Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran sains teknologi masyarakat berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan di kelas VII SMPN 30 Pekanbaru tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap bulan Maret 2016. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII1 dengan jumlah siswa 38 dan VII6 dengan jumlah siswa 34, yang diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest, posttest dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa t-test. Rerata N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen 0.66 (kategori sedang), sedangkan pada kelas kontrol 0.44 (kategori sedang). Berdasarkan uji hipotesis komparatif uji-t terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara N-gain kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran sains teknologi masyarakat berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan di kelas VII SMPN 30 Pekanbaru

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang berorientasi atau berpusat pada guru membuat siswa tidak mengerti terhadap materi yang disampaikan oleh guru sehingga mereka cenderung bertanya kepada temannya. Hal ini menyebabkan permasalahan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Tutor Sebaya berbantuan media Standing Banner terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil bulan Desember tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimen dengan The Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas kontrol VIII 2 dengan jumlah 36 siswa dan kelas eksperimen VIII 1 dengan jumlah 35 siswa. Sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest, posttest dan lembar observasi berupa aktivitas guru dan siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t Independent Samples Test. Rerata N-Gain pada kelas kontrol adalah 0.28 kategori rendah dan kelas eksperimen adalah 0.63 kategori sedang. Berdasarkan analisis hasil uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran Tutor Sebayaberbantuan media Standing Banner terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru tahun pelajaran 2018/2019.

Abstract

A person's success in mastering a material is caused by the belief he has, because it is this belief that will cause a person to behave in such a way that the belief will materialize. One source of belief is the level of self-confidence. ability (self-efficacy). The Scientific Critical Thinking (SCT) model is a model that can be applied to material on the human respiratory system in class A1 and A2 biology lessons at Lancang Kuning University. This study aims to determine critical thinking skills, communication skills and self-efficacy of biology students in the application of the SCT model to the material on the respiratory system. The method in this study was a quasi-experimental study with a post-test nonequivalent control group design. The sample of this study were students in class A1 biology (experimental class) and class A2 biology (control class). Retrieval of data in research using test and non-test techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive and inferential. The results showed that (1) there was an increase in critical thinking skills (2) an increase in communication skills and (3) an increase in self-efficacy. The experimental class was better than the control class in training biology students' critical thinking skills, communication skills, and self-efficacy in learning material on the human respiratory system.

Abstract

This research aims to identify types of aeroplankton as air quality parameters in the Pekanbaru area. Aeroplankton samples were collected using the Purposive Sampling method where samples were taken 1x24 hours for 20 days in 2 different sub-districts, namely Sukajadi District and Tenayan Raya District. Identification and counting of aeroplankton is carried out in the laboratory. The results showed that the abundance of aeroplankton in Sukajadi subdistrict was higher than in Tenayan Raya subdistrict. In both sub-districts, the abundance of aeroplankton is dominated by the phytoplankton and zooplankton groups. Where aeroplankton can be the basis for air quality parameters in the two sub-districts.

Abstract

The plankton community structure is a collection of zooplankton and phytoplankton populations that interact with each other in a waters. This study aims to analyze the structure of the plankton community and the influence of environmental conditions (physico-chemical) on the structure of the plankton community in the ponds. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling method, which represents three types of catfish ponds, namely, earthen ponds, tarpaulins, and biofloc. The results showed that in the three types of ponds studied, there were two species of zooplankton and 45 species of phytoplankton. Phytoplankton in soil ponds was dominated by Stigeoclonium subsecundum. Meanwhile, the zooplankton was dominated by Nebela collaris. Diversity (H') of zooplankton is in the low category with polluted water quality in the three ponds, while phytoplankton is in the high-low category. The equitability index (E) of zooplankton is in the stable category, while phytoplankton is in the depressed-stable category. The dominance index (D) of zooplankton belongs to the medium-low category, while phytoplankton belongs to the low category. As for the physico-chemical parameters of the waters, the three types of ponds have different effects from each parameter tested on the structure of the plankton community.

Abstract

This research explores innovation in learning through the integration of information technology, particularly e-modules for teaching animal structure laboratories using Canva. Using an R&D approach with the 4-D development model, the study involved 3 validators and 17 students at Lancang Kuning University. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively, indicating high levels of validity for subject matter, language, and media experts. Student responses to the e-module were also very positive. The research findings indicate that the Animal Structure Laboratory E-Module created with Canva is highly valid and suitable for use in learning, reinforcing the use of technology in an educational context.

Abstract

 Welding activities in shipyards pose risks of exposure to heat, radiation, metal fumes, and hazardous gases that can cause health problems. Initial observations show that most workers do not understand occupational safety and the proper use of PPE. This activity aims to improve welders' knowledge of occupational safety and health and provide PPE assistance. This outreach activity measures workers' knowledge before and after education using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using a dependent t-test, yielding results indicating an increase in workers' knowledge after receiving OSH education, with a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05. Continuous education is necessary to enable workers to enhance their knowledge, thereby impacting safe and secure work practices at the workplace

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of the Biology practicum e-module at SMAN 16 in improving student learning outcomes. With the rapid development of information technology, e-modules are expected to facilitate the learning process, especially in practicum materials that are often hampered by limited equipment and time. This study adopted an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample involved eleventh-grade students who were divided into two groups: an experimental group that utilized the e-module and a control group that used a conventional practicum module. Data were collected through learning outcome tests (before and after the practicum) and observations of the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test to compare the learning outcomes of the two groups. The results showed that the use of the Biology practicum e-module significantly improved student learning outcomes compared to the conventional module. The e-module was proven to provide easy access, increase interactivity, and deepen students' understanding of the practicum material. Student responses to the e-module were also very positive, with an overall feasibility rate reaching 91.76%, where the ease of use aspect was highly appreciated. Thus, this e-module can be used as an effective learning alternative to support Biology subjects in secondary schools, while also encouraging student independence and motivation in the digital age.

Abstract

Konservasi merupakan upaya untuk melestarikan keanekaragaman hayati dan lingkungan hidup. Biodiversitas flora dan fauna lokal perlu dilakukan pelestarian yang merupakan hal yang penting untuk dilakukan, mengingat banyak flora dan fauna lokal yang terancam punah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya konservasi satwa liar adalah melalui edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat, terutama siswa, mengenai keanekaragaman hayati lokal melalui pengenalan maskot flora dan fauna daerah di SMA Advent Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau. Maskot ini dipilih sebagai representasi kekayaan alam setempat untuk memudahkan peserta dalam mengingat dan memahami pentingnya menjaga ekosistem. Edukasi dilakukan melalui metode interaktif seperti sosialisasi, pembuatan media pembelajaran digital, serta kegiatan eksplorasi lingkungan. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan peserta tidak hanya memperoleh wawasan ekologis, tetapi juga lebih peduli terhadap pelestarian lingkungan. Selain edukasi, kegiatan ini mendorong aksi nyata dalam konservasi, seperti kampanye perlindungan satwa, penanaman pohon khas daerah, dan kolaborasi dengan sekolah serta komunitas lingkungan. Dengan melibatkan berbagai pihak, program ini diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan dan memberikan dampak positif jangka panjang dalam menjaga biodiversitas lokal. Kesadaran yang ditanamkan sejak dini diharapkan dapat membentuk generasi yang lebih peduli terhadap lingkungan dan aktif dalam upaya pelestarian alam di masa depan. Berdasarkan hasil rekapitulasi penilaian sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan mengenai maskot flora dan fauna, yang sangat positif dari analisis hasil penilaian dari indikator peningkatan pengetahuan secara umum, pemahaman tentang ular, dan keterampilan praktis. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, khususnya siswa SMA/SMK sederajat, tentang pentingnya konservasi flora dan fauna dan pelestarian lingkungan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga diharapkan dapat mendorong siswa untuk terlibat dalam upaya konservasi flora dan fauna yang terancam punah.

Abstract

The Kampar River is one of the rivers in the upper reaches that has caused pollution due to local communities such as excessive activity and gravel and sand mining. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of phytoplankton in the Kampar River in Koto Kampar Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency. Purposive sampling was used to determine observation stations, which took into account habitat types and biological parameters observed such as species composition, abundance, and diversity index. The findings revealed that five classes of algae were discovered in Kampar Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Zygnematophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, and Xanthophyceae. The abundance of phytoplankton in the Kampar River's waters is classified as moderate fertility, ranging from 2,419.96 cells/liter to 3,629.96 cells/liter.
