Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas fisik ayam broiler (bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas dan pH daging) dan mutu hedonik (warna dan aroma daging) di Kecamatan Telaga Biru, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, dengan melakukan kunjungan langsung dan mengamati peternakan ayam broiler serta melakukan wawancara dan pengukuran kualitas fisik ayam. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, selanjutnya untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan kualitas fisik, dan mutu hedonik di tiap lokasi digunakan uji Kruskal Wallis dan uji lanjut Mann Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas fisik ayam broiler di Kecamatan Telaga Biru Kabupaten Gorontalo memiliki nilai pH normal yaitu 5,72±0,46–6,15±0,50, dengan rata-rata bobot potong 2,03±0,10–2,18±0,25 Kg, bobot karkas 1,54±0,18 kg–1,61±0,20 Kg dan persentase karkas sebesar 73,24±8,51%–75,32±6,20%. Rata-rata mutu hedonik warna daging ayam broiler di Kecamatan Telaga Biru Kabupaten Gorontalo berkisar dari putih pucat dan merah pucat dan untuk mutu hedonik aroma daging sama untuk seluruh lokasi yaitu berbau amis.Kata Kunci: Kualitas Fisik, Persentase Karkas, Broiler, Mutu Hedonik

Abstract

ABSTRAKInseminasi Buatan (IB) merupakan salah satu teknologi dalam budidaya ternak untuk peningkatan populasi dan mutu genetik ternak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mentranformasikan pengetahuan tentang teknologi inseminasi buatan serta memberikan pemahaman yang benar tentang cara pendeteksian birahi pada ternak. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini terlihat bahwa masyarakat di desa Bulila sangat antusias dalam menerima materi yang diberikan sehingga pengetahuan serta pemahaman tentang inseminasi buatan pada ternak meningkat. Dari hasil kegiatan penyuluhan ini dapat menjadi salah satu langkah untuk memperbaiki permasalahan-permasalahan yang ada pada peternak yang berkaitan dengan teknologi inseminasi buatan sehingga produktivitas ternak dapat meningkat. Kata kunci: inseminasi buatan; teknologi; ternak, produktivitas. ABSTRACTArtificial Insemination (IB) is one of the technologies in livestock cultivation to increase livestock's population and genetic quality. This program aims to share knowledge about artificial insemination technology and give appropriate information on how to detect lust in livestock. This program used socialisation and discussion methods. The result of this program showed that the society at Desa Bulila are more enthusiastic in receiving the material that had been delivered, so their knowledge in artificial insemination in livestock increased. The outcome of this program could be one of the steps to correct some problems that exist in breeders related to artificial insemination technology, then the productivity in livestock can be increased. keywords: artificial insemination; technology; livestock; productivity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the quality of frozen semen of Bali cattle at different thawing times at the Department of Agriculture of the Province of Gorontalo. The observed variables were motility, viability and abnormalities of spermatozoa which were thawed at 30°C for 8, 10 and 12 seconds. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA If there are differences of opinion, proceed with testing the Least Significant Difference with the help of SPSS 21 Software. The results showed that a thawing time of 10 resulted in better motility and viability and a lower level of abnormality at 30°C. The thawing time of 10 at a temperature of 30°C can still be used for the purpose of implementing AI in the field because the quality of frozen cement produced by Bali cattle can still be maintained.

Abstract

Increasing the production of sweet corn plants to meet the food needs of the community faces quite big challenges, especially in terms of providing environmentally friendly fertilizer. This activity aims to provide training in making liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine for sweet corn fertilizer needs. The location for the activity is in Wonggahu Village, Paguyaman District, which has the potential for cultivating sweet corn because it has the carrying capacity of land and cattle farm waste as raw material for organic fertilizer. The method for making organic fertilizer uses the fermentation method using cattle urine as the raw material. Making liquid organic fertilizer is done by mixing all the ingredients evenly and putting them in a container. Ripening takes place in 7 days. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that making liquid organic fertilizer in Wonggahu village can be an alternative fertilizer provider for farmers.

Abstract

Community Service (PPM) aims to increase the knowledge and skills of residents in Paguyaman and Wonosari Districts regarding selection and mating methods for beef cattle. This PPM activity was carried out on 15 and 16 September 2023 in Paguyaman District, Boalemo Regency, precisely at the Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah (UPTD) Pengembangan Ternak Dinas Pertanian Provinsi Gorontalo. Participants in the activity are beef cattle breeders who work as cattle breeders from the Paguyaman and Wonosari Districts. This PPM activity consists of 3 stages, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The activity method carried out at the implementation stage is counseling by means of lectures and discussions with participants. The results obtained after all stages of activities were carried out show that training on selection and mating methods for beef cattle development for cattle breeders in Paguyaman and Wonosari Districts has been carried out well and as expected. The response of breeders during the training activities was quite good, as indicated by the presence of all invited participants, the creation of discussions and exchange of experiences between fellow participants, and the submission of questions by training activity participants during discussion sessions. This training activity will be maximized if recording beef cattle production from breeders is available so that methods and selection that suit the breeders' real conditions can be carried out.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas semen beku sapi bali post thawing dengan jarak dan waktu yang berbeda di Dinas Pertanian Provinsi Gorontalo. Peubah yang diamati motilitas, viabilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Penelitian ini menggunakan semen beku sapi bali di Dinas Pertanian Provinsi Gorontalo yang distribusinya berasal dari BBIB Singosari. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dua arah dengan bantuan software SPSS 21. Hasil rerata persentase motilitas spermatozoa tertinggi terdapat pada jarak 10 cm selama 15 detik, rerata persentase viabilitas spermatozoa tertinggi terdapat pada jarak 15 cm selama 20 detik, rerata persentase abnormalitas spermatozoa tertinggi terdapat pada jarak 20 cm selama 20 detik post thawing. Jarak dan waktu pemindahan sraw dari permukaan nitrogen cair tidak mempengaruhi kualitas semen beku baik motilitas, viabilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa) sapi bali post thawing namun layak digunakan untuk IB dilapangan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the combination of red fruit extract (pandanus conoideus lam) and green coconut water on the quality of Balinese cattle semen during cold storage. This research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology. The method used was experimental laboratory. Semen used came from 2 Balinese cows aged 2-3 years collected 1 week 2 times. The research design used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 4 conditions and 10 repetitions consisting of P0 (control) = CEP-2 + 10% egg yolk, P1 = diluent of red fruit extract + coconut water + 10% egg yolk. P2 = red fruit extract diluent + coconut water + egg yolk 10% + fructose 1 mg/ml. P3 = red fruit extract diluent + coconut water + egg yolk 10% + fructose 2 mg/ml. The data generated will be analyzed using Analysis of Variance. The results showed that the best motility and viability in P0 (42.41 ± 1.72%) and (40.10 ± 1.12%) and low abnormality <10% which lasted until the 8th day of storage, then followed by P2 (43.19 ± 1.34%) and (47.22 ± 1.12%) and abnormality below <14%. After that followed by P1 (42.26 ± 1.40%) and (45.28 ± 1.19) and P3 (42.16 ± 1.37%) and (43.44 ± 1.17%) each P1 and P3 had abnormalities below <14%. In conclusion, the three diluents P1, P2 and P3 were able to maintain motility, viability and abnormality until the 5th day after storage so that the use of a combination of red fruit extract and coconut water in liquid semen can be used for the implementation of IB in the field.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui suplementasi level glutathione pada pengencer semen cair dalam mempertahankan kualitas semen sapi peranakan ongole (PO) selama simpan dingin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lapang Program Studi Peternakan Fakultas Sains dan Ilmu Komputer. Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental laboratory. Semen yang digunakan berasal dari 2 ekor sapi PO umur 2-3 tahun ditampung 1 minggu 2 kali. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 Perkuan dan 10 ulang yang terdiri P0 (kontrol) = pengencer ekstrak buah merah + kuning telur 15%. P1 = pengencer ekstrak buah merah + kuning telur 15% + Glutathione 0,75 mM. P2 = pengencer ekstrak buah merah + kuning telur 15%+ Glutathione 1 mM. P3 = pengencer ekstrak buah merah + kuning telur 15% + Glutathione 1,25 mM. Data yang dihasilkan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan Analisis Ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengencer EBM+ KT 15%+Gthn 0,75 mM memiliki kualitas lebih tinggi dengan lama simpan mencapai 6 hari dengan motilitas individu 44,21 ± 1.19% dan viabilitas 40,61± 1.11% dengan abnormalitas <20% setelah penyimpanan. Suplementasi level glutathione 0,75 mM pada pengencer semen cair EBM+KT 15% merupakan dosis yang optimal dalam menghasilkan motilitas, viabilitas dan abnormalitas yang baik, serta dapat digunakan dalam aplikasi IB dilapangan.

Abstract

The research aims to assess the effectiveness of ginger (Zingiber officinale) supplementation in drinking water on improving broiler carcass quality. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatments consisted of: P0= No ginger in drinking water, P1= 1 gram of ginger flour in 1000 ml of drinking water, P2 = 2 grams of ginger flour in 1000 ml of drinking water, P3= 3 grams of ginger flour in 1000 ml of drinking water. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the provision of ginger flour in drinking water of broilers gave a significant effect (P <0.05) on the percentage of carcasses, gave a very significant effect (P <0.01) on abdominal fat and had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the components of broiler carcasses. P3 treatment is the best treatment which gives the highest carcass percentage and the lowest abdominal fat.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas suplementasi jahe (Zingiber officinale) dalam air minum terhadap peningkatan kualitas karkas ayam pedaging.  Penelitian ini  menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut terdiri dari  Adapun perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah : P0=Tanpa pemberian jahe dalam air minum, P1=1 gram  tepung jahe dalam 1000 ml air minum, P2=2 gram  tepung jahe dalam 1000 ml air minum, P3= 3 gram  tepung jahe dalam 1000 ml air minum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian tepung jahe dalam air minum ayam pedaging memeberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap persentase karkas, memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap lemak abdominal dan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap komponen karkas ayam pedaging. Perlakuan P3 merupakan perlakuan yang terbaik dimana memberikan persentase karkas tertinggi dan lemak abdominal yang terendah.

Abstract

Quail is one of the poultry that grows relatively fast and the maintenance process does not require a long time. Optimal growth is determined by genetic and environmental factors because it can affect the overall appearance and productivity of an animal. Ginger is one of the medicinal plants that can increase the endurance of livestock, so that it can increase productivity and quality of livestock products. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ginger flour added to the ration on the growth of quail. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely: R0= without adding ginger flour in the ration; R1 = 100% Ration added with 0.5% Ginger flour; R2= 100% Ration added with 1% Ginger flour; R3= 100% Ration added with 1.5% Ginger flour. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the addition of ginger flour in the ration had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on ration consumption, body weight gain and quail ration conversion during the study. The R3 treatment (1.5% addition of ginger flour) was the best treatment for body weight gain and quail ration conversion.Burung puyuh merupakan salah satu ternak unggas yang pertumbuhannya relatif cepat dan proses pemeliharaannya tidak membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Pertumbuhan yang optimal, ditentukan oleh faktor genetik dan lingkungan karena dapat mempengaruhi seluruh penampilan dan produktivitas seekor ternak. Jahe merupakan salah satu tanaman obat-obatan yang dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh ternak, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas hasil ternak. Tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tepung jahe yang ditambahkan dalam ransum terhadap pertumbuhan burung puyuh. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan 5 ulangan yaitu : R0= tanpa ditambahkan tepung jahe dalam ransum ; R1= 100% Ransum ditambahkan dengan 0,5% tepung Jahe ; R2= 100% Ransum ditambahkan dengan 1% tepung Jahe ; R3= 100% Ransum ditambahkan dengan 1,5% tepung Jahe. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung jahe dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum burung puyuh selama penelitian. Perlakuan R3 (penambahan 1,5% tepung jahe) merupakan perlakuan yang terbaik terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum burung puyuh
