Abstract

This research aimed to determine the agriculturalbasis sub-sector, to analyseagricultural specialization sub-sector, to analyseagricultural sub-sector performances, and to determine priorities of agricultural sub-sector development. Data analysis tools used in this research were location quotient (LQ) analysis, growth ratio model (MRP), overlay, shift share Esteban Marquillas (SS-EM), and sectorial typology. The contribution criteria in the LQ analysis show that cropshave become agricultur albasis sub-sector.Based on the growth criteria, the analysis of MRP produces positive growth rate on crops, forestry and logging sub-sectors.  The overlay analysis shows that the food cropshavebecome the agricultural basis sub sector. The analysis of SS-EM indicates that only food crop sub-sector has competitive and specialized advantage in Parigi Moutong district. The sectorial typology analysis suggests that the priority agricultural sub sectors belong to food crops, horticulture, forestry, and fishery whereas the potential sub sectors are plantation and agricultural services.  Livestock is a developing sub sector.   The food crops sub sector is the main priority in the agricultural sector development in Parigi Moutong district because this sub sector contribute largely to the agricultural sector and it has positive growth, specialization and highly competitive in both district and province levels.  It is also the priority sub sector with higher contribution to Central Sulawesi development. Keywords:Agricultural sub-sector, basis sector, contribution, and growth rate.

Abstract

The lack of tenure and limited production factors causing coastal communities always be trapped on the circle of poverty, or far from prosperous. The research objective is to optimize the use of seaweed production factors that integrated with milkfish to improve the welfare of coastal communities in Indonesia. Data analysis employed Multiple Goal Programming methods. The results showed that the average of pond tenure by farmers covering 5,1 Ha with seaweed production 13,191 tons, and profits IDR76,347,700.0 per year (1USD equal to 13,000IDR). The maintenance costs of pond is the kind of production factor that limited availability, while production factors seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, and pesticides, are relatively available to farmers. Optimization results the integrated management of pond show the maximum revenue is achieved IDR1,089.89 million, labor employment 72 people, and target of seaweed production reached 188.65 tons. This means that the welfare of the farmers can be improved through the expansion of pond, and the addition of the production factor, especially capital and fertilizer.

Abstract

The marine area of Tojo Una-Una District has the potential for fishery resources and small islands resources which are used for fishery activities and marine ecotourism. Although most of its territorial waters are a conservation area of the Togean Islands National Park (TINP), in the utilization of fish resources in this area, some still use destructive tools that threaten the habitat and preserve of pelagic fish resources and the economic sustainability of local communities. This study aims to estimate the maximum economic potential of the catch and the level of utilization of pelagic fish resources in Tojo Una-Una district’s sea waters. The research data used combines time-series data from pelagic fish catches and fishing effort (trips) from 2003 to 2015, field survey data, and analyzed using the Gordon-Schaefer Bioeconomic Model approach or the Surplus Production Model. The estimation results show that the total maximum economic Yield (MEY) of pelagic fish resources in the waters of Tojo Una-Una District is quite large, namely 14,950.54 tons per year. Although the potential level of economic utilization of large pelagic fish resources is higher than the use of small pelagic fish, the potential economic rent obtained from the use of small pelagic fish is still higher than that of large pelagic fish. Given that the utilization of pelagic fish resources in the waters of Tojo Una-Una District is under MEY, a careful addition to the capacity of the fishing effort is needed to increase the economic benefits of fish resources for fishermen and the region. Keywords:Estimation,Maximum Economic Yield Pelagic FishABSTRAKWilayah perairan laut Kabupaten Tojo Una-Una memiliki potensi sumberdaya perikanan dan sumberdaya pulau-pulau kecil yang dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan perikanan dan ekowisata bahari. Abstract

Penyadap → Pedagang Besar → Konsumen (eksportir).
