Abstract

The elderly population often experiences a decline in social interaction and cognitive function, especially in institutional settings such as the Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi Social Home in Bandung. Residents frequently face isolation and reduced mental stimulation, which impairs their emotional well-being and independence. This study aims to design a board game that enhances social togetherness and improves cognitive ability among older women in the institution. Using a Design Thinking methodology, researchers engaged in five stages: empathize (through interviews and observations), define (via SWOT analysis and crossover), ideate (sketching concepts and mind mapping), prototype (creating physical mock-ups), and test (evaluating usability with real users). The final product, titled "ABC Brain Teaser," features bright, high-contrast visuals and simple but challenging rules tailored to older people’s preferences and cognitive capabilities. Testing revealed that participants found the game engaging, easy to use, and beneficial for memory stimulation and interaction. The board game effectively addressed the lack of communal activity and provided an inclusive tool for cognitive exercise. This research offers a replicable model for elderly care institutions seeking non-pharmacological interventions to enhance life quality, demonstrating that board games can be both therapeutic and socially empowering when designed with empathy and local context in mind.

Abstract

A nursing home is a place that provides care and housing services for the elderly who need assistance in living their daily lives. Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi Social Home is one of the many nursing homes in Bandung. Supporting the welfare of the elderly, this Budi Pertiwi nursing home does not charge any fees from its residents, this allows them to face uncertain funding challenges because they are completely dependent on community donations. To increase public awareness of the importance of the existence of this nursing home and create a more comfortable atmosphere for the elderly, utilizing social media by presenting creative content that involves the elderly, such as video storytelling about their daily activities is a fairly effective problem solving. This orphanage seeks to build an emotional bond between the residents of the orphanage and the audience. Persuasive communication strategies are used to encourage more donors to contribute to meeting the needs of the elderly. This approach not only aims to attract the attention of the public, but also creates empathy and collective awareness of the importance of providing support to the elderly.

Abstract

Sekolah Dewi Sartika Bandung merupakan lembaga pendidikan bersejarah yang awalnya bernama Sakola Kautamaan Istri dan didirikan untuk memberikan akses pendidikan bagi perempuan. Seiring waktu, sekolah ini mengalami penurunan popularitas akibat regulasi dan persaingan institusi pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang program mini course eksperimental berbasis pemikiran Raden Dewi Sartika guna mengembalikan identitas sekolah serta menjawab isu global seperti kesetaraan gender dan pencemaran lingkungan. Program dirancang dengan pendekatan design thinking melalui tahapan empati, define, ideate, prototipe, dan test. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil perancangan meliputi konsep rancangan program berbasis nilai kemandirian dan keberdayaan perempuan, bahan ajar, isi modul, serta model bisnis sederhana untuk mendukung keberlanjutan program. Program ini ditujukan untuk memperkuat citra sekolah sebagai institusi berbasis nilai lokal dan relevan secara sosial, serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) dengan pendekatan kreatif dan aplikatif. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi strategi edukatif yang adaptif terhadap tantangan zaman dan bermanfaat untuk penguatan karakter siswa melalui warisan nilai budaya pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer behavior in live streaming, focusing on gift-giving behavior on YouTube Gaming in Indonesia and Douyu in China. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research explores the influence of parasocial presence (PSR) and social presence (SP) on viewers’ decisions to gift to streamers. The study also conducts a comparative analysis with previous research on Douyu to identify similarities and differences in audience behavior. The findings indicate that although PSR influences gift-giving behavior, its effect is stronger on YouTube Gaming than on Douyu, where higher donation amounts are observed. These results contribute to the understanding of the evolution of digital culture, particularly regarding consumerism in new media, and its global cultural relevance.

Abstract

Dewi Sartika is an Indonesian educational figure who made a major contribution to advancing women's education in the early 20th century. The educational values she taught, such as life skills, are now starting to be forgotten in the modern education system, including at Dewi Sartika Elementary and Junior High Schools in Bandung. Based on the analysis of school conditions, it was identified that the lack of implementation of Dewi Sartika's values had an impact on the weak identity of the school. This study aims to design an illustration book as a companion to the craft-based mini course program to preserve Dewi Sartika's educational values and increase the program's appeal. This Illustration Book Supporting the “Keputrian” Program is designed with a focus on craft materials, such as hot press techniques to process plastic into new products, adopting visual narratives that are relevant to the learning styles of the younger generation. The design thinking approach is used to ensure that the designed solutions are able to meet the needs of users, namely students, teachers, and tourists. By combining elements of aesthetics, ergonomics, and Sundanese culture, this book is expected to be an effective, interesting, and inspiring educational media for readers. This design not only supports the preservation of traditional aspects and skills, but also supports the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGS), especially in quality education and gender equality.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar curriculum and Green School guidelines emphasize project-based learning as a vehicle for cultivating environmental responsibility. However, in practice, students often exhibit low green affective responses and struggle to care for plants in classroom projects—an issue observed during preliminary fieldwork at SMPN 1 Warureja Tegal. To address this, the study aimed to design a meaningful and engaging gamified module that fosters environmental awareness through experiential learning. Employing a design thinking approach, the Mystery Box Plant game was developed, wherein students receive unidentified plant seeds and and must nurture them until growth allows identification. The element of curiosity, paired with real-time observation, invites deeper reflection on the care process. Students can only “win” by successfully growing and identifying their plant—thus linking responsibility with reward. Pre-test and post-test instruments were used to assess attitudinal change. Results indicate the module not only increased student engagement and responsibility in plant care but also enhanced their understanding of why environmental stewardship matters. By integrating meaningful learning strategies, the game facilitates the internalization of ecological values and encourages the formation of a sustained, affective mindset toward environmental care—advancing both curricular goals and long-term behavioral change.

Abstract

Konten visual dapat berperan penting dalam komunikasi pada era digitalisasi saat ini, tidak hanya memperkuat pesan yang disampaikan tetapi juga dapat sebagai pembeda dengan perusahan pesaingnya. Untuk mengetahui positioning dan targeting terhadap identitas visual perlu diadakan suatu studi terhadap kompetitornya. Kaji banding visual dilakukan pada salah satu konten video promosi perusahan layanan akikah Syamil Aqiqah dengan perusahaan sejenisnya seperti Sahabat Aqiqah, Aqiqah Dinar dan Dapur Aqiqah di salah satu platform digital yaitu TikTok. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis  kualitas visual video TikTok Syamil Aqiqah dalam rangka meningkatkan daya saing produk perusahaan serta merumuskan strategi promosi yang efektif di platform tersebut. Analisis visual konten video dilakukan dengan menggunakan matriks perbandingan dengan pendekatan prinsip-prinsip desain komunikasi visual sehingga ditemukan masing-masing layanan memiliki pendekatan perancangan yang beragam, mulai dari penggunaan layout, tipografi, warna hingga penerapan motion graphic sebagai penarik konsumen. Visual promosi yang menarik dan platform media promosi yang tepat adalah upaya dalam meningkatkan minat konsumen sebagai bagian dalam strategi promosinya. Di samping itu dapat meningkatkan kesadaran merek terhadap produk layanan akikah ini. Hasil kaji banding visual video di TikTok adalah untuk memposisikan kembali perusahaan Syamil Aqiqah lebih unik berbeda dan memiliki kekhasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data seperti observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Syamil Aqiqah memiliki keunggulan dalam beberapa aspek, tetapi masih perlu meningkatkan aspek visualnya untuk bersaing secara lebih efektif dengan pesaing utamanya, Sahabat Aqiqah. Kesimpulan menekankan pentingnya memahami dan memperbaiki kualitas visual dalam promosi produk atau layanan yang ditawarkan, terutama melalui evaluasi terus menerus untuk mengoptimalkan strategi promosi Syamil Aqiqah.

Abstract

Syamil Aqiqah is a business that operates in the field of aqiqah catering services and general catering and has been established for six years since 2018. Syamil already has three branches, namely in Jakarta, Depok and Bogor. As a company developing in the food sector, Syamil Aqiqah needs to optimize its sales, therefore social media is used as a medium for publication and promotional purposes. This research aims to understand how Instagram functions as a promotional media tool for Syamil Aqiqah. This research was analyzed using social media communication theory as a promotional media tool. This research was implemented using a qualitative descriptive approach method. The data collection procedure in this research was through observation and interviews. In this research, Syamil Aqiqah has used Instagram as its promotional media and in applying it, Syamil Aqiqah focuses more on spreading information related to aqiqah and stories about customer experiences after using catering services at Syamil via the Syamilaqiqahofficial Instagram platform.Keywords: Instagram, Communication, Promotion, Social MediaAbstrakSyamil Aqiqah adalah sebuah bisnis yang bergerak dibidang jasa catering aqiqah dan catering umum dan telah berdiri selama enam tahun sejak tahun 2018. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami seperti apa Instagram berfungsi sebagai alat media promosi dari Syamil Aqiqah. Penelitian ini di analisis menggunakan teori komunikasi sosial media sebagai alat media promosi. Penelitian ini diimplementasikan dengan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Prosedur perolehan data dalam penelitian ini melalui observasi dan wawancara. Abstract

The populationoftwo-wheeledand four-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia willreach more than 141 million units in 2021, encouraging the growth of the car wash industry. The challenge of customer queues in small areas was highlighted, sparking the idea of a technology-based solution. Through a design thinking approach,awebappfororderingcarwashinformationwasdesignedtoovercome the problem of limited land area and insufficient human resources. Using Figma indesigning userinterfaces (UI) prioritizes harmonious layout elements,contrast, and clear typography.Prototype testing is carried out to ensure the solution meets user needs. The literature review includes Design Thinking, User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX), User Flow, Figma, and Usability Testing. It is hoped that implementing this WebApp can increase car wash operational efficiency,reduce customer queues, and provide a better customer experience.
