Abstract

Teachers are one of the important factors in the success of education including Islamic Education. Hence, teachers are considered as respected profession-bearing consequences of standardized characters and ethics as part of teaching competence. Teachers are not only considered as instructors but also spiritual facilitators leading to the students to be insân kâmil, integrated human being. Considering such an important role, it is not wondering that studies on profession and teaching ethics have been profoundly found. This article studies those aspects from the perspective of Abû Ishâq al-Kannânî reconstructed from his work, Tadzkirat al-Sâmi‘ wa al-Mutakallim fî Adabi al-‘Âlim wa al-Muta‘alim. The writer relates al- Kannânî’s thoughts to Indonesian contexts.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the world was surprised by the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 or usually shortened as COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) has proven this outbreak as a pandemic as it spreads rapidly to all countries of the world. In the education sector, the pandemic is affecting the temporary closure of schools and changing the teaching method from face-to-face to online teaching. This change causes some new problems that the teacher has not addressed in previous times. This research discusses about the teacher's problems in teaching Arabic online during the Covid-19 pandemic for the seventh grade of Nahdlatul Ulama Middle School Sidoarjo, and his objectives: (1) to learn how to teach Arabic during the Covid-19 pandemic at Nahdlatul Ulama Middle School Sidoarjo; (2) to learn about the teacher's problems in teaching Arabic online during the Covid-19 pandemic; and (3) to find out how to solve those problems. The research method used is descriptive and the data were collected in an observation, interview and documentation. The result of the research is the emergence of five new problems that have been classified into three sections according to the teacher's basic abilities: (1) the teacher's problem in planning and preparing the process of teaching Arabic online; (2) the teacher's problem in implementing and managing the process of teaching Arabic online; and (3) the teacher's problem in evaluating the results of students' online learning. The teacher collaborates with parents and school principals to solve those problems.

Abstract

Madrasah are formal educational institutions that have a lot of Islamic studies in them, both from the formal curriculum, as well as supporting superior programs. However, the reality on the ground there are still Madrasah that do not have a superior religious program to support the identity of the madrasah, in fact many of the formal educational institutions that incidentally are not Madrasah that have a superior religious program. Of course this is a problem that must be solved. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the role of the madrasah principal in developing the tahfidz curriculum at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahussudur 01 Dagangan is to advance the madrasah and as the only superior religious program. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive analysis, while the data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the principal of the madrasah has carried out his duties well in developing the tahfidz curriculum. In addition to having innovation and a good desire for Madrasah, before this program is implemented, madrasah principals also bring in tutors who are experts in the field of the quran to provide training and guidance to teachers for learning methods and also equalize reading quality.Key word: Leadership, curriculum, Tahfidz

Abstract

Scholars agree that similarities are one of the reasons for the ease with which students learn a second language, and differences are the reason for difficulties in learning it. This study discusses the contrastive analysis between Indonesian and Arabic regarding the chapter on punctuation marks and their benefits in learning writing skills for students of class X MAN 1 Pasuruan. The formulation of the problem in this study are: 1- What are the similarities and differences between Indonesian and Arabic regarding the punctuation chapter? 2- What are the benefits of the results of the contrastive analysis between Indonesian and Arabic regarding the chapter on punctuation marks and their benefits in learning writing skills for class X students of MAN 1 Pasuruan? The research method used by the researcher is descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data using observation method, interview method, test method, and documentation method. The research sample was all students of class X MIA II MAN 1 Pasuruan, totaling 34 students. The research results can be summarized as follows: There are similarities and differences in types and functions between Indonesian and Arabic punctuation marks, and there are benefits from applying the results of this analysis, it was found that the percentage of punctuation scores from the post-test reached 75.8%, and This result is greater than the pre-test result which was 58.9%.أكد العلماء أن التشابه سببا لسهولة الدارسين في تعلم اللغة الثانية الاختلاف سببا لوجود الصعوبات في تعلمها، هذا البحث يبحث عن التحليل التقابلي بين اللغة الإندونيسية واللغة العربية على مستوى علامات الترقيم  والاستفادة منه في تعليم مهارة الكتابة لدى طلاب الصف العاشر بالمدرسة الثانوية الحكومية الأولى باسوروان. فتبحث الباحثة بقضايا البحث : 1- ما أوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين اللغة الإندونيسية واللغة العربية على مستوى علامات الترقيم؟ 2- كيف الاستفادة من نتائج التحليل التقابلي بين اللغة الإندونيسية واللغة العربية على مستوى علامات الترقيم لتعليم مهارة الكتابة لدى طلاب الصف العاشر بالمدرسة الثانوية الحكومية الأولى باسوروان؟. وطريقة البحث التي استخدمتها الباحثة هي الطريقة الكيفية الوصفية. ولجمع البيانات استخدمت الباحثة طريقة الملاحظة، و طريقة المقابلة، وطريقة الاختبار، وطريقة الوثائق، أما عينة البحث فهي جميع الطلاب في الفصل العاشر للعلوم الطبيعة الثاني بالمدرسة الثانوية الحكومية الأولى باسوروان وهم ۳٤ طالبا. وأما نتائج البحث فيمكن أن تتلخص: هناك أوجه التشابه والاختلاف النوعي والوظيفي بين علامات الترقيم الإندونيسية والعربية، ووجدت الاستفادة من هذه النتيجة التحليلية،  أن معدل النتيجة المائوية عن علامات الترقيم من الاختبار البعدي بلغ 75.8%، وهذه النتيجة أكبر من نتيجة الاختبار القبلي الذي بلغ 58.9%.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam tidak mengkontraskan ilmu agama dan ilmu umum, ilmu dan agama mempunyai huhungan yang erat, keduanya tak bisa dipisahkan dan saling melengkapi. Manusia bebas menuntut ilmu dan mengembangkan telcnologi tetapi semua itu harus didasari oleh agama. Ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi tidak selayaknya justru menjerumuskan manusia. Tingginya ilmu yang dilandasi oleh keimanan dan kesaiehan akan menghasilkan teknologi yang amat bermanfaat bagi keseimbangan dan kelestarian hidup umat manusia dan alam semesta secara universal dan menjadi amal yang bemilai tinggi disisi Allah.

Abstract

The article aims to portray students’ responses to the integration of spiritual and emotional intelligence (ESI) in Pancasila Education in the form of teaching model to improve their nationalism. The effect of ESI integration on students’ attitudes toward Pancasila and their perception of the integration in Pancasila Education are among the responses. The study includes 73 students from Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Ponorogo, and Universitas Negeri Malang.  According to the findings, integrating ESI into Pancasila Education can improve students’ nationalism, as seen by positive shift in their attitudes toward Pancasila. Students view the incorporation of ESI in Pancasila Education favourably, stating that the teaching is enjoyable, interesting, not boring, as well as encouraging, active, and simple to understand. The students are also reassured in their decision to support Pancasila as the nation’s ideology. To conclude, integrating ESI into Pancasila Education in the form of a teaching model can enhance students’ nationalism and improve their perception.

Abstract

Dalam konteks krisis spiritual yang melanda masyarakat modern, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi hubungan antara agama dan sains, dengan fokus pada analisis neurosains otak dan dimensi spiritualitas dalam ilmu tasawuf serta bagaimana kontribusinya terhadap spiritualitas masyarakat modern. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis. Berdasarkan penelitian terhadap literatur yang ada, bahwa otak dan spiritualitas diakui sebagai komponen integral dalam sistem manusia, di mana otak, sebagai pusat kendali aktivitas, mengatur berbagai fungsi, dan spiritualitas menandakan dimensi pengalaman manusia terkait dengan makna dan tujuan hidup. Otak juga memainkan peran krusial dalam pengalaman spiritual, dan praktik-praktik seperti meditasi dapat memengaruhi aktivitas otak, meningkatkan fokus, perhatian, dan kesadaran, sambil mengurangi stres dan kecemasan. Penelitian juga menyoroti perbedaan struktur dan fungsi otak pada individu dengan pengalaman spiritual yang kuat, termasuk peningkatan volume otak di area emosi, kognisi, dan hubungan sosial. Pendekatan tasawuf dalam Islam dianggap sebagai alternatif pendidikan spiritual dalam mengatasi krisis multi-dimensi akibat modernisasi. Artinya, dimensi spiritualitas Islam perlu diperkenalkan sebagai solusi alternatif dengan mempertahankan keseimbangan antara praktik tasawuf dan syariat. Meskipun terdapat upaya pemahaman keterkaitan antara neurosains dan tasawuf, penelitian spesifik mengenai hubungan ini masih terbatas. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dengan menyoroti pentingnya pendidikan tasawuf dalam konteks krisis spiritualitas modern, dianalisis dari perspektif neurosains. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa neurosains mengartikan spiritualitas sebagai hasil fungsi otak manusia, dan perspektif tasawuf, sebagai bagian dari keyakinan Islam, melihatnya sebagai naluri bawaan yang terhubung dengan Realitas Yang Maha Kuasa.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an integral role in achieving national educational goals in Indonesia, aiming to cultivate students who are faithful, pious, and morally upright.PAI encompasses four key aspects: religiosity, morality, intellect, and nationalism, all essential for forming well-rounded individuals.Specific Background: In the era of Industry 5.0, PAI in schools must address global societal challenges. Contemporary issues require intelligent solutions that consider societal knowledge levels, necessitating a multidisciplinary approach to PAI education.Current PAI teaching methods often lack the integration of multidisciplinary knowledge, which is crucial for addressing complex religious and societal issues, such as conducting virtual Friday prayers during the COVID-19 pandemic or determining the halal status of products.This study aims to explore the development of multidisciplinary learning models in PAI to enhance its relevance and effectiveness in addressing global challenges.The research involves examining case studies and current practices in PAI, highlighting the need for integrating various fields of knowledge, such as science and technology, to provide comprehensive education on contemporary issues like halal certification and virtual religious practices.

Abstract

Currently, Indonesia ranks as the fourth most populous country globally, with 86% of the population being predominantly Muslim. Paradoxically, the literacy rate in Indonesia does not match its high population index. The latest report from the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) survey revealed that Indonesia's literacy rate ranked 62nd out of 70 countries in 2019. Meanwhile, Islamic education faces the challenge of nurturing a generation capable of critical thinking for their livelihoods. On the other hand, literacy is highly encouraged in Islam, as stated in the Quran. The initial verses of the holy book, such as Al-'Alaq: 1-5, encourage humans to learn and read. However, literacy in the context of Islamic education is often perceived merely as physical skill training, without understanding the essence and purpose of the process. Therefore, the aim of this research is to delve deeper into the concept of learning motivation in the Quran, specifically related to the verses discussing it, using Library Research methods and employing thematic and semantic analysis approaches. The research identifies two varieties of Quranic strategies: Intrinsic and Extrinsic, each with different patterns and motifs. These strategies encompass directives and prohibitions, inspirational stories, titles and self-actualization, as well as rewards and punishments. All of these aspects are interconnected with motivating individuals to engage in learning activities, spanning visual, oral, listening, writing, drawing, and mental activities. This concept is crucial for family environments, school settings, and study groups.
