Abstract

Kuripansari Village, situated on the slopes of Mount Arjuno, possesses significant natural and cultural potential for development as an environmentally based tourism village rooted in local wisdom. However, its development has not yet been carried out in a structured and contextually appropriate manner. Through a community service initiative, a series of awareness-building and village potential mapping activities were conducted using a participatory and educational approach to foster public engagement in shaping the direction of tourism development. The program featured speakers from local communities and village youth, who presented materials on tourism management, the nutritional value of wild edible plants, and community empowerment. The results indicated a high level of enthusiasm among participants and growing awareness of the village's unique assets, particularly in developing educational tourism based on the use of wild plants. In addition to the outreach activities, a greenhouse facility was established to support both cultivation and education. This initiative serves as a foundational step toward developing a contextual, sustainable, and community-driven tourism model.

Abstract

Child labor continues to be one of the most urgent global issues, highlighting ongoing social, economic, and ethical dilemmas that cross national and disciplinary lines. In spite of numerous international policy efforts and advocacy over the years, millions of children around the globe still endure exploitation in different types of labor, which has significant consequences for their rights, education, health, and future development. Grasping the progression of academic focus on this matter is essential, not only to chart current understanding but also to pinpoint gaps and emerging avenues for research that can guide effective interventions. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global scholarly publications on child labor from 1902 to 2025. Drawing on a Scopus dataset of 1,831 documents extracted from 815 publication sources, this research employs Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to analyze trends, authorship, institutional contributions, country participation, and thematic evolution within the literature. The findings reveal a steady yet accelerated growth in academic interest, particularly from the 1990s onward, coinciding with rising global awareness of children’s rights, poverty, and education. Despite a moderate average annual growth rate of 1.53%, the field has diversified significantly, encompassing themes such as economic development, social policy, gender, and child welfare. The most influential publications are rooted in development economics and social studies, with increasing contributions from journals focused on sustainability, ethics, and education. Prominent scholars and institutions, mainly from the United States and the United Kingdom, have dominated the field, though contributions from the Global South remain underrepresented. Emerging thematic trends include the intersection of child labor with technological change, digitization, and climate vulnerability. However, several research gaps persist, particularly in gender-disaggregated analysis, sector-specific studies, localized and longitudinal impact assessments, and theoretical integration across disciplines. The study highlights the need for future research to adopt interdisciplinary, inclusive, and forward-looking approaches that engage with the evolving realities of child labor, especially in light of digital economies, global crises, and systemic inequalities. These insights aim to inform more equitable and effective policy responses to the persistent global challenge of child labor.

Abstract

Tuberculosis was a cause of global morbidity and mortality. Sumenep Regency has a high number of TBC cases, namely in 2017 were 1,627 people and 1,709 people in 2018. The difficulty in overcoming them is mainly due to the public and drug managers' understanding regarding drug side effects. Therefore, it is necessary to increase their literacy regarding this matter. This research aims to analyze the influence of Focus Group Discussions on farmer group members' understanding of the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis. It also analyzes the understanding of community health center drug managers regarding the side effects of TBC drugs and how to deal with them. A quasi-experimental design, with a pretest – posttest design, was carried out on 49 members of the Bungbungan village farmer group and 39 community health center drug managers in Sumenep. The results showed that the farmer group understanding scores before and after the intervention were as follows: 6.02±1.19 and 6.69±1.46. for drug managers were 14.67±2.41 and 18.36±1.65. Conclusion The Focus Group Discussion had an impact on increasing understanding of the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis for farmer groups, and for community health center drug managers it had an impact on understanding the side effects of TBC drugs and how to deal with them.

Abstract

Southwest Papua has abundant local food resources; however, they have not yet been optimally utilized by the community. At the same time, stunting prevalence in the region reaches 30.5 percent, exceeding the national average. This community service program aimed to enhance nutritional literacy, local food processing skills, and community food self-reliance through collaboration between Universitas Airlangga, the Sinagi Papua Community, and Green Living Support. The program employed several methods, including a survey of local food plants, food processing training involving 25 indigenous Papuan women from Klatomok, Asbaken, and Malagubtuk villages, and game-based nutrition education for 37 students of SD YPK Maranatha Malagubtuk. In addition, the program resulted in the establishment of Sinagi Papua Food-Lab as a local culinary innovation center. The results indicate improvements in nutritional knowledge, the emergence of small-scale enterprises based on locally sourced flour, and increased community confidence in using local food resources. These findings demonstrate that a local potential–based approach significantly contributes to stunting prevention and to strengthening community economic self-reliance.
