Abstract

Students of SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo City were the primary participants in this community engagement initiative aimed at fostering national defense awareness among young learners. Instilling Pancasila values and national defense consciousness is fundamental in shaping the character of Indonesia's younger generation. As the ideological foundation of the nation, Pancasila plays a crucial role in youth character development. However, amid globalization and the digital revolution, there has been a decline in the understanding of Pancasila values due to the infiltration of foreign cultures. This phenomenon has weakened nationalism and national defense awareness among students, including those at SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo City. The community engagement activities, conducted in the school hall, followed these stages: (1) Coordination with SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo City, beginning with a formal request letter addressed to the school principal; (2) Preliminary survey through questionnaires and interviews to assess students' knowledge of Pancasila and national defense. As the speaker, I conducted socialization sessions for the students with the following objectives: (1) Introducing and implementing the Pancasila Literacy Movement as a concrete step to cultivate national defense awareness; (2) Establishing the Pancasila Literacy Movement as an effective educational tool for fostering national defense consciousness; (3) Creating a learning community with a comprehensive understanding of national defense, reflected in attitudes of tolerance, unity, and a willingness to contribute to national progress. The results showed that students began to recognize that national defense extends beyond military efforts—it also encompasses patriotism, respect for diversity, and active contributions to national development through the application of Pancasila values.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a state governed by law, upholds the supremacy of law, equality before the law, and fair law enforcement as its fundamental pillars. However, legal awareness among teenagers, particularly high school students, remains relatively low, as evidenced by the prevalence of bullying, sexual harassment, and traffic violations. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ legal awareness through a collaborative program involving lecturers and undergraduate students of the Civic Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo and attended by 30 eleventh-grade students. The method employed was a participatory approach, which included interactive legal socialization, group discussions, case simulations, and reflection activities, with evaluation carried out through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed a significant increase in legal understanding, a decline in deviant behavioral tendencies, and improved student participation in legal issue discussions. The integration of experiential learning with the active involvement of students as equal facilitators created a more egalitarian and contextual legal learning atmosphere for high school students. Experience-based legal education proved effective in instilling legal awareness at the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor levels. Therefore, fostering legal awareness from an early age through participatory methods can serve as a foundation for shaping law-abiding and integrity-driven youth, while also contributing to the realization of a just and orderly society. The continuity of such programs is highly recommended to ensure the consistent internalization of legal values.ABSTRAKIndonesia sebagai negara hukum menempatkan supremasi hukum, kesetaraan di hadapan hukum, dan penegakan hukum yang adil sebagai pilar utamanya. Namun, kesadaran hukum di kalangan remaja, khususnya siswa SMA, masih tergolong rendah, sebagaimana terlihat dari tingginya kasus bullying, pelecehan seksual, hingga pelanggaran lalu lintas. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran hukum siswa melalui program kolaboratif dosen dan mahasiswa Prodi S1 PPKn Universitas Negeri Gorontalo yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo dan diikuti oleh 30 siswa kelas XI. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif, meliputi sosialisasi interaktif, diskusi kelompok, simulasi kasus, dan refleksi, dengan evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman hukum, penurunan kecenderungan terhadap perilaku menyimpang, serta meningkatnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam diskusi terkait isu-isu hukum. Integrasi pendekatan experiential learning dengan keterlibatan aktif mahasiswa sebagai fasilitator sejajar, yang menciptakan suasana pembelajaran hukum yang lebih egaliter dan kontekstual bagi siswa. Pendidikan hukum berbasis pengalaman langsung terbukti efektif dalam menanamkan kesadaran hukum secara kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Dengan demikian, pembinaan kesadaran hukum sejak dini melalui pendekatan partisipatif dapat menjadi fondasi membentuk generasi muda yang taat hukum dan berintegritas, sekaligus mendukung terwujudnya masyarakat yang adil dan tertib. Keberlanjutan program serupa sangat dianjurkan guna memastikan internalisasi nilai-nilai hukum secara konsisten.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the governance of the Pasar Sentral in Kota Selatan Subdistrict, Gorontalo City, after its revitalization. The background of this research stems from the market's previous condition, which was rundown and disorganized, prompting the Gorontalo City Government to carry out a revitalization project. However, despite the revitalization efforts, issues such as low visitor numbers, limited access to clean water, as well as drainage and sanitation problems, remain major concerns. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with representatives from the Department of Industry and Trade, market vendors, and the community, as well as documentation. The findings indicate that market governance includes planning, implementation, and supervision in accordance with Henry Fayol's management theory. Nevertheless, challenges persist in the implementation, particularly regarding facility management, the retribution system, and the involvement of vendors in decision-making processes. In conclusion, the revitalization has not fully resolved the market's underlying problems. Strengthened coordination between the government and market stakeholders, along with improvements to supporting infrastructure, are needed to transform the market into a more attractive shopping center for the community.

Abstract

Radikalisme masih sangat urgen dibicarakan dibelahan dunia manapun. Karena ancaman paham radikalisme dapat membuat warga dunia Internasional merasa takut akan akibat yang ditimbulkan oleh gerakan radikalisme. Beberapa kekhawatiran dunia saat ini terhadap gerakan radikalisme adalah gerakan Terorisme, ISIS (IslamicStaats Irak Surya) termasuk ideologi komunisme. Hal ini terlihat negara Super Power USA Amerika Serikat mengecam dengan keras aksi-aksi yang dilakukan sekelompok orang yang mengatas namakan Teroris dan ISIS ketika aksi dilakukan dibelahan dunia manapun. Puluhan ribu jiwa korban akibat dari gerakan teroris dan ISIS yang terjadi saat ini. Hal ini mengundang keprihatinan masyarakat Internasional untuk mencegah masuknya aliran radikalisme masuk ke negara mereka. Berdasarkan permasalahan diatas, peneliti ingin mengetahui keberadaan paham radikalisme apakah sudah mengkontaminasi minset generasi muda yang ada di Provinsi Gorontalo melalui riset tentang Fenomena Radikalisme dikalangan Generasi Mudah dan Implikasinya Terhadap Ketahanan Wilayah di Provinsi Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil riset menunjukan pengetahuan generasi muda di daerah Gorontalo masih ada yang belum mengetahui tujuan dari paham radikalisme yang dapat mengancam Negara kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Rekomendasi kepada Pemerintah Daerah, harus berupaya melakukan tindakan preventif dalam mencegah masuknya paham radikalisme di daerah Provinsi Gorontalo khususnya bagi kalangan generasi muda.

Abstract

Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) merupakan salah satu program pemerintah yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi kemiskinan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pemberian bantuan sosial bersyarat kepada keluarga miskin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan kebijakan PKH di Kelurahan Huangobotu, Kecamatan Dungingi, Kota Gorontalo. Fokus utama evaluasi meliputi aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan dampak program terhadap penerima manfaat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan penelitian terdiri dari aparat kelurahan, petugas PKH, serta keluarga penerima manfaat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kebijakan PKH di Kelurahan Huangobotu telah berjalan cukup efektif dengan dukungan dari berbagai pihak. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan PKH di Kelurahan Huangobotu telah memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga penerima, terutama dalam bidang pendidikan dan kesehatan anak. penelitian ini mencakup peningkatan sosialisasi dan pengawasan serta pemberian pelatihan kepada petugas lapangan agar program dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the recruitment process of village officials in Tulo’a Village, Bulango Utara District, Bone Bolango Regency, and to identify the role and actions of the village head in the process, especially regarding indications of nepotism. The background of the study is based on the importance of transparency and professionalism in the appointment of village officials to achieve good village governance and quality public services. The main issue raised is the alleged nepotism, where most village officials are related to the village head, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the recruitment process. The results show that the recruitment process of village officials in Tulo’a Village does not involve nepotism practices. However, the challenge lies in the low quality of the local human resources. Many village residents do not meet the minimum education level as required by regulations. This results in a limited number of eligible applicants. Supporting factors in the recruitment process include the existence of clear regulations and the need for competent village officials, while the main inhibiting factors are the culture of patronage, lack of supervision, and minimal community involvement in the selection process.  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses rekrutmen perangkat desa di Desa Tulo’a, Kecamatan Bulango Utara, Kabupaten Bone Bolango, serta mengidentifikasi peran dan tindakan kepala desa dalam proses tersebut, khususnya terkait indikasi nepotisme kekuasaan. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada pentingnya transparansi dan profesionalisme dalam pengangkatan perangkat desa untuk mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan desa yang baik dan pelayanan publik yang berkualitas. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah adanya dugaan nepotisme, di mana sebagian besar perangkat desa merupakan kerabat kepala desa, serta faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pelaksanaan rekrutmen perangkat desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses rekrutmen perangkat desa di Desa Tulo’a tidak adanya praktir nepotisme namun,dalam rekrutmen perangkat desa rendahnya kualitas sumber daya manusia lokal. Banyak warga desa yang belum memiliki tingkat pendidikan minimal sesuai ketentuan yang ditetapkan oleh peraturan perundang-undangan. Ini menyebabkan keterbatasan jumlah pelamar yang layak.Faktor pendukung dalam pelaksanaan rekrutmen meliputi adanya regulasi yang jelas dan kebutuhan akan perangkat desa yang kompeten, sedangkan faktor penghambat utamanya adalah budaya patronase, kurangnya pengawasan, serta minimnya keterlibatan masyarakat dalam proses seleksi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the village government in empowering corn farmers in Popayato Village, Pohuwato Regency. The village government, as the institution closest to the community, has a strategic responsibility in facilitating the development of local potential, particularly the corn farming sector, a leading regional commodity. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the village government plays an active role as a facilitator, initiator, motivator, and mediator in various empowerment programs, such as agricultural extension, production input assistance, and strengthening farmer group institutions. However, obstacles remain, such as budget constraints, lack of cross-sector synergy, and minimal regeneration of young farmers. Therefore, ongoing commitment and inter-institutional cooperation are needed to realize sustainable farmer empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Pancasila Education teachers in developing a culture of politeness in class VII-1 students at SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan and to identify inhibiting factors in the process. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that teachers have a central role as educators, mentors, and motivators in shaping students' character, especially related to polite behavior. However, this process still faces challenges, such as low student awareness, the negative influence of social media, and minimal support from the family environment. In conclusion, the role of teachers is very crucial in internalizing Pancasila values ​​in students' lives, and more innovative and collaborative strategies are needed with schools and parents to overcome existing obstacles.

Abstract

This community service program aims to build multicultural awareness among students of SMK Negeri 5 Gorontalo through participatory and contextual learning activities. The program was carried out by involving lecturers, students, and teachers through several stages, including material delivery, group discussions, case studies, role-playing, creative workshops, and reflection sessions. This approach was designed to ensure that students not only understand the concept of multiculturalism theoretically but are also able to internalize the values of tolerance, cooperation, and mutual respect in their daily school life. Data were collected through field observations and questionnaires distributed to 104 students in the initial stage and 31 students during the final evaluation stage. The analysis results show an average increase of 30–35% across all indicators of multicultural awareness, particularly in aspects of cross-cultural interaction (P3), understanding of cooperation as a multicultural value (P7), and acceptance of linguistic diversity (P9). These improvements indicate that the program successfully transformed students’ mindsets from passive acceptance to reflective understanding and inclusive attitudes toward diversity. Thus, multicultural education has proven to be an effective means of shaping students’ character to become tolerant, adaptive, and capable of living harmoniously within a pluralistic society.

Abstract

At State Senior High School 3 North Gorontalo, Atinggola District, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, the tendency is for students to forget the culture of their own nation. The culture of playing online games requires a more teacher role for these students. Based on the problems above, the researchers conducted outreach to students at State High School 3 Gorontalo Utara, Atinggola District, North Gorontalo Regency with the aim of (1) Instilling the values of national character to students at State High School 3 North Gorontalo , Atinggola District, North Gorontalo Regency (2) Fostering a spirit of discipline in all students so that they come to school more disciplined (3) getting used to good things in each student. The problem that occurs among students is the inability of students to stem the influence of online games which results in reduced student motivation and enthusiasm for learning. After carrying out the Mentoring and Socialization activities for students, we plan to do a mapping to find out how successful the teacher is in guiding his students.
