Abstract

Schools must have the 4C abilities, notably creative thinking, to keep up with the advancement of science and technology in the 21st century's educational institutions. The ability to think creatively strives to involve activities, analyze, synthesize, generate conjectures, create something new, and utilize the knowledge acquired in practical ways. Some studies show that students' creative thinking skills in momentum and impulse materials are not optimal. One of the factors that cause students' low creative thinking skills is the learning process. This study aims to provide an overview of students' creative aptitudes on momentum and impulse topics. This study used a mixed method with an embedded experimental design. At SMA 1 Menggala in Lampung, this study was carried out. 28 students of class X MIPA 2 involved in the study were taken as samples with a saturated sampling technique. For this study, the students participated in tests and interviews. Of the four essay questions on momentum and impulse that made up the creative thinking ability exam each validity value (0.686) and reliability (0.610) had a high category. A creative mind is characterized by fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Problem-based learning models can help students' creative thinking skills, according to the findings of research on the subject. According to the results of the investigation, most students have a high level of creativity on the indicator of fluency. Abstract

This quantitative descriptive study investigates the concept mastery of work and energy among high school students, specifically focusing on 105 students from the XI MIPA Laboratory UM High School. The research employs a concept mastery test, adapting Bloom's taxonomy indicators from C2 to C6, comprising 15 reasoned multiple-choice questions with a reliability value of 0.704. Student responses, categorized into No Response (NR), No Understanding (NU), Incorrect Understanding (IU), Partial Understanding (PU), and Sound Understanding (SU), reveal a prevalent mastery level in the category of Incorrect Understanding or partial comprehension of misconceptions. Specifically, NR, NU, IU, PU, and SU categories are reported at 4.76%, 39.05%, 52.38%, 3.81%, and 0%, respectively. Subtopics such as work-potential energy and kinetic energy-conservation of mechanical energy law fall within the IU and NU categories. The findings emphasize the need for a tailored learning model addressing misconceptions and aligning scientific explanations with everyday experiences. This study underscores the importance of incorporating learning cycle methodologies, STEM approaches, and formative assessment strategies to enhance students' comprehension of work and energy concepts.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v11i22023p056

Abstract

Problem-solving skills can be realised by not necessarily depending only on how much students' maturity level is, but also on the problems they experience directly. This study looked into how students' problem-solving skills may be improved in physics learning by paying attention to the level of education, models, media, and learning topics used. This study employs a meta-analysis of 14 scientific publications on student problem-solving skills in physics education, with a focus on articles that were published between 2017 and 2022, accepted by Scopus and SINTA, employing quasi-experimental research designs, satisfying the statistical data requirements for calculating effect sizes, and providing details on the subjects, media, learning models, and educational level in physics education. The data analysis approach was executed using the VOSviewer tool for bibliometric analysis and effect size estimates for metadata analysis. According to the meta-analysis results, students' physics learning outcomes would greatly benefit from exercising their problem-solving abilities, with an average effect size of 1.29 and an influence of 88%. Using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model in high schools, together with student worksheet learning materials on heat energy, would significantly enhance students' problem-solving abilities in physics classes. This meta-analysis study intends to provide teachers with a standard to measure their choices of models, media, and lesson subjects to improve their students' ability to solve problems when studying physics.

Abstract

Berkembangnya e-learning dalam dunia pendidikan memberikan dampak yang besar pada tingkatan sekolah dasar sampai dengan perguruan tinggi. Hal ini diikuti dengan banyaknya e-learning yang dapat digunakan oleh siswa/mahasiswa seperti Ruang Guru, Edmodo, google classroom dan masih banyak lagi. Makin banyak e- learning yang digunakan pada proses belajar, maka dengan ini paradigma pendidikan juga mengalami pergeseran menjadi student centered learning. Berdasarkan observasi pada Universitas Negeri Malang (https://sipejar.um.ac.id/) sebagai media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran daring dan hibrida. Konten yang terdapat dalam e-learning tersebut juga digunakan untuk melakukan evaluasi. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya analisis yang mengungkap bentuk dan kualitas konten pembelajaran yang diterapkan pada e-learning di perguruan tinggi sebagai media pembelajaran hibrida. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Penelitian kualitatif merupakan pendekatan yang digunakan untuk meneliti pada kondisi objek yang alamiah. Peneliti mendeskripsikan data konten evaluasi yang diterapkan pada e-learning di perguruan tinggi sebagai media pembelajaran hibrida. Objek penelitian ini adalah e-learning perguruan tinggi di Universitas Negeri Malang pada mata kuliah Asesmen Berbasis TIK. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini dideskripsikan dan dipaparkan apa adanya sehingga akan diketahui hal-hal yang belum disajikan dalam data yang telah diperoleh. Setelah data tersebut dideskripsikan selanjutnya dilakukan analisis mengenai isi pembelajaran di e-learning. Analisis isi konten pembelajaran yang diterapkan pada e-learning di perguruan tinggi sebagai media pembelajaran hibrida yaitu berkaitan dengan jenis pembelajaran yang diterapkan.

Abstract

Meskipun berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan dasar abad 21, namun kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika khususnya hukum Ohm masih tergolong rendah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif yang dapat digunakan siswa ketika mempelajari materi hukum Ohm. Tujuan penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah untuk mengembangkan EPROBAL yang valid sehingga berpeluang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis terkait hukum Ohm pada siswa SMA. Model desain penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate) dengan pedoman wawancara dan lembar validasi media sebagai instrumen yang digunakan. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. EPROBAL yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, yang ditinjau dari aspek pembelajaran, aspek materi, aspek bahasa, dan aspek berpikir kritis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengembangan, validitas EPROBAL secara keseluruhan didapatkan 88,4% dan tergolong kriteria sangat valid. Oleh karena itu, EPROBAL dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan dan melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa selama belajar materi Hukum Ohm.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students’ mastering of the basic concept about Force and Motion through the Guided Discovery learning model. This research uses pre-experimental one-group pretest-post test design. The research subjects are 25 students in sixth semester in the physics education department who are taking the Capita Selecta of School Physics course. This research uses the Basic Concept Mastering about Forceand Motion Test, and the Students Response Questionnaire for Learning Process instruments. The test data is analyzed using an average normalized gain secure, andthe question naire data are analyzed descriptively. The results show that student (1) has an average of mastering of the basic concept 75.38, an average normalized gain score of individual 0.556 that is smaller than an average normalized gain score of class 0.568 (medium category), and (2) gives a positive response for the learning process, namely 58.33% agree and 38.22% strongly agree, on the Force and Motion topic.

Abstract

The study aimed to present the trends, opportunities, and challenges of using multiple representation in physics learning from Junior High School to Higher Education. Through the Content Analysis method, this study analyzed 45 journals that examined of using multiple representation in physics learning obtained using Publish or Perish with Google Scholar and Scopus databases from 2019-2023. The results showed that the number of publications of using multiple representation has increased. The most widely used research type was quantitative. High school students and materials (waves and motion) were the target research subjects and popular materials. Learning physics using multiple representations has the opportunity to facilitate students' concept understanding, problem solving ability, and representation ability. The challenges faced in its use are teachers' difficulties in organizing representations in a structured and coherent manner, as well as students' difficulties in representing physics concepts in graphics and equations. In relation to these findings, it is suggested that future researchers adopt qualitative research and increase the diversity of physics subjects and topics. Also, the abilities measured, such as students' thinking and cognitive explore multiple representation in physics learning. Future research could explore the potential of digital technology and qualitative approaches to use multiple representation to enrich the quality of physics education.
