Abstract

Purple sweet potato is one type of tuber that is rich in carbohydrates in the form of starch and fiber. It also contains purple anthocyanin pigments. In this research, purple sweet potato was processed into flour and starch. Starch processing solid waste can be utilized by processing it into fiber flour. Purple sweet potato flour and fiber were then used as the basis for making biscuits at a ratio of 75: 25 and compared to biscuits made from 100% purple sweet potato flour and wheat flour. The resulting biscuits were then analyzed for their chemical characteristics. The results showed that the ratio of flour gave a very significantly different effect on the value of water content, total dietary fiber content, insoluble dietary fiber content and % nutritional adequacy rate of food fiber, and had no significant effect on the value of ash content, protein content, fat content, content carbohydrates, total flavonoids, insoluble dietary fiber content, calorie intake and fulfillment of daily energy adequacy.

Abstract

Crack gas flowing from furnace to gasoline fraction tower through BA-106 pipeline. The pipeline has not been inspected for 30 years of operation and it is suspected that there is pipe scale in it. The scaling reduces the inner diameter of the pipe which disrupt the pipeline flow rate that might cause a fatal accident. The scale particles also became impurities in the subsequent process. The information on scale conditions inside the pipeline is needed to determine further action to ensure safety and maintain the productivity of the plant. The gamma scanning technique was conducted at 18 points to diagnose the scaling profile inside the pipe. A collimated 2.96 GBq 137Cs radiation source emits a pencil beam of gamma photons to penetrate the pipe. A NaI(Tl) scintillation detector was placed opposite the gamma source to detect the photons. They were moving in parallel vertically and horizontally for every 10 mm step to get the attenuation profile of the pipe. Furthermore, a tomography scan was performed at selected points with 32 projections data. So far previous experiments were performed in the laboratory and the objects were smaller (less than 500 mm), however, the current experiment was performed in real industrial plants and the object diameter was about 1500 mm. The reconstructed image has been successful in showing the cross-sectional of the pipe that consists of scale inside it. The image was analyzed to get the percentage of the remaining fluid area due to scaling. The remaining fluid area was 56.15% of normal pipe without scale. It was proved that the gamma tomography technique is suitable for pipe scale measurement to get the cross-section visualization of the pipe.

Abstract

This research was conducted against the background of road improvements on the road section in Ambeng-Ambeng Watangrejo village, Duduksampeyan, Gresik Regency along ± 1.5 km which caused traffic jams due to narrowing of road capacity. Vehicle travel time is very influential on the level of fuel consumption, because the longer the travel time experienced by a vehicle, the more fuel consumption will be. The length of congestion will affect the temperature of the vehicle engine which will get hotter which will eventually affect fuel consumption which will be more wasteful and this will result in a considerable material loss value. This study used quantitative research methods and direct surveys. The primary data used in this study included vehicle travel time and vehicle volume. The types of vehicles analyzed are several types of cars fueled by pertalite. Then the data is processed using references from the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2014) and LAPI-ITB. The results showed that the loss of private cars (KR) fueled by the pertalite type was quite large, namely on Monday, the total loss during the 6 hours of research amounted to Rp.13.575.702 with an average hourly loss of Rp.2.262.617. As for Tuesday, the total loss during the 6 hours of research amounted to Rp.15.942.725 with an average hourly loss of Rp.2.657.121. And for Wednesday, the total loss during the 6 hours of research amounted to Rp.12.182.256 with an average hourly loss of Rp.2.030.376

Abstract

Along the duduksampeyan highway there is road construction (rigid pavement) so that the road section has narrowed, which originally had 4 two-way lanes reduced to 2 two-way lanes along 1.5 km so that traffic became paralyzed and caused long queues of vehicles. This results in a significant delay that can harm transportation users who cross the road. The purpose of this study was to determine the length of queues and travel delay times. Then the data that has been obtained from the field is then analyzed based on technical aspects based on the Indonesian road capacity guidelines in 2014 (PKJI, 2014). From the analysis of the queue length above, the longest queue with a length of 2481.3 meters from the direction of Lamongan - Surabaya and the shortest queue with a length of 1187.1 meters in the direction of Lamongan - Surabaya. The results of the delay time analysis found that the highest delay time occurred on Monday at 07:00 – 08:00 with a delay time of 26,26 minutes from the direction of Lamongan - Surabaya and on Wednesday at 08:00 – 09:00 was the lowest delay time with a delay time of 0,1 minutes from the direction of Lamongan - Surabaya.

Abstract

Linking governmentality practices to community empowerment programs in rural areas is based on the Indonesian government's claim that the success of development in villages is due to the involvement of the central government in directing development planning in villages through the various technical regulations they issue. Village governments are only given space for elaboration and accommodation of regulations made by the central government based on local values, local potential, needs and interests of village communities. The existence of this space for elaboration and accommodation makes the practice of governmentality applicable in rural areas, namely giving freedom and authority to villages but at the same time directing them with various possible choices that are actually desired by the state. This article finds the operation of governmentality practices in the discourse of increasing economic welfare rationalized by the Pematang Johar Village Government for the community through the development of rice field tourism objects in their village. This discourse is able to change the village community's perception of the goals of village development, which until now have only been understood in terms of infrastructure development. Through this discourse, the village government is able to form empowered people; namely village people who are continuously trained in skills, corrected and disciplined. The self-adaptation that they carry out is of course aimed at increasing their capacity and quality from the status of the tasks they carry out daily in the rice field tourism which leads them to become economically prosperous.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out the pattern of intercultural communication that occurs in a prime one school environment; the social and cultural values in enhancing harmonious relations within the PrimeOne School Medan employees and the factors that support and hinder employees in communicating at school. This research was conducted at the private school PrimeOne School in Medan. The research informants were determined by purposive sampling and Snowball Sampling based on certain criteria. This type of research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. Primary data were obtained through direct observation and in-depth interviews with informants. Meanwhile, secondary data obtained from data collection through documents in the form of books, journals, the internet, and photos related to the research topic. The data collected was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman Interactive Analysis Model. The results of this study indicate that initially cultural differences, especially language, became a challenge both for foreign students and local students in communicating so that cross-cultural communication patterns that occur between foreign employees and local employees as well as interactions with students in communicating at school are very tortuous and experience difficulty. But over time, the interaction of the two gradually improved. In addition, social needs as humans to interact and communicate become supporting factors that encourage both to always be involved in conversation.
