Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan media sosial telah membawa dampak besar terhadap pola komunikasi masyarakat, termasuk munculnya iklan judi online yang tersebar luas di platform digital seperti Facebook. Iklan judi online kerap dikemas secara persuasif dan menarik, sehingga berpotensi memengaruhi sikap dan perilaku pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi pengguna Facebook terhadap iklan judi online di media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam terhadap pengguna Facebook yang pernah terpapar iklan judi online. Informan dipilih secara purposif berdasarkan kriteria usia dan tingkat penggunaan media sosial. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan meninjau aspek kognitif, afektif, dan konatif dalam membentuk persepsi pengguna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi pengguna Facebook terhadap iklan judi online cenderung beragam. Sebagian pengguna memandang iklan tersebut sebagai hiburan atau peluang ekonomi, sementara pengguna lainnya menilai iklan judi online sebagai konten yang merugikan dan berpotensi menimbulkan dampak sosial negatif. Perbedaan persepsi dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman pribadi, tingkat pengetahuan, dan lingkungan sosial pengguna.

Abstract

The 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election has become a political event that draws significant public attention, particularly due to the involvement of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) family, namely Bobby Nasution. In a democratic system, the mass media plays a crucial role as one of the pillars of democracy serving as a watchdog of power, a conveyor of information, and a shaper of public opinion. This study employs a qualitative approach using the framing analysis model developed by Pan and Kosicki, in conjunction with the social construction theory proposed by Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann. The analysis is based on Pan and Kosicki’s model, which includes four structural elements: syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The research utilizes news articles published by CNN Indonesia between July and November 2024 as the data sample. The findings reveal that CNN Indonesia does not present a fully neutral portrayal of the political reality. The news outlet constructs Bobby Nasution's image as a young figure with strong connections to central power. CNN Indonesia frames the issue in a complex manner, adhering to journalistic principles while still incorporating political narratives that have the potential to shape public opinion on the alleged nepotistic practices of President Jokowi in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

Abstract

Generation Z tends to be more comfortable sharing personal experiences, including sexual behavior, through social media rather than with family members. However, sibling relationships have strong potential as a support system due to their equal, close, and emotionally connected nature. This study aims to analyze communication openness between siblings in disclosing sexual behavior among Generation Z individuals aged 17–27 years. The study employs interpersonal communication theory, particularly Julia T. Wood’s self-disclosure concept and the Johari Window model, to understand the dynamics of openness within sibling relationships. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven primary informants and three supporting informants in Surabaya during May 2026. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings show that communication about sexual behavior between siblings generally occurs face-to-face, spontaneously, and within everyday conversations. Disclosure is most common regarding relationships with the opposite sex, while discussions of sexual behavior remain largely within the hidden area of the Johari Window. Boundaries are commonly maintained regarding behaviors such as holding hands, hugging, kissing, and more intimate activities. The blind and unknown areas reveal that siblings can function as mirrors for self-reflection and personal understanding. Five key factors consistently influence communication openness: family communication climate, gender, age proximity, trust, and non-judgmental responses from siblings. The study concludes that openness in disclosing sexual behavior is selective and gradual, shaped by both relational and personal factors. A supportive family communication climate, mutual trust, non-judgmental interactions, and consistent communication strengthen the potential of siblings to serve as an effective support system.

Abstract

One of the compelling issues on social media is the issue of early marriage. This is because, amid the marriage is scary phenomenon, the emergence of content about marriage is interesting to examine as an effort to counter the negative stigma surrounding the institution of marriage reflected in the marriage is scary trend. However, Azkia's early marriage content sparked controversy, as several narratives within it were considered to undermine the choices of other women who did not choose to marry young. What made this more troubling was that these narratives, which appeared to demean women's freedom in choosing their own life paths, were produced by Azkia as a fellow woman. This study aimed to analyze the narrative construction of young married women in Azkia's TikTok content using Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis to identify subject and object positions as well as the audience's position. The results of this study showed that Azkia consistently occupied the position of active subject in discourse formation, while women who did not marry young those who pursued careers and focused on education occupied the object position. The conclusion drawn based on Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis was that the narrative of young married women constructed in Azkia's TikTok content revealed a hidden discourse of patriarchal ideology and internalized misogynistic practices embedded within the narratives of Azkia's early marriage content.
