Abstract

Student learning motivation will increase, which is determined by the teacher's ability to learn design. As a result, students are more interested in actively searching and finding their ideas. This study aims to determine increased student activity and motivation to learn mathematics on Limited trigonometric function. Researchers used the Window-Shopping learning model assisted by Padlet. This research is a collaborative Classroom Action Research. The subjects in this study are students of class XII-1 at Madani Integrated Model Senior High School in the 2023/2024 academic year. The stages in the research follow the flow of Kemmis and McTaggart and consist of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection in this study was conducted by observing student activity during the teaching and learning process and using questionnaires. The results showed that students' learning activities are significantly increased. This happens more when they are involved in the learning process; consequently, students can build their knowledge. Students support each other, share ideas, and collaborate in constructing their knowledge. In addition, the results of this study are based on the completion of a student learning motivation questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire obtained in the first cycle, it amounted to 70.67%. In the second cycle, it increased by 11.35%. So, the total increase is 82.02%. This can be categorized in the predicate "good."

Abstract

Understanding students' cognitive processes in solving mathematical problems is crucial for improving instructional strategies and learning outcomes. However, limited studies have examined students' commognitive aspects in the context of geometric problem-solving, particularly in relation to cognitive styles such as Field-Independent (FI) and Field-Dependent (FD) tendencies. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the four aspects of commognition word use, visual mediators, narratives, and routines demonstrated by students when solving story problems on the surface area of a square pyramid. The study also explores the patterns of thinking and solution strategies employed by FI and FD students in approaching these problems. Conducted in Class VIII A at SMP Negeri 1 Sigi, the study involved two male students, one representing each cognitive style, to highlight differences in problem-solving approaches while controlling for gender. Data collection involved the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) to determine cognitive style, validated problem-solving task sheets, and semi-structured interviews conducted in parallel with the written tasks. Data were analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that FI students approach problem-solving with greater detail, clarity, efficiency, and accuracy, explicitly demonstrating all four aspects of commognition. In contrast, FD students exhibit clarity, efficiency, and accuracy but lack detail and thoroughness in their written responses. Both cognitive styles demonstrate all four commognitive aspects, with notable differences in the narrative component FI students explicitly write formulas, whereas FD students understand the formulas but do not record them in writing. These findings provide valuable insights into how cognitive styles influence mathematical problem-solving and commognitive development, offering implications for differentiated instructional strategies in mathematics education.

Abstract

Instruments are tool that used to collect research data. The instrument consists of two types, namely the main and supporting instruments. In this paper, we develop the supporting instruments which are used in qualitative research such as commognitive perspective. The instrument development aims to explore and reveal students' cognition in understanding derivative tasks that are valid and reliable. It means the instrument is needed in order to explore cognition and communication in an inseparable manner according to the theory used in this research. The two supporting instruments that developed in this study are the mathematical ability test (MAT) and the derivatives understanding task (TMT). Moreover, the developed MAT instrument is accompanied by source questions, grids and indicators. The MAT consists of 10 questions, and this was tested empirically in the category of valid and high reliability. Furthermore, TMT is developed as a reference for exploring student commognition. The TMT consists of 14 questions. The preparation and development of the instruments in this study are based on relevant theories and supported by empirical data. At the expert review step, validation is carried out in terms of content, construct and language by experts. Each step is tested for readability, then suggestions and comments are provided for improvement. The final results obtained show that the two supporting instruments (MAT and TMT) are feasible to use in exploring student commognition because these bring up keywords, visual mediators, endorsed narratives, and routines, as a commognition character. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan model pem­belajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan permainan maju mundur untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat di Kelas VII SMPN 4 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui observasi, tes tertulis, wawancara dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan permainan maju mundur yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat dengan mengikuti fase-fase yaitu: 1) menyampaikan tujuan dan memotivasi siswa, 2) penyajian kelas, 3) transisi ke tim, 4) tim studi dan monitoring, 5) evaluasi, dan 6) penghargaan kelompok. Pada fase 1 peneliti menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran dan manfaat pembelajaran untuk memotivasi siswa; pada fase 2 peneliti menyajikan materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat melalui pendemonstrasian permaianan maju mundur; pada fase 3 peneliti membagi siswa ke dalam beberapa kelompok terdiri 5 s.d 6 siswa; pada fase 4 peneliti memberikan soal-soal kepada siswa dalam bentuk LKS dan peneliti memberikan bimbingan seperlunya; pada fase 5 siswa diberikan tes individu tanpa menggunakan permainan maju mundur; pada fase 6 peneliti memberikan peghargaan kepada setiap kelompok. Kata Kunci: kooperatif tipe STAD, permainan maju mundur, hasil belajar, penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Abstrack: This research aim to obtain description about applying cooperative learning of STAD with the assist of games back and forth to improve student study result on addition and substraction of integers in class VII SMPN 4 Palu. This research was a classroom action research which refers to the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart’s design, that is plan, action, observation, and reflection. This study consists of two cycles. Data collection techniques gained through observation, written test, interview and field notes. The results of this research indicating that through applying of Cooperative Learning of STAD can improve students study of addition and subtraction of integers with the steps 1) convey the learning purpose and motivating, 2) the presentation of the class, 3) transition to the team, 4) the study team and monitoring, 5) evaluation, and 6) giving appreciation. At the 1th phase, researcher convey the learning purpose and benefit to motivate the student; at the 2nd phase, researcher presented addition and subtraction of integers through the demonstration of back and forth games usage; at the 3rd phase, researcher divided the students into groups consist of 5 to 6 student; at the 4th phase, researcher gave task in worksheet to the students and researcher guided them to do that; at the 5th phase, the students are given individual tests without using a back and forth game, and at the 6th phase, researcher gave appreciation to each group. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa melakukan kesalahan-kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Palu. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan meng­gunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu pemberian tes dan wawancara. Untuk menguji keabsahan data, dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi metode yaitu mencari kesesuaian data hasil tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang melaku­kan kesalahan-kesalahan seperti kesalahan konseptual dan kesalahan prosedural, dengan kesalahan konseptual meliputi kesalahan konsep dan fakta. Sedangkan kesalahan prosedural meliputi kesalahan tidak menyamakan penyebut dengan benar, kesalahan melakukan pengerjaan yang tidak lengkap dan tidak menuliskan yang diketahui dan ditanyakan dari soal, yang memerlukan perhatian dan bimbingan lagi. Kata kunci: jenis kesalahan, operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar. Abstrak: Aim’s this research is to get description about various of faults that done by student and causative factors student do faults in solve quetion about addition and substraction form algebra at class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Palu. The data in this research, it’s collecting with by use data collected tech is given test and interview. To examine data authenticity, done by tech of triangulation methodics which is look for data suitability result of test and interview. The result of this research show that still a lot of student that do faults such as conceptual and prosedural’s fault, with conceptual fault consist of concept and fact fault. Meanwhile prosedural fault consist of fault not equal denominator correctly, fault does working not complete and not write that acknowledged and is asked from question, that require attention and guidance again. Keywords: various of faults, operate for sum computing and algebra form cut back.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing dalam rangka meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bentuk pangkat di kelas X MIA SMA Negeri 6 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Rancangan penelitian ini mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bentuk pangkat di kelas X MIA SMA Negeri 6 Palu melalui langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: (1) perumusan masalah, guru memberikan informasi pokok-pokok materi dan memberikan LKS kepada siswa; (2) pemrosesan data dan penyusunan konjektur, siswa mengamati, menalar dan mencoba mengerjakan LKS secara berkelompok serta menyusun konjektur dari LKS yang dikerjakan; (3) pemeriksaan konjektur, guru memeriksa hasil konjektur siswa dan memberikan alasan terhadap konjektur siswa yang melakukan kesalahan; (4) verbalisasi konjektur, siswa mempresentasikan hasil kerja kelompoknya di depan kelas; dan (5) umpan balik, guru memberikan soal latihan kepada siswa. Kata Kunci: Metode Penemuan Terbimbing; Hasil Belajar; Bentuk Pangkat. Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the application of guided discovery method in order to improve students learning outcomes on material exponential form of in Class X MIA SMA Negeri 6 Palu. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). As the research design refers to the design of the research of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart that is (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation and (4) reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The research results showed that the applying the guided discovery method can improve students learning outcomes on material exponential form in Class X MIA SMA Negeri 6 Palu through the following steps: (1) formulation of the problem, teachers provide information points materials and worksheets to students; (2) data processing and preparation of conjecture, students observe, reason and try to do the worksheets in groups and formulate a conjecture of worksheets is done; (3) examination conjecture, teachers examine the results of a conjecture of students and provide a reason to conjecture that students make mistakes; (4) verbalization conjecture, students presented the results of group work in front of the class; and (5) feedback, teachers give practice questions to students. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi jajargenjang dan trapesium. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 17 siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Khairat Tondo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, catatan lapangan, observasi kegiatan guru dan kegiatan siswa serta hasil tes akhir siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi jajargenjang dan trapesium di kelas VII MTs Al-Khairat Tondo mengikuti langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: 1) pemanasan, 2) pengamatan, 3) interpretasi hasil pengamatan, 4) peramalan, 5) pengkajian, 6) generalisasi penemuan, 7) penerapan dan 8) komunikasi. Kata kunci: pendekatan keterampilan proses, hasil belajar, jajargenjang, trapesium. Abstract: The purpose of the research is to describe the application of process skill approachment in increasing the student’s result in studying the trapezoid and rhomboid material. The subject of this research was 17 of the seventh grade student’s VII of MTs Al-Khairat Tondo. The type of this research is a classroom action research. The data were obtained from the interview result, field notes, the observation of the student’s and theacher activities and the final tes result of the student’s. This studying was conducted in two cycles. The results showed the application of process skill approachment can increase the student’s the trapezoid and rhomboid material in class VII of MTs Al-Khairat Tondo follow the steps below: 1) heating, 2) observation, 3) interpretation of the results of observation, 4) forecasting, 5) assessment, 6) generalization discovery, 7) application and 8) communication. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran langsung dengan menggunakan strategi Polya yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita untung dan rugi di kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Palu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Rancangan penelitian mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Data yang dikumpulkan pada penelitian ini adalah data aktivitas guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, data aktivitas siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan data hasil tes akhir tindakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran langsung dengan menggunakan strategi Polya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita untung dan rugi. Pada penelitian ini peneliti mengikuti fase-fase pada model pembelajaran langsung yaitu menyampaikan tujuan dan mempersiapkan siswa, presentasi dan demonstrasi, membimbing pelatihan, mengecek pemahaman siswa dan memberi­kan umpan balik, serta memberikan kesempatan untuk pelatihan lanjutan dan penerapan. Dalam membimbing pelatihan, peneliti menggunakan langkah-langkah Polya yaitu memahami masalah, membuat perencanaan, melaksanakan perencanaan, dan melakukan pengecekan kembali. Kata kunci : Pembelajaran langsung, Strategi Polya, Hasil belajar, Untung dan Rugi. Abstract: The research aimed to describe the application of direct learning model and polya strategy to increase the result study of students in finishing essay about loss and profit class VII SMP negeri 2 Palu. This research is a kind of classroom action research (CAR). This research is made based on the research design of Kemmis and Mc Taggart that consist of four components, they are (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. This research consists of two cycles. The data is gained from the teacher’s activity in learning process and student’s activity in following the learning process and the action test data. The result of the research shows that the application of direct learning model and polya strategy are able to increase the student’s result study in finishing the questions about loss and profit. In this research, the researcher follows the phases on the direct learning model to describe the purposes, prepare the students, give presentation and demonstration, guide exercises, check the student’s understanding, give feedback, and give chance to the next exercises and implementation. In guiding exercises, the researcher uses the steps of Polya strategies; understanding the problem, making plan, doing plan, and checking again. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 26 Sigi pada materi operasi hitung bentuk aljabar. Jenis penelitian merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yakni perencanaan, tindakan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi operasi hitung bentuk aljabar, mengikuti langkah-langkah: 1) guru menyiapkan siswa untuk bekerjasama dalam kelompok, sebelum pembelajaran dimulai guru membagi siswa dalam kelompok, terdiri dari 4 siswa yang heterogen; 2) guru memberikan soal dengan cara diundi diberikan kepada masing-masing kelompok; 3) dua siswa dari masing-masing kelompok, meninggalkan kelompoknya dan bertamu ke kelompok lain untuk mencari jawaban dan informasi secara aktif; 4) dua siswa yang tinggal di kelompok, memberikan jawaban dan informasi kepada dua siswa yang bertamu agar meminimalisir siswa yang malu bertanya; 5) tamu mohon diri, kembali ke kelompoknya masing-masing untuk melaporkan hasil temuan dari kelompok lain secara aktif dan didiskusikan; dan 6) kelompok mencocokkan dan membahas hasil kerja mereka dengan cara presentasi. Kata Kunci: Kooperatif tipe TSTS , hasil belajar, operasi hitung bentuk aljabar. Abstract: The research aimed to describe description of cooperative learning of TSTS to Improve Students learning outcomes of algebra operation in VII grade students at SMP Negeri 26 Sigi. This research applied a classroom action research (CAR). This research refers to Kemmis’ and Mc.Taggart’s design which consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The result of this research indicating that the appliedable to improve students learning of cooperative learning outcomes in algebra operation, as the phases 1) students preparing to work in group, teacher divided students in groups before the learing process began; 2) teacher give matterto each group by lot; 3) two students from each group, to leave the group and a visit to the other groups to seek answers and information actively; 4) two students who lived grouped, provide answer and information to the two students who visit to minimize students who are shy to ask; 5) guest excused himself, returning to each group to report the findings of other groups are actively; and 6) Each group the compare or mateh and discuss the results of their work all the way presentation. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas IX dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita keliling dan luas lingkaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian diambil tiga siswa dari 55 siswa kelas IX yang mengikuti tes. Siswa dikelompokkan dalam tiga kategori yakni siswa berkemampuan tinggi, siswa berkemampuan sedang dan siswa berkemampuan rendah. Setiap kategori diwakili oleh satu siswa. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh subjek berkemampuan tinggi dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita keliling dan luas lingkaran adalah kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep dan kesalahan prinsip. (2) Jenis kesalahan siswa berkemampuan sedang adalah kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep dan kesalahan prosedural. (3) Jenis kesalahan siswa berkemampuan rendah adalah kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep, kesalahan prosedural dan kesalahan prinsip. Kata kunci: Analisis kesalahan, Soal cerita keliling dan Luas lingkaran, Fakta, Konsep, prinsip, Prosedural Abstract: This qualitative descriptive research aimed to describe the types errors made by students of grade IX in completing circumference and circle area. Subjects were taken 3 students of grade IX, they were 55 students who took the test. The criteria are high ability student, medium ability student and low ability student. Each category is repreented by one student. Based on the result of research, students error in completing word problems of circumference and circle area were: (1) the type of errors made by a subject high ability student are fact error, misconceptions, and principle error. (2) the type or errors made by a subject medium ability student are fact error, misconceptions, and procedurall error. (3) the type errors made by a subject low ability student are fact error, misconceptions, procedural error, and principle error.
