Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teacher's strategy in applying interactive learning media in class IV Indonesian language subjects of Merdeka Curriculum at  Elementary School. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity through source triangulation and technique triangulation, which ensures consistency and accuracy of data from various perspectives. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the use of interactive learning media such as Wordwall and animated videos is effective in improving students' skills, including speaking, reading, listening and writing. It also creates a learningatmosphere that is fun, participatory, and relevant to students' needs. However, some obstacles were found, such as limited technology facilities, inadequate projectors, and unstable internet access. Proposed solutions include improving school facilities and improving internet access. This research confirms that interactive learning media is a relevant innovation to support Merdeka Curriculum, provide an engaging learning experience, and significantly improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine changes in the chemical properties of mercury-contaminated soil with various modifications in the application of corn cob biochar and vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides (L.). This research used an experimental method with an ex-situ remediation approach which was carried out from October 2023 to January 2024 in greenhouse. Sampling of mercury-contaminated soil was carried out on former traditional gold mining land in Segubuk Hamlet, Kuang Village, Taliwang Sub-District, West Sumbawa Regency. Soil sampling was taken from 13 locations determined by purposive sampling and carried out using a soil drill. Soil pH H2O, C-organic and CEC as well as analysis of the total concentration of mercury (Hg) in the soil were analysed before and after the experiment. The results showed that the application of corn cob biochar alone and corn cob biochar planted with vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) had a significant effect) on changes in soil chemical properties and was effective in reducing the concentration of mercury (Hg) in the soil. Corn cob biochar application can improve soil chemical properties by increasing soil pH, organic C, and soil CEC. On the other hand, the release of H+ ions from the carboxyl functional group (-COOH) in corn cob biochar has the opportunity to form complexes with heavy metal ions so that it can reduce their concentration of mercury in the soil.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the response of green mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.) to the application of cattle manure and phonska at various rates, and to determine Nitrogen status of the soils. The experiment was set up using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 2 factors. The first factor was the application of 15:15:15 phonska with three doses, namely ; P1 = 100 kg/ha, P2 = 200 kg/ha, and P3 = 300 kg/ha. The second factor was cattle manure in 4 doses, namely ; K1 = 5 tons/ha, K2 = 10 tons/ha, K3 = 15 tons/ha, and K4 = 20 tons/ha. So that obtain 12 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 36 experimental polybags. The results showed that the interaction of cattle manure and Phonska had influence on plant parameters, namely plant height at 28 days after planting, fresh and dry weight, and fresh weight of root, while on soil parameters, namely pH and C-Organic. The application of Phonska had a significant effect on plant parameters, namely plant height at 14 and 28 days after planting, number of leaves at 14, 21 and 28 days after planting, leaf area, fresh and dry weight, and fresh weight of root, while soil parameters such as soil pH and C-Organic. And cattle manure had a significant on soil parameters, namely pH and total soil N.

Abstract

Gili Meno is a small island located to the north of Lombok Island which is included in a conservation area with high potential as a tourist destination. As a tourist destination, there has been a conversion of green land into hotels and other tourist facilities which has led to changes in land use patterns. In order to reduce the increase in earth's surface temperature due to green house gas (GHG) emissions, especially CO2, CO2 mitigation efforts are needed by squesting carbon into the soil. Research on soil carbon stocks on Gili Meno has been carried out using descriptive methods with survey techniques, namely by taking soil samples in several types of land cover at two depths, namely 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm. The soil samples taken were used for analysis of C-Organic and some physical characteristics of the soil. Based on the data obtained, mangrove land cover has the largest potential carbon reserves, namely 89.36 tons.ha-1, then followed by shrub land cover, then coconut plantations, and finally open land and settlements with values respectively 57.50 ton.ha-1, 44.11 ton.ha-1, and 36.15 ton.ha-1. The high soil carbon reserves in the mangrove ecosystem compared to other land covers reflect that the carbon storage potential of mangrove land covers is better compared to other land cover types. Thus, for long-term land management, the sustainability of mengrove plants must be maintained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of biochar on the mobility of mercury (Hg) in polluted soil planted with mustard greens (Brasicca juncea) and to determine the growth response of mustard greens (Brasicca juncea) in absorbing mercury (Hg). This study used the experimental method, which is a method that aims to examine the effect of biochar application at various doses on the mobility of mercury using the indicator plant mustard greens (Brasicca juncea L) in mercury (Hg) polluted soil. This experiment was carried out from March to June 2023 in the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram. Soil samples were collected in Pelangan Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency at several points near the gold processing unit. The samples were taken at top soil of 30 cm with a distance of 100 cm from the processing site then composited. Soilschemical properties including concentration of Hg before and after experiments were measured. Agronomic variables include fresh and dry weight of roots, total dry weight of and concentration of Hg) in plant tissue were also measured. The results of the study showed that the application of rice biochar reduced mobility of Hg in soils. The concentration of extractable-Hg in biochar-treated soils were lower compared to control. This is likely related to the potential adsorption of a number of IHg and MeHg by the negative surface of the biochar and also the formation of association of Hg bonds with the functional groups of the biochar. However, this needs further confirmation.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) from laboratories, especially those containing heavy metals (Hg and Cr) and several physical factors such as pH, TSS, and color, poses a serious threat to the environment if not managed properly. This study aims to estimate the adsorbent for the development of laboratory-scale wastewater treatment equipment based on the adsorption method using biochar, zeolite, and activated alumina. The research method involves preparing adsorbent materials, testing their effectiveness in reducing the content of heavy metal pollutants, and designing a waste treatment device. The combination of biochar, zeolite, and activated alumina was chosen due to their complementary abilities in removing heavy metal content from B3 waste in the Soil Chemistry laboratory. The treatment results showed significant reductions (p < 0.05) in heavy metal (Hg and Cr) levels in laboratory waste. The optimal combination is a formulation of biochar, zeolite, and activated alumina (1:1:1). Innovations in adsorbent technology for processing heavy metal waste in soil chemistry laboratories can be applied and further developed to create a clean and healthy environment.
