Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning barriers to students' numeracy skills based on aspects of socio-mathematical norms. This type of research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research are fourth-grade students of SDS Islam Assa'adah, East Jakarta, for the academic year 2021“2022. Data collection techniques used in this research include tests and interview techniques. The results showed that students' numeracy skills were more dominant at the moderate level with a percentage of 50% and socio-mathematical norms were also more dominant at the medium level category with a percentage of 64%. The test results were then validated by interviewing a group of six students with varying levels of ability.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is one of the abilities students must possess. Students critical thinking skills have not been encouraging. There is a need for learning that can improve this ability, one of which is advocacy learning. The study aims to increase students critical thinking skills with open-ended mathematical problems in advocacy mathematics learning. This study is a nonequivalent control group design with a pre-test post-test control group. Sampling using cluster random sampling, randomization was carried out in classes at Junior High School 4 Bandung by taking two classes. Data analysis used Mann-Whitney, one-way ANOVA, and Tukey. The results showed that students treated with an advocacy approach by giving open-ended questions had better mathematical critical thinking skills than those who received conventional learning. Also, students with high prior knowledge had better critical thinking skills compared to the other two groups. This research implies that the advocacy can be used as an alternative to learning mathematics for students with high prior knowledge.

Abstract

Many students make mistakes in solving mathematical problems, including the problem of the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SLETV). This research was a descriptive study using a qualitative research approach to analyze students' epistemological obstacles in solving SLETV problems. The respondents of this study were 53 Year 9 students of SMP Islam Raudlotul Hikmah who had learned SLETV. The instrument used was a mathematical problem-solving ability test and interview guideline. The data analysis was conducted by analyzing the answers of 53 respondents to three types of epistemological obstacles. Five respondents were also interviewed to find out more about the obstacles that occurred. The results showed three types of students' epistemological obstacles in solving SLETV problems: conceptual obstacle, procedural obstacle, and operational, technical obstacle. The findings of epistemological obstacles in this study showed the same pattern as previous research findings, although the material was different. Thus, it can be used as a basis for teachers to improve learning strategies related to SLETV and other mathematical materials.

Abstract

Science literacy is crucial in 21st-century education but remains low among Indonesian elementary students due to ineffective teaching methods and unengaging media. This study developed and evaluated FotAR (Photosynthesis Augmented Reality), an AR-based learning media designed to enhance science literacy in elementary students. Conducted at SDN Baru 06 Pagi, East Jakarta, the research used the Borg and Gall R&D model. Data collection methods included expert assessments, the use of questionnaires, and administration of pre- and post-tests. Results showed high feasibility with scores of 97.5% from media experts and 89.5% from content experts. Student and teacher responses were also very positive, with practicality ratings of 98% and 80%, respectively. A gain score of 0.72 indicated significant improvement in learning outcomes. The findings suggest that FotAR effectively supports students' understanding of photosynthesis and improves their engagement and scientific thinking. This study concludes that AR-based learning media can be a powerful tool to enhance science literacy in elementary education.

Abstract

This study explores teachers' readiness and perceptions regarding the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in STEM education. The research, conducted with 250 teachers from Indonesia and Malaysia, uses an explanatory survey design and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze a framework combining Teacher Readiness, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and Deep Learning Orientation. The results reveal that Teacher Readiness significantly influences Perceived Ease of Use (β = 0.48) and Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.42), which in turn affect Attitude Toward Use (β = 0.31) and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.52). Behavioral intention strongly predicts Deep Learning Orientation (β = 0.57). The model explains 56% of the variance in Behavioral Intention and 32% in Deep Learning Orientation. Multi-group analysis shows that these findings are consistent across countries, genders, education levels, and age groups, demonstrating the robustness and generalizability of the model. This research highlights the importance of teacher readiness in adopting AR technology, which fosters deeper learning in STEM education

Abstract

Abstract

Although various studies have discussed digital learning in mathematics education, to date there has been no comprehensive meta-analysis that systematically measures the impact of digital interventions on Indonesian students’ numeracy skills and their relationship to national education policies. This study presents a meta-analysis of 25 empirical studies involving 1,387 participants, aimed at measuring the effectiveness of digital learning in improving Indonesian students’ numeracy skills from 2015 to 2025The analysis shows an average effect size of 1.218, which is considered high, indicating that the integration of digital media has a significant impact on students’ conceptual understanding and numerical reasoning. The most effective digital interventions identified were the Wordwall application, educational TikTok content, and augmented reality flipbooks, which combine interactivity, visualization, and active student engagement. Overall, the meta-analysis confirms that digital media integration effectively improves students’ numeracy skills and aligns with the implementation of the Independent Curriculum and the Digital Education Transformation policy. However, the relevance of these findings should be reconsidered in light of ongoing policy changes and technological developments. Further research is needed to examine moderating variables such as gender, socioeconomic background, and the digital literacy of both teachers and students.

Abstract

The use of the Number Card teaching aid in Class II SDN Kubangsari 01, in general, has the aim of improving student learning outcomes in MTK mupel in writing number symbols up to 900. The research method used is experimental technique. Based on the experimental results of the average student learning outcomes before being given treatment in the form of learning using number card props, the average value of these students (pretest) was only 50.33 and after being given treatment in the form of learning using number card props the average value The average of these students (posttest) became 75.00 with a KKM of 60. This result means that the use of the Number Card teaching aids can improve the learning outcomes of MTK mupel students, especially the number symbol material in Class II SDN Kubangsari 01.
