Abstract

This research was carried out in Tanjung Bastian Beach, on February and March 2009. The aim of this research is to identify composition, structure and environment condition of mangrove vegetation in Tanjung Bastian Beach, North Middle East Regency, Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur.Research method used was observation and squares sampling technique that straight with beach line toward upland. Data was analyzed using vegetation analysis.The result of this research shows that Tanjung Bastian mangrove with mangrove thickness about 50 – 1000 m, arranged by 29 type mangrove vegetation which consist of 11 major mangrove, 5 minor mangrove and 13 mangrove associate. In the A location where the activity was high, Significant Value Index of plant level and highest plant, dominated by Bruguiera gymnorrhiza 79,49% and 99,88%, while for pole level and seedling, dominated by Rhizophora apiculata 106,93% and 50,02%. In B location, the highest INP of plant level, pole and seedling dominated by B. gymnorrhiza with score 62,03%; 99,57%; 108,52% and 48,22%. B. gymnorrhiza also dominates for plant level, pole and seedling in C location with each value 55,05%; 49,68%; 69,39% and 35,81%. B. gymnorrhiza is predicted to dominate mangrove trees population in the Tanjung Bastian mangrove area. This is indicated with high population of seedling level and pole in the location with medium activity level and nature forest. Vegetation Variety Index Tanjung Bastian beach mangrove range between 0.6774 -1,1513, catagorized as poor.Destruction level of mangrove vegetation in C location nature forest is still in good category, while for B and A location medium and high activity is categorized as damage mangrove forest according to SK MENLH RI No. 201 Year 2004, about Standard Criteria and Standard of Mangrove Damage Principle.Condition of basic substrate in Tanjung Bastian mangrove dominated by sandy loam with organic-C range between 0,40 -4,04%. N value, range between 0,03 -0.12%, P, 12,72 -44,47ppm, while K rate, 202,81 – 671,42 ppm. Mangrove temperature condition range between 28,87 – 30,950C, with pH rate 7,5 -8,0 and salinity range between 30 -33%o.

Abstract

Rice field ecosystem is artificial ecosystem. Insects as one of the rice field eccosystem components play a pivotal role in the food chain which is as herbivore, predator and  detrivore. This research aims to identify insects in the rice field at Laleten Vilagge. Also potential insects, and factors affecting the insects’ activities were investigated. The  research was conducted in Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara during March, 2017. The research method was Trap Method using net and lamp. Biological wealth equation was used to assess the potential insects. The results shows that insects in the rice field of Laleten were grouped in three based on their role as predator, herbivore and detrivore.  Insects found in the net trap were 8 species, 7 families, and 6 ordos.  Insects found in the lamp trap was 1 species, 1 family and 1 ordo. From all the insects, it was identified insect diversity values as followed; 54.26 for predators, 35.12 for herbivore and 30.79 for detrivore. The average of biodiversity value (R) was 120, 17.  Key word: Potential insect, rice field, Lateten Village

Abstract

The development in Wini Beach coastal area will have an impact on the destruction of the mangrove ecosystem which is a habitat for the life of the macrozoobenthic fauna. This study aims to determine the community structure of macrozoobenthos including abundance, diversity, evenness and dominance of the type of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove area. The study was carried out in the District of North Insana which included the mangrove area of Temkuna Beach (station I) and the mangrove area of Tanjung Bastian Beach (station II). Taking macrozoobenthos samples was carried out at low tide using the line transect method which was made perpendicular to the land in the mangrove forest area. The results of the study found 13 types of macrozoobenthos fauna spread over 2 stations namely the 8-type gastropod class, bivalvia class 4 types and 1 type crustacean class. Medium category (H ') = 2.41 index, Uniformity Index (E) = 0.938 classified as stable community and Dominance index (D) = 0.10 low category. Abstract

Field Ekosistem ponder to represent the part of coastal area ekosistem and sea which is located in clear and territorial water at deepness gyrate 1 - 12 metre. Ecologically field ponder to have important role to coastal territorial water coastal area region of Wini as detritus prosuden and hara, soft sediment penstabil and fastener, place go out to sea and also sea biota haven. This research, to know field community structure ponder variety, type dominansi and ponder in coastal territorial water of wini. This research represent research of observation by performing perception to know variety, type dominansi and ponder. Result of research indicate that there are 4 type ponder that is Enhalus acoroides, Ovalis Halophila, Syringodium Isoetifolium and Halodule uninervis with gyration variety index 1,01-192, index keseragaman of gyration 0,44-0,74 and gyration dominansi index 0,30-0,61. Abstract

Nipi fish (Hemiramphus far) was the important resources of foods  for peoples in TTU regency. The knowledge about data and information of reproductive biology of nipi fish was unknown and very limited. The objective of this research was to know reproductive biology of nipi fish and its implementation, and than it can be used as the source of learning, the first or primary data, and the important of information in study of fishing biology in resources the management sustainable. The research was conducted in Biology Laboratory of Timor University and it analyzed using statistic quantitative and descriptive covered length and weight distribution, sexual ratio, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index, and fecundity. The samples of nipi fish was taken by random sampling at lampara or drawing trawl in the oceanic waters of north beach of TTU regency. The result of this research showed that during 5 months from December 2015 until April 2016 the total samples were 144 fishes comprised 90 females and 54 males dominated by female fishes. The highest distributionof the length for male and female was 27-28 cm. The weight of female was 58-65 gr, male fishes was 50-57 gr. The sexual ratio between male and female was not balance or not significantly (not 1 : 1) with the ratio was 1 : 1,66 or 37,5 % : 62,5 %. TKG dominated by TKG III and IV in March – April that indicated have been entered the season  of climax spawner. The IKG of female fishes was heigher than the male with percentage above 19% was 19,99% ready to spawning. The everage of the fecundity was 300 eggs.

Abstract

Hutan mangrove Pantai Tanjung Bastian memiliki luas lebih kurang 37 ha. Jumlah tersebut mengalami penurunan dari tahun ke tahun (Anonimous, 2005). Hal ini disebabkan karena banyaknya pemanfaatan hutan mangrove untuk berbagai keperluan diantaranya areal pertambakan, keperluan pemenuhan kayu bakar dan bahan bangunan untuk kepentingan sendiri dan komersial, infrastruktur pantai termasuk pelabuhan, pembangunan tempat perdagangan dan perumahan, pengembangan pariwisata yaitu wisata alam serta pertanian. Berbagai aktivitas yang terjadi pada hutan mangrove Tanjung Bastian memberikan dampak kurang baik terhadap vegetasi, di antaranya terjadi perubahan komposisi dan struktur vegetasi pada berbagai tingkat pertumbuhan seperti anakan, pancang, tiang, dan pohon. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: 1) Pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk selayaknya menjaga populasi mangrove yang ada di pesisir pantai tanjung Bastian. 2) Menumbuhkan kesadaran dan motivasi bagi masyarakat pesisir untuk menanam kembali mangrove sebagai bentuk kepedulian terhadap lingkungan pesisir. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan dan pendampingan penanaman mangrove. Hasil kegiatan yang didapat bahwa setelah dilakukan penyuluhan tentang potensi dan bahaya kerusakan ekosistim mangrove, masyarakat merasa sangat antusias melakukan penanaman bersama. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah mulai ditanamnya manggrove khusunya pada areal tambak.

Abstract

Lontar (Borassus sundaicus,Beck) adalah jenis palma yang tumbuh di daerah kering. Di Indonesia, lontar banyak ditemukan di Nusa Tenggara Timur. Produk utama lontar adalah nira dari sadapan bunga, dapat diminum langsung atau diolah jadi gula. Nira yang dijadikan sumberdaya unggulan daerah ini perlu dikembangkan, sebab memberi nilai tambah terhadap pendapatan perkapita dan kesejahteraan.Pemanfaatan nira lontar sebagai gula merah cetak di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) masih dominan dilakukan oleh warga etnis Sabu dan Rote. Sedangkan masyarakat lokal, suku Dawan dominan memanfaatkan nira lontar untuk minuman beralkohol (sopi). Di Kabupaten TTU, Kota Kefamenanu Kelurahan Maubeli terdapat pohon lontar yang belum dimanfaatkan. Terutama yang memproduksi nira lontar menjadi gula merah cetak. Alat, bahan seadanya dengan proses pembuatan tanpa melalui tahapan penyaringan secara baik. Sehingga penampilan gula merahnya kurang menarik. Dampaknya harga pasaran gula di bawah harga pasaran gula merah dari daerah lain yang sudah olah secara higienis.Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pemanfaatan nira lontar sebagai gula merah cetak melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan serta perbaikan tahapan pengolahan secara higienis, dengan perlakuan media kemasan yang menarik untuk peningkatan harga dan pendapatan petani. Hasil gula merah cetak petani mulai diterima dipasaran toko maupun mini market di kota Kefamenanu. Dampak yang dirasakan petani yakni pendapatan meningkat.

Abstract

Peningkatan karbondioksida (CO2) di atmosfer merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya perubahan iklim dunia. Pengurangan emisi CO2 melalui berbagai vegetasi hutan sangat diperlukan. Keberadaan hutan mangrove di wilayah pesisir utara Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara dapat berperan dalam penurunan kandungan gas CO2. Ekosistem mangrove mampu menyerap rata-rata 8 ton CO2 / ha/ tahun. Nilai ini kurang lebih 2 kali hingga 4 kali lebih besar dari pada nilai pengamatan secara global terhadap hutan tropis yang lebat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui biomassa dan serapan karon pada tegakan mangrove pantai utara Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni - Agustus 2020. Penentuan lokasi penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling. Setiap lokasi ditempatkan plot – plot pengamatan. Penentuan jumlah plot mengikuti petunjuk Indriyanto (2006). Terdapat 7 plot yang tersebar pada 3 lokasi penelitian yakni pesisir pantai Wini, pesisir pantai Oepuah dan pesisir pantai Tuamese. Pada setiap plot dilakukan pengukuran diameter. Perhitungan biomassa menggunakan persamaan allometrik sesuai dengan persamaan allometrik dari masing – masing jenis yang ditemukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konribusi terbesar dalam penyerapan karbon pantai utara Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara adalah dari jenis Rhizophora sp yakni dari spesies Rhizophora apiculata. Rata - rata Biomassa tegakan mangrove pantai utara adalah sebesar 13,6 ton/ ha dengan cadangan karbon sebanyak 23,61 ton/ ha

Abstract

Kerupuk tulang ikan merupakan produk diversifikasi dari pemanfaatan limbah ikan sebagai bahan pembuatan kerupuk untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi masyarakat serta menunjukkan variasi hasil olahan produk perikanan agar dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah pada komoditas ikan tersebut. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah untuk menerapkan IPTEK bagi nelayan perikanan tangkap dalam mengolah limbah tulang ikan menjadi kerupuk. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini yakni penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Proses pembuatan kerupuk tulang ikan meliputi persiapan bahan baku, persiapan bahan tambahan, pembuatan bubur tulang ikan, pencampuran adonan, pencetakan, pemotongan, penjemuran, pengemasan dan pelabelan. Demi menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas dan aman untuk dikonsumsi, tim pengabdian menerapkan sanitasi dan hygiene pada bahan baku, air dan peralatan yang digunakan. Hasil yang di capai pada kegiatan ini adalah kelompok tani nelayan telah memahami tahapan pengolahan tulang ikan menjadi kerupuk dengan tingkat pemahaman kategori cukup baik

Abstract

This study aims to describe the composition and diversity of tree species in Lapeom Protection Forests. The study was conducted in November to December 2009 using the quadrat method by plotting along the transect line. The number of transect 5, transect length 200 m, in each transect placed 5 plot with size 20 m x 20 m. The results showed that in the location found 22 species of trees from 17 families. The largest number of species are Caesalpinaceae family of 4 species, was Casia fistula, L, Delonix regia, Rafin, Cassia simea, Lamk, and Tamarindus indica, L. The number of individuals largest is Mangifera indica, L from Anacardiaceae family of 20 individuals. The highest important value index on the species Mangifera indica (43.7%), the species with the lowest important value index was Zizipus jujuba (1.8%,) and Jatropa Sp (1.9%). Index Diversity of tree species in lapeom protected forest including moderate category with a value of 2.7 this showing that the area of Lapeom protected forest an area that has sufficient tree productivity levels, ecosystem conditions that are sufficiently balanced and have an ecological pressures medium. concluding was there are 22 species of tree from 17 families. The species with the highest number of individuals is Mangifera indica, L from Anacardiaceae family. The species that has the highest important value index is Mangifera indica (43.7%) and the species has the lowest important value index is Zizipus jujuba (1.8%), Index diversity of tree species in Lapeom protected forest including medium category.
