Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis vegetasi lantai hutan, struktur dan komposisi vegetasi lantai hutan serta faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan vegetasi lantai hutan di kawasan Hutan Produksi Nenuk. Pengambilan data dilakukan di Hutan Produksi Nenuk Desa Naekasa Kecamatan Tasifeto Barat Kabupaten Belu menggunakan plot yang diletakkan secara purposive sampling sebanyak 25 plot pengamatan dengan ukuran 2m x 2m. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan 18 jenis vegetasi lantai yang terdiri dari 13 famili, Vegetasi lantai hutan yang memiliki Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) tertinggi pada tingkat semai adalah Tectona grandis, L. dengan INP sebesar 94,74%, pada tingkat Herba adalah Ottochloa nodosa, Kunth. dengan INP sebesar 74,79%, Pada tingkat semak adalah Flemingia strobilfera, L. dengan INP sebesar 58,32%, Pada tingkat Perdu adalah Passiflora foetida, L. dengan INP sebesar 79,19%. Faktor lingkungan Suhu, Kelembaban dan pH dengan suhu rata-rata 31,7ºC, Kelembaban 68,8 % dan pH 6,8. Struktur dan Komposisi vegetasi lantai hutan Produksi Nenuk perlu terus dilestarikan untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem Hutan Produksi Nenuk dimasa mendatang.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the composition and diversity of tree species in Lapeom Protection Forests. The study was conducted in November to December 2009 using the quadrat method by plotting along the transect line. The number of transect 5, transect length 200 m, in each transect placed 5 plot with size 20 m x 20 m. The results showed that in the location found 22 species of trees from 17 families. The largest number of species are Caesalpinaceae family of 4 species, was Casia fistula, L, Delonix regia, Rafin, Cassia simea, Lamk, and Tamarindus indica, L. The number of individuals largest is Mangifera indica, L from Anacardiaceae family of 20 individuals. The highest important value index on the species Mangifera indica (43.7%), the species with the lowest important value index was Zizipus jujuba (1.8%,) and Jatropa Sp (1.9%). Index Diversity of tree species in lapeom protected forest including moderate category with a value of 2.7 this showing that the area of Lapeom protected forest an area that has sufficient tree productivity levels, ecosystem conditions that are sufficiently balanced and have an ecological pressures medium. concluding was there are 22 species of tree from 17 families. The species with the highest number of individuals is Mangifera indica, L from Anacardiaceae family. The species that has the highest important value index is Mangifera indica (43.7%) and the species has the lowest important value index is Zizipus jujuba (1.8%), Index diversity of tree species in Lapeom protected forest including medium category.

Abstract

Mangrove forest in North Central Timor Regency is dominated by Rhizophora sp. The highest number was found in Tuamese Village, namely Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronata. The biomass productivity in mangrove forests varies according to age, dominant species, and locality. It shows differences in carbon uptake and storage at the level, type, and place of growth. This study aimed to analyze the carbon content and carbon uptake of R. apiculata and R. mucronata at the stake level to the tree level in two plots with the size of 2,000 m2 each. The method used was allometric equations, while the power discrimination test used an independent sample t-test. The result showed that R. apiculata and R. mucronata had the same potential in producing biomass and necromass as well as in storing and absorbing carbon. The total biomass was 77.21 Mg/ha, which can absorb and store carbon, respectively, 141.68 Mg/ha and 36.61 Mg/ha. This research data provides an overview of the potential of biomass in meeting carbon trading standards as an effort to succeed in mangrove conservation in Tuamese Village. Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah guru dapat membuat artikel ilmiah dan mengetahui respon guru dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Sasaran PKM 15 guru Matematika dan IPA di Kefamenanu Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) yang sudah memiliki draft artikel, sedang menjalani penelitian, dan memiliki ide penelitian namun tidak mampu mengeksekusinya. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk mengakomodir kebutuhan guru agar didampingi menghasilkan karya tulis. Metode dalam PKM ini adalah pendampingan pelatihan. Guru-guru dibagi ke dalam masing-masing bidang studi dan dimentori oleh satu Dosen sesuai bidang studi. Materi pelaksanaan dibuat dalam dua pertemuan: pelatihan tatap muka dan pendampingan online. Hasil dari pelatihan adalah semua guru dapat merumuskan ide penelitian ke dalam template yang disediakan. Hasil dari pendampingan adalah semua guru sudah memiliki draft penelitian dan satu guru IPA sudah membentuk draft penelitian ke dalam artikel ilmiah dan siap di-submit ke jurnal online. Respon peserta berdasarkan kuesioner yang diberikan adalah untuk aspek pelaksanaan pelatihan: 71,5% peserta puas, aspek narasumber: 57,625% peserta puas serta aspek fasilitas/benefit yang didapat: 67% peserta sangat puas. Hasil menunjukan peserta memiliki motivasi positif terhadap kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan ini terutama terhadap proses dan manfaat yang didapat selama kegiatan sehingga kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi suatu kegiatan yang regular dilakukan.

Abstract

Dengue fever is an infectious disease caused by a virus transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti L. One of the DBD vector eradication programs involves using synthetic insecticides. The use of synthetics (chemicals) is known to be very effective, relatively easy, and practical, but it has a negative impact on the environment. One is using natural insecticides; in this way, it is expected to inhibit the life cycle of mosquitoes before they develop to adulthood. The natural insecticide used is a plant insecticide from the green leaf plant (Pipper betle L) and the leaf of the papaya (Carica papaya L), because both plants have a secondary metabolite compound that can inhibit the growth of the larvae of the mosquito Aedes aegypti L. The method in this study is a simple experimental design with a complete random effect (RAL) to see the effectiveness of extracts of green coriander leaves and papaya leaves. With each extract being tested for its effectiveness, three treatments and one control were performed. The research using the extraction method, i.e., the mazeration method of observing larval death, was conducted for 1 hour of observation to determine the effectiveness of treatment extracts tested using Anova level 5% and probit analysis to determine LC50 values. The average mortality of mosquito larvae (Aedes aegypti L) after treatment with ethanol extract of green syrup leaves at a concentration of 60% at 100%, at a concentration of 40% at 87%, and at a concentration of 20% at 47%.

Abstract

Indonesia as a mega biodiversity country has a variety of fauna and flora. One of the floras that is often found in Indonesia is orchids. Orchids have high economic value and are able to balance the ecosystem in their habitat. This study was aimed at determining the diversity of orchid species in the Oeluan tourism forest. The current study employed a quantitative descriptive study by using the transect and the purposive sampling method. The research was conducted in February at the Oeluan Tourism Forest. The results of this study indicated that there were four terrestrial orchid genera and three epiphytic orchid genera. The analysis of the diversity index of orchid species in the Oeluan tourism forest resulted in the diversity index of (H’) 1.0438 in the medium category. The measured environmental factors at the study site were an average soil pH of 7, an average humidity of 76.33% and an average air temperature of 27.400C. The diversity of orchid species in the Oeluan tourism forest, bijeli village, Noemuti district, North Central Timor regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, was included in the medium category.

Abstract

Desa Usapinonot merupakan salah satu Desa di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) , Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Desa ini memiliki potensi yang dapat dikembangkan melalui wirausaha dalam produksi jamu dari tanaman rimpang (jahe, kunyit, temulawak) karena tanaman ini dengan sangat mudah tumbuh di wilayah ini. Untuk mendukung budidaya tersebut maka diperlukan pembinaan dalam pengolahan lahan dan peningkatan pengetahuan kepada Kelompok Tani Nek Mese yang merupakan kelompok budidaya dan peternak sapi  dalam mengembangkan tanaman rimpangt sehingga menghasil rimpang yang berkualitas serta pemanfaatan limbah kotoran ternak sapi. Pihak Universitas Timor melalui kegiatan Pemberdayaan Desa Binaan (PDB) pada tahap awal telah melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos biochar. Pupuk kompos biochar berbasis kotoran sapi yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal ditambah dengan hijauan dan sekam bakar. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 50 peserta yang terdiri dari kelompok tani Nek Mese dan kelompok lain yang ada di Desa Usapinonot dan juga perangkat desa. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan limbah kotoran ternak sapi menjadi pupuk organik yang berkualitas yang dapat menunjang dalam kegiatan budidaya yang dilakukan

Abstract

Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L.) is a fruit vegetable plant with numerous health benefits and the ability to treat various diseases. This study aims to determine the effects of growing media and liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of bitter melon plants. The research was conducted on Jl. Basuki Rahmat, Kefamenanu Tengah Subdistrict, TTU Regency, from November to January 2021. The experimental method used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of growing media and liquid organic fertilizer. The growing media included three treatments: 2 kg cow manure: 1 kg soil (A1), 2 kg rice husk: 1 kg soil (B2), and 2 kg goat manure: 1 kg soil (C3). The liquid organic fertilizer was applied at a rate of 5 ml/L for all treatments and replications. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with the SPSS 22.0 application. The results showed that the growing media and liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, number of productive branches, number of fruits, fruit length, and fruit diameter.

Abstract

The reduction in mangrove areas, which has caused significant erosion along the north coast of North Central Timor Regency, has implied the need for in-depth studies. This research, aimed to determine the spatial distribution of coastal vulnerability and its influencing factors using the Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI). The research found that 7.07 km (48.71%) of the coastline was classified as low vulnerability, while 6.66 km (51.28%) was categorized as moderate. Key factors influencing coastal vulnerability include geomorphology (87.18%), coastline changes (7.6%), beach slope (66.6%), and beach elevation (66.7%), based on observations across 39 cells. Meanwhile, tidal variables, wave height, and sea-level rise had minimal impact, with their associated vulnerability levels categorized as low. Future research should incorporate additional variables, such as socio-economic aspects and human activities to provide a more comprehensive assessment of coastal vulnerability. This would result in a more holistic assessment for decision-making for coastal area mitigation planning.

Abstract

Penggunaan kayu bakar yang berlebihan berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan. Hasil sisa pembakaran berupa arang belum dimanfaatkan secara baik menjadi briket. Briket dapat menjadi pilihan bahan bakar produksi garam. Garam hasil produksi Kelompok Tani Masmolo adalah garam organik yang putih bersih namun belum mendapat sentuhan kemasan yang menarik. Hal ini diakibatkan oleh minimnya pemahaman terhadap pengelolaan paska produksi secara baik. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan upaya pelatihan dan praktek langsung pembuatan briket serta pelatihan desain dan pembuatan kemasan. Tujuan dilakukan kegiatan PKM yakni untuk mengedukasi petani mengenai pemanfaatan arang sebagai bahan baku pembuatan briket serta melatih keterampilan petani mendesain dan membuat kemasan secara baik dan menarik. Ukuran keberhasilan kegiatan dilakukan melalui uji pemahaman melalui sebaran kuisioner bagi setiap anggota tani dengan cara pemberian score pada setiap pertanyaan dari tahapan kegiatan yang diberikan. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan diketahui secara umum petani memahami semua tahapan kegiatan yang diberikan Tim PKM. Hasil penerapan menunjukkan bahwa keunggulan menggunakan briket yakni produksi garam lebih cepat dimana 500 keping briket yang digunakan mampu memproduksi garam sebanyak 4 kali.
