Abstract

Agriculture is the main livelihood for the majority of the population in Indonesia. One is becoming a vegetable farmer in the Tengger tribe community in the highlands of the Bromo mountains, Probolinggo. In the process, this activity carries the risk of causing injury to farmers, such as sharp wounds and exposure to solar radiation. The side effects of this work, if carried out without proper preparation, can cause disease and affect farmers' health. So special precautions are needed to reduce this risk. One activity that can be carried out is to increase awareness of using personal protective equipment to minimize the risk of injury and radiation exposure. This activity was carried out for one day and was packaged as health education carried out in groups by vegetable farmers and accompanied by facilitators. The hope is that this activity can increase farmers' self-awareness in using personal protective equipment when working on mountain slopes to be safer and avoid bad risks due to work. Abstract

The therapy process for hypertensive patients includes several aspects, one of which is treatment by taking antihypertensive medication, which must be done regularly according to the doctor's recommendations. Compliance with carrying out routine controls and taking medication in hypertensive patients is a very important part of treatment, because this compliance aims to reduce the risk of complications such as cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease and kidney disorders. Therefore, in the process of treating hypertensive patients, discipline is very necessary to carry out regular health control and adhere to the medication schedule. To increase this compliance, video-based educational media using regional languages is an effective approach. Regional language educational videos make it easier for patients to understand the health messages conveyed, so that patients can better understand the importance of following treatment rules consistently. Through this educational media, it is hoped that patient compliance with control and taking medication can increase, so that they can achieve success in managing hypertension conditions and preventing further complications. The aim of this Agronursing Internship Management Practice activity is to develop health promotion media in the form of regional language educational videos that focus on compliance in controlling and taking medication in hypertensive patients. This practice uses a questionnaire method to collect data and assess the effectiveness of the educational video in increasing patient awareness and compliance with the treatment they have to undergo.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are a prevalent form of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially those undergoing urinary catheterization. It is estimated that UTIs affect up to 25% of catheterized patients, significantly impacting morbidity and healthcare costs (World Health Organization, 2021). This study aims to determine how health education regarding urogenital hygiene can increase knowledge and prevent infection for patients undergoing urinary catheterization. This research is quantitative descriptive using a case study approach. A one-group pre-test post-test design was employed to collect data through the administration of pre-test and post-test knowledge assessments before and after health education. The results demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge scores from 67 to 93, indicating the effectiveness of health education in enhancing knowledge about urogenital hygiene. Furthermore, observation of signs and symptoms of UTIs showed a decrease in symptoms during the patient's treatment, highlighting the positive impact of health education. Providing urogenital hygiene education effectively increases knowledge and mitigates the risk of UTIs during patient care.

Abstract

Abstract

Effective leadership behavior in hospitals can influence nurses’ performance, including job expectations. Positive job expectations can contribute to improving the quality of health services. In addition, organizational commitment is essential as a mediating factor that can connect leadership behavior with work expectations. However, this relationship has not been studied in depth in the context of hospitals. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of leadership behavior on nurses’ work expectations through organizational commitment at Jember Lung Hospital. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The total sample size was 146 nurses working at the Hospital of Paru in Jember. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of three questions: leadership behavior, organizational commitment, and work expectations. The data were analyzed using a logistic regression analysis to explore the influence between the variables studied. This study indicated that leadership behavior positively influences organizational commitment (p < 0.00). In addition, leadership behavior also has a positive effect on organizational commitment (p < 0.001). Organizational commitment mediates the relationship between leadership behavior and work expectations with a value (p < 0.00), which indicates that organizational commitment is a significant mediator in the process. The influence of mediation was 0.000, indicating a substantial contribution of mediation to work expectations. Positive leadership behavior can increase the commitment of nursing organizations and job expectations. This study suggests that hospital management needs to pay attention to leadership behavior to improve nurses’ motivation and work expectations, ultimately impacting the quality of health services.
