Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of concept understanding ability (X1), communication ability (X2) and mathematical connection ability (X3) on problems solving ability (Y); the influence of concept understanding ability (X1) on communication ability (X2); the influence of concept understanding ability (X1) on mathematical connection ability (X3); and communication ability (X2) on connection ability (X3). This research is a survey research with quantitative approach. Population of the research is the students of second grade Public Junior High School 1 of Padang Jaya. The sample is taken by using non-probability sampling method using saturated sampling. Data is analyzed by using Path Analysis with 5% significance level. The research result shows that (1) concept understanding ability (ρyx1X1 = 0,374), communication ability (ρyx2X2 = 0,181 and connection ability (ρyx3X3 = 0,201) give influence on problems solving ability; (2) the concept understanding ability (ρx2x1X1= 0,323) gives influence on communication ability; (3) concept understanding ability (ρx3x1X3 = 0,442) gives influence on connection ability and (4) communication ability (ρx3x2X3 = 0,470) give influence on connection ability.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Exsperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji Ancova. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa SMA Negeri 6 Kepahiang kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kovariat kemampuan awal memiliki pengaruh yang linier terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa sebesar 10,6%, (2) Terdapat pengaruh model penbelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis sebesar 52,6%. (3) Ada pencapaian kemampuan literasi siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Kepahiang yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Abstract This articel explain the result of how to expand thinking indigenously ability as an element of thinking creatively in math learning to junior high school through Generative Learning with Open-Ended Approach (PGPOE). The experiment used quasi experiment with SMP Negeri 17 Pamulang as the subject and formed experimental class and control class. It can be analyzed quantitatively using t-test. The result showed there were significant differences (p-value less than 5%) between the student who were taught with PGPOE and the student who were taught with common learning at thinking indigenously ability. It showed that the student’s thinking indigenously ability who were taught with PGPOE is much better than the student who were taught with common learning. Keywords: Generatif Learning, Open-Ended Approach, Thinking Indigenously. Abstrak. Artikel ini memaparkan hasil penelitian tentang bagaimana mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir asli sebagai salah satu unsur dalam berpikir kreatif pada pelajaran matematika SMP melalui Pembelajaran Generatif dengan Pendekatan Open-Ended (PGPOE). Penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan subjek SMP Negeri 17 Pamulang, serta membentuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p-value kurang dari 5%) antara siswa yang diajar melalui PGPOE dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa pada kemampuan berpikir asli, dan menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir asli siswa yang diajar melalui PGPOE lebih baik dari pada siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa. Kata Kunci: Berpikir Asli, Open-Ended, Pembelajaran Generatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh model bahan ajar matematika SMA berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) yang dapat mendukung pencapaian tujuan pengajaran matematika, yaitu pemahaman konsep, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, penalaran, komunikasi, dan sikap terhadap matematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah diperoleh model bahan ajar matematika SMA berbasis RME untuk mendukung pencapaian tujuan pengajaran matematika. Ketersetujuan responden terhadap model bahan ajar tersebut sebagai berikut: 1. Aspek materi sebesar 100% (Kelas X), 100% (Kelas XI), dan 95% (Kelas XII), 2. Aspek penyajian sebesar 95% (Kelas X), 95% (Kelas XI), dan 95% (Kelas XII), dan 3. Aspek bahasa dan keterbacaan sebesar 95% (Kelas X), 98% (Kelas XI), dan 100% (Kelas XII). Disarankan, agar guru matematika SMA di Provinsi Bengkulu menggunakan model bahan ajar matematika berbasis RME untuk mencapai tujuan pengajaran matematika.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning with a scientific approach on understanding mathematical concepts of PGMI UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu students. The research design uses an experimental method with an experimental group and a control group. The results of the analysis show that students who were taught using Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning experienced a significant increase in understanding mathematical concepts compared to learning without a Guided Inquiry Learning orientation, even though both used a scientific approach. A significant value of less than 0.05 in a statistical test indicates that the difference can be considered statistically significant. However, the results of further analysis showed that there was no significant difference in increasing understanding of mathematical concepts between classes that used the Scientific Approach and the control group in two particular classes (Class=2 and Class=3). A P-value greater than 0.05 in statistical analysis indicates that the results are not statistically significant. Thus, although there was a significant increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in the group that implemented Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning, this research also showed that there was no significant difference in this increase between this group and the control group in two particular classes. These results provide further understanding about the effectiveness of certain learning methods in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the RME-based ethnomatematics learning model to improve problem solving skills of prospective mathematics education teachers at the University of Bengkulu. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques through student observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. Subjects in this study were 2A semester students at the University of Bengkulu in the 2017/2018 school year, totaling 22 people consisting of 6 male students and 16 female students. This study lasted two cycles through the RME-based ethnomatematics learning model with the following phases (1) orienting students to problems; (2) organizing students to study; (3) assisting independent and group investigations; (4) develop and present artifacts (works); (5) process analysis and evaluation. Based on this research, it was concluded before the implementation of the Ethnomatematics-based RME learning model, pre-action tests were conducted which resulted in an average value of 69.00 after the implementation of the ethnomatematics-based RME learning model could improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability with the problem solving ability test results. mathematics students get an increase in the average value of the first cycle of 70.77 to the second cycle of 79.59 and the percentage of mathematical problem solving ability increased from the first cycle of 81.82% to the second cycle of 95.45%

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the implementation of cooperative learning model in the type of Think Pair Square (TPSq) in order to improve students’ achievement. The design of the research was a Classroom Action Research with the techniques of collecting the data were through the observation sheet of students’ learning activities and summative test. The subject of the research were the 1st grade students of SMPN 4 Bengkulu City academic year of 2018/2019 with total amount of students were 32 consist of 16 males and 16 females students. The research was conducted in three cycles from 7th September 2018 until 13 October 2018. The result of the research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Square improved students’ achievement in Mathematic. Students’ learning activities were improved by giving the students work sheet that contains a completion process so that facilitate students in working on the students work sheet, appreciating the student with applause after they delivered their opinion, and dividing students in heterogenous groups based on their academic skills. The improvement on students’ achievement can be seen from the increasing on the mean of students’ scores from first cycle to third cycle namely: 74.35; 79.91; 81.14 and the percentage of classical learning completeness from first cycle to third cycle is : 76.67%; 83.33%; 93.33%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bengkulu Utara tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 288 siswa dan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII E dan VIII H yang berjumlah 64 siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh linear kovariat kemampuan awal terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa sebesar 60,4%. (2) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan mengontrol kemampuan awal siswa sebesar 33,3%. (3) pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa di kelas yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis di masa pandemi Covid-19 masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh mathematical disposition dan self-concept terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif ex-post facto. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 83 mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Matematika di Kota Bengkulu. Instrumen penelitian ini terdiri dari angket mathematical disposition, angket self-concept dan tes kemampuan penalaran matematis. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh langsung dari mathematical disposition terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis. self-concept terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan mathematical disposition terhadap self-concept. Selain itu, terdapat juga pengaruh mathematical disposition dan self-concept secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh mathematical disposition dan self-concept terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Matematika di Kota Bengkulu pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Mathematical reasoning ability during the Covid-19 pandemic is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical disposition and self-concept on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This study uses an ex-post facto quantitative approach. The Sample of this research was 83 students of S1 Mathematics Education in Bengkulu City. The research instrument consisted of a mathematical disposition questionnaire, a self-concept questionnaire, and a mathematical reasoning ability test. Data were analyzed by regression analysis technique. The results showed there was a direct influence of mathematical disposition on mathematical reasoning abilities, self-concept to mathematical reasoning ability, and mathematical disposition to self-concept. In addition, there is also the effect of mathematical disposition and self-concept together on mathematical reasoning abilities. It was concluded that there was an influence of mathematical disposition and self-concept on the mathematical reasoning ability of S1 Mathematics Education students in Bengkulu City during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the facts, concepts, principles, and mathematical operations contained in the ethnomathematics of Fort Marlborough Bengkulu. This research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects in this study were seven: one Bengkulu history expert, two Marlborough Fort synthesizers, two mathematicians, and two Bengkulu City mathematics teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through three stages, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research found include, there are mathematical facts on the ethnomathematics of the Marlborough fort Bengkulu, Facts in the form of points, wake-up webs, lines, and line segments. Concepts: flat build, space build, trigonometry on the building and courtyard of Fort Marlborough.
