategi keberlanjutan, seperti pembentukan koperasi dan kolaborasi dengan berbagai pihak, usaha ini memiliki prospek cerah untuk menjadi model pengembangan ekonomi pesisir berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The dynamics of women's roles in urban society is a complex phenomenon that continues to change along with the times. Urban areas have become dynamic and diverse centers of life, creating challenges and opportunities for women in carrying out their roles. The purpose of the research is to explore the experiences, perceptions, and understandings of urban women about their roles in society. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data is obtained through in-depth interviews with 15 women from various backgrounds in Makassar city to understand women’s experiences directly and deeply, as well as direct observation of women's roles in the current urban society. The data collected will be analyzed thematically to find out the role of women in the current urban society. The results of this study show that the dynamics of women's roles in urban society have developed significantly along with social and economic transformation. In the midst of the development of cities, women are not only limited to their traditional roles as housewives, but are also increasingly actively involved in various sectors of life.

Abstract

This study highlights the cultural transformation of the millennial generation in urban Indonesia, influenced by technological advances, social media and globalisation. Despite maintaining a unique cultural identity, this generation faces challenges in maintaining a balance between modernity and cultural heritage. The implications include policy development and cultural maintenance in the future. Previous research has examined the influence of globalisation on young people, but this study provides a specific focus on millennials' responses to foreign culture and behavioural changes, making a valuable contribution to previous understanding.

Abstract

The role of women in the seaweed industry in Bonto Jai Village, Bissappu District, Bantaeng Regency, and its impact on improving the welfare of the local community. The method used is a qualitative paradigm with in-depth interview techniques, participatory observation. The results of the study show that women play an important role in the entire seaweed production process, from planting, maintenance, to processing and marketing. This role not only makes a significant contribution to the family economy but also empowers women socially and economically. The involvement of women in the seaweed industry has increased household income, strengthened women's positions in decision-making, and increased their access to education and health services. Therefore, women's empowerment in the seaweed industry in Bonto Jai Village has proven to be an effective strategy in efforts to improve the welfare of the community as a whole. Support from the government and related institutions is needed to strengthen and expand the positive impact of women's roles

Abstract

This study aims to improve the vocabulary and pronunciation skills of seventh-grade English learners at UPTD SMPN 2 Barru by implementing a project-based learning (PjBL) model. Utilizing the Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, this research unfolds over two cycles, where each cycle includes the phases of planning, execution, observation, and reflective analysis. Data collection involved tests, projects, and observational assessments to gauge student learning outcomes. The findings revealed a notable improvement in the average scores of students, rising from 62.92 in the initial cycle to 80.83 in the subsequent cycle. Furthermore, the proportion of students meeting completion criteria increased from 41.67% in the first cycle to 83.33% in the second cycle. Additionally, there was a marked enhancement in student participation, with learners demonstrating greater activity and confidence when presenting their work to the class. These outcomes suggest that the PjBL approach is effective in fostering student comprehension and engagement in English language learning. This study corroborates earlier research highlighting the advantages of PjBL, particularly in enhancing student motivation, collaboration, and academic performance. Consequently, it is recommended that strategies for implementing PjBL be meticulously crafted to optimize learning potential, cultivate a more conducive learning environment, and elevate students' academic success.

Abstract

This article discusses a community engagement project aimed at enhancing short story writing skills through media-based mind mapping at SMP Unismuh Makassar. The school faced challenges in improving students' creative writing abilities, particularly in narrative construction. In response, a mind mapping technique using media was implemented as an innovative teaching method. The project involved interactive workshops where students were guided in using mind mapping to organize their ideas and develop structured narratives. The results revealed a significant improvement in students' ability to create coherent and creative short stories. Feedback from both students and teachers indicated that the method effectively boosted student engagement and writing quality. The study concludes that media-based mind mapping is an effective tool for improving short story writing in educational settings, fostering creativity, and enhancing writing competencies.

Abstract

Students accustomed to more teacher-centered methods may find it challenging to take the initiative, create goals, and monitor their learning required by SRL. In addition to covering the essential material, teachers must create projects that promote SRL. This study aimed to test the effect of project-based Learning (PjBL) on empowering students’ self-regulated learning in some schools in South Sulawesi. The current study utilized a descriptive-quantitative methodology with structural equation modelling (SEM) and partial least squares (PLS) statistical analysis. The population of each school is 1.120 students. This study applied random purposive sampling, and the number of samples was 285 students. Findings show that the structural model reflected the relationship between variables and tested the hypothesis in the inner model. The results described that implementation of project-based learning is effective on student’s self-regulated learning is proved by a t-test of 38.745 smaller than the t-table of 1.96 and the p-value is smaller than 0.05 (p-value =0.00) so it can be seen that all indicators on self-regulated learning have a positive influence on the implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) model. It can be concluded that the key determinant that has the most substantial influence on the quality of students is the effective delivery of project-based learning in fostering the development of self-regulated learning. The implication requires professional development to effectively integrate PjBL with SRL strategies. Training could focus on designing projects that promote self-regulation and developing assessment methods of students' SRL skills.
